With the Steam Summersale slowly coming to a close here in a couple of days, I'd figure it'd be pretty cool to ask around and see what people bought for their digital or even physical goodie video game baskets.

You can just tell me what you bought, if you played it, planning on playing it, and what platform.

As I understand it switch, PlayStation, and Xbox also had their own summer sales so do tell.

For me I've brought MKX and MK11 Ultimate on steam deck, Yakuza like a dragon infinite wealth, Kena bridge of spirits, ff6 Pixel remaster, and new super Lucky's tale.

On GOG I bought the original Diablo.

Of those games, I've played mortal kombat and Yakuza infinite wealth, and I can already recommend them on Steam Deck because they play great at a smooth 60fps.

I'm on chapter 3 of Yakuza infinite wealth and I look forward to more of it during this upcoming weekend.

Same thing for the other games I haven't tried but just bought.

I'm not heavily interested in a big number of games currently, so there's little advantage I can take from these sales. I don't doubt they're big occasions to increase your game backlog, however I'm still waiting on a few things before I can make any purchases (getting my new computer is a priority, and that already takes a big economic effort over here).

The only one I'd have taken is Sparking Zero, but I'm a bit disillusioned that it has fallen into the trend of current games and is including way too many DLCs with some being stupidities. I'm still waiting on Volt Recharge to be announced and for a full release of Assetto Corsa EVO, beyond those I really have no interest in anything that would be a meaningful purchase.

I could have gotten a new Switch game but I'm happy without it as things stand. And upgrading to the Switch 2 isn't necessary as of yet, I can wait until I see anything that catches my interest.

Not sure if physical summer sales have begun or are ongoing or have ended where I live since summer hits different over here, but only one of the above would actually fall for a physical release so yeah. I guess I'll skip this one and wait for at least winter sale, depending on how the games I'm tracking evolve and develop. Kinda sucks I've gotten to this point, but I guess that with me losing most of my free time, the changes in the industry and my focus towards socializing more and turning to board games rather than videogames are heavy factors to take into account for this somewhat unwanted change of tendency.

I didn't even really check, because the problem is that digital games are pretty much the forefront. I wanna say the last good physical games sale I experienced was sonic superstars in 2023 during Black Friday.

And that seems to be the gist of what it comes to, it ain't games you might want rather it's inventory best buy or Amazon need to get rid of.

Switch 2 is a no go for my foreseeable future. I still have a lot of switch 1 titles that I have yet to experience, and the game key cards is probably my biggest turn off as well.
