Well, since I got a forum now, I suppose I might as well make an AMA to get a little bit of activity going, while I try to figure out what I am going to do with it. (my original idea has already been taken, so there's that).

For reference, here is my post that I made a month or two ago when I "came back.": https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=105679

How did you enjoy Auburn? Were you actually on campus?

I must admit, as an Alabama alum, I can't say I'm a fan.

I do enjoy the Bucees though, not as good as the one in Leeds though.

Barathemos : Yeah, I was there from 2016 to 2020. I went to both of the games when Auburn beat #1 Georgia and #1 Alabama. Had Auburn won the SEC Championship against I think it was Georgia, then Auburn probably would have went to the Playoffs as a 2 loss team.
I really enjoyed it. I lived across the street from the Walmart, and stayed to myself, apart from my ministry group. Got a couple of dogs who I still have. They are 7 and 8.5 years old now. I would not have been okay in college if I went to an in city college.
I never made it over to Tuscaloosa, but I want to eventually go to an Iron Bowl there. Would be cool to see how tailgating is compared to Auburn. I walked the 2 and a half miles home a few times, and the nicest visiting fans were Georgia #1, and Alabama #2. Those two games I mentioned earlier? I walked home from both. And both games, people were like "you're a student? Here, take a plate. We made too many hot dogs and hamburgers and deserts." Both times, I got home with at least 5 plates. One lady even me a pyrex of some amazing walnut brownies because she had "just bought a new one, and you look like a fella who doesn't have a Pyrex pan." ( I actually did have one, but it was a rectangle one, and she gave me a square one ).

A bit surprised to hear you went to Bama. I always thought of you as this little young teenaged brat who couldn't stay off of the computer. It's crazy seeing how peopel really are, 5 years, hell, even 10 years later.

I have never been to a Bucees. I do need to go. And I will be getting some brisket, even if my wife is Muslim. I am allowed to have pork, I just can't cook it at home ( I can grill it on the porch, once we are living in a place that will allow us to have a grill, or we buy our own place ), and if I have it in public, I have to brush my teeth before I am allowed to kiss her.
My wife is not very materialistic, and she's not big on souveniers. But, I have a feeling that she will want something.

I will actually be down that way during July 4th. I am going to see my grandparents in West Point for that weekend, so I will definitely be taking my wife to Auburn and showing her around.

Dauntez : When it first came out, it was really fun. It's what got me started on being active on the forum side of the site.

I think it brings traffic to the site, which is always a good thing. Times have changed, since Gaming Platforms started to have subscription services, such as PlayStation, XBOX, and Nintendo. Most people who are interested in older games can find remakes, or play more current stuff at a price that they are happy with, might not feel the need for ROMS anymore.

However, it does bring a lot of spam to the forums. A lot of the posts are just elimination threads, or people who have written up half-ass'ed reviews. I get really tired of seeing posts that are just one huge run on sentence, and clearly don't show a lot of effort into actually staying on the topic of the thread. And then you have the posts that really only need a 2 or 3 sentence response, but people decide to fluff their post for word count.

Basically, the TdV is a good thing for the site, since it brings in a little bit more activity. However, instead of actually being a fun competition like it used to be, it has now just become one big spam fest for the most part.

becerra95 : Honestly, not sure if there is a "best" user. Geeo is pretty memorable, as he was an Admin for the longest time, and an OG. YourMajestyKen was one of my first friends on this site, and Cyro Xero is, I think, the only person I've ever met in person. Singelli was always really nice too.

SonicOlmstead : After I left, for a long time, I didn't do anything with the site. Then, after a few years, I started lurking, just refreshing the page each day. I think I was hoping for a notification, or something to get me to do a little bit of activity. But nothing ever came up. Not really sure why I "came back" a few months ago. I guess I wanted to see the state of things, check in and let everybody know what had been going on with me since I was last active.

Dauntez : I've won a single TdV in Spring 2013. I checked, and I don't think I've ever gotten 2nd or 3rd. I've gotten 4th 4 or 5 times, 5th twice, and 7th and 8th a few times.

becerra95 : I think you should do whatever you want. But it's too late for you to get involved now and have a chance to win.

Dauntez : when tgags made his record post a few months ago, I don't think I was in the top 10 for most in a day by a single person. Off the top of of my head, I want to say it might be from my 2013 TdV win, and somewhere between 125 and 150. I'm almost certian it was during the time when me and zanderlax were regularly fighting in posting competitions.

Furret : Well, I got a few things in mind. My wife and I will be moving from the Maryland side of DC to the Virginia side next month. We'll be there until the end of 2026 when I top out in promotion potential in my current government job, and at that point we will be looking to either move to the South or the Seattle area where I have family, where we will settle down, buy a house, and start our family.
We also plan on flying to actually visit my family in Seattle at Christmas and New Years. We will be driving the 12+ hours to see family in Georgia about an hour south of Atlanta for Thanksgiving, where she will meet my step-mom's side of the family for the first time (even though my step-mom has been forbidden from interacting with our family.)
Other than that stuff, the only other thing I can think of is us planning on going to Bangladesh so I can meet my in-laws, and my wife can see her family for the first time in 3 years during Christmas 2026.

becerra95 : It's a really simple answer: Yes, water is wet.

Furret : That feels like such a heavy question. I originally found the site while trying to find a way to play Mario Kart 64 online during high school in like, 2009? I finally signed up whenever I did, and got really active on the forum side before, during, and after the military. Then there was my ban, my return, my hiatus, and my semi-return(?). I mean, I guess it's fine. I don't know that I really feel like I have really "accomplished" anything, if there even is, other than maybe having a recognizable name due to how much I use to post on the site.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
