I have a little challenge for you all. I've come up with 5 questions about Vizzed, and I want to see if anyone is able to figure out the answers. The first person to get each question correct will receive 10,000 Viz.

The answers to all of these questions can be found on Vizzed, using methods that are accessible for members of all power levels. I've ordered the questions from easiest to hardest. You do not need to know the answers to all five questions in order to respond; feel free to tackle them one at a time as post as soon as you've figured out each one.

[Furret answered correctly] Question 1: There are a few members on Vizzed that are Trusted Members despite having fewer than 5 Trust Points. How is this possible?

[pokemon x answered correctly] Question 2: Excluding private forums, staff forums, and any other forums that are restricted to certain power levels, how many forums (with a name, at least 1 post, or both) exist on Vizzed that are not currently visible on the Board page?

[SacredShadow answered correctly] Question 3: What user has the most posts (not threads) in the Trash Can, and how many posts does that user have in that forum?

[No one answered correctly] Question 4: What is the most disliked post on Vizzed? (Bara is unfortunately disqualified from answering this question because I told him the answer the other day.)

[No one answered correctly] Question 5: How many posts were needed for a user to catch their name on fire on July 28th, 2013?

Good luck! If this goes well I may come up with some more tricky questions in the future.

1. If you give a user trust points, and a staff member then rates said user with a negative score, you lose a percentage of the TP you gave out. You can end up losing a few decimals that way, dropping below 5. The decimals don't show on the new profile pages but they were visible on the old site layout (like on April fools this year)

That's actually a more niche answer than what I was looking for, but that is definitely a way to be a Trusted Member with fewer than 5 TP. Another way would be to reach 5 TP, get Trusted status, then be down-rated by a Staff member. Once users become Trusted, they do not get demoted to Member unless their TP reaches 0.

Question 3: I'm going to guess that Leggy has the most posts in the Trash Can, with a total of 1,408 posts.

Question 5: I'm going to guess that 60 total posts were needed to get your name on fire on 7/28/13.

You are correct about both the user and the number of posts for question 3! Would you like to share how you were able to figure it out? I'm wondering if your method was different from mine.

You are not correct about question 5, however. You are close, and I know exactly why you went with 60. I thought 60 at first as well, but a little extra digging allowed me to find the real number.

The answer that I had was 72, but the discrepancy is largely due to differences in interpretation of the question (and also you miscounted by 1), so I'll give it to you.

I didn't have 22, 94, 114, 116, or 119 on my list because they cannot be accessed as a guest, meaning that they are restricted in some way. However, I do not know if they are "restricted to certain power levels," which is what the question asked. I know that 114 is a private forum that only certain users have access to. I'm not sure about the others. If we include them, then the number should be 77.

There were also two forums that I included that I did not see on your list: 98 and 128. They are not visible on the "Board" page, so I think they should probably count. The other "1" that you were missing was just due to miscounting. You said 74, but listed 75 IDs.

Ok, I'm going to give out some hints since I'm leaving for Japan tomorrow and will be unable to respond to this thread for 2 weeks if no one gets it by tonight.

Hint for Question 4: There are two steps to answering this question. First you must find out how many dislikes the most disliked post has, and then you must locate the post with that number of dislikes. For the second step, maybe sorting by dislikes somewhere was a feature that was created, but not actually made accessible via a button or drop-down menu. Is there anywhere on the site that allows you to sort posts by number of likes? Can we manipulate that in any way?

Hint for Question 5: Many of you have found this post, which is certainly helpful. I state here that "I have flames now and I've only had 60 posts today," but I never say that it was my 60th post that caused my name to go on fire. This tells us that the number isn't 60, but rather something less than 60. The next post in that thread also gives us some helpful information. Since we know of two users that had fire names that day, and we know approximately when they reached the threshold, is there a way we can use either of their posts to find an exact number?

Summoning you guys since I know you were both trying to figure these out the other day. Maybe this will help.

The problem is that post is what created most of the confusion. That second post is helpful because it gives a 6 post range to look at but there's also a lot going on. Their post was approximatley three hours after they would have hit fire if that was the right number, so I doubt they would remember the exact details. But more importantly, your post was actually #68 for the day, so that just made everything more confusing.

Ok, I'll add some more hints.

For Question 4: I recently updated the Vizzed Awards thread with a record for posts with the most likes. I also explained how I was able to determine the top 10. Maybe that information could be helpful in figuring out how to find the posts with the most dislikes.

For Question 5: No one that reached fire on that day posted at the exact point where they reached fire declaring that they had done so. However, there are two posts from that day that contain information revealing the time that one user reached the fire threshold. Once we figure out the time, we can use that information to figure out how many posts were needed.

If no one is able to figure out the answer by 9 PM server time tonight, I will reveal the answers and how to find them.

Alright, the deadline is here and no one has answered questions 4 or 5 correctly, so here are the answers (with explanation of how to find them).

Question 4: What is the most disliked post on Vizzed?

The first step to answering this question is figuring out how many dislikes the most disliked post has. We can do this by making use of the Stats page. If we click "Posts" in the "Statistics" section and then "Dislikes" in the "Data Views" section, we get this, which tells us how many posts have a certain number of dislikes. We can see on that page that the most dislikes is 19, and 1 post has that many dislikes.

The next step is to figure out which post has 19 dislikes. There is no way to search the entire site at once, but we can sort a user's posts by number of dislikes. By going to a user's profile and clicking "Show Posts," we get a list of all of that users posts that can be sorted by a few different metrics. The drop-down menu at the top left gives options for "Oldest First," "Newest First," "Most Likes," "Content Alphabetical," and "Content Reverse Alphabetical." At first, this seems like a dead end. No way to sort by dislikes. You may think that you can sort by likes and go to the bottom, but this doesn't work. It will simply show you posts with 0 likes at the bottom; it doesn't take dislikes into account. If you pay attention to the address bar while going through these options, however, you may notice something interesting. Sorting by "Oldest First" adds "&order=0" to the URL. Sorting by "Newest First" adds "order=1." Sorting by "Most Likes" adds "order=2," "Content Alphabetical" adds "order=4," and "Content Reverse Alphabetical" adds "order=5." But what about "order=3"? It's not an option in the drop-down menu, but manually changing the number in the URL to 3 sorts the posts by dislikes, with the posts with the most dislikes being at the top.

The final step is to go sort by dislikes for different users until you find the post with 19 dislikes. You can approach this however you want; you can start with "likely candidates" that you know have been controversial in the past if you'd like, or you can just start with the people with the most posts. However you choose to do it, you will eventually find that "Conspiracy against thing1?" has 19 dislikes, making it the most disliked post on Vizzed.

Question 5: How many posts were needed for a user to catch their name on fire on July 28th, 2013?

This question can be answered by looking through posts from the date in question. Posts from myself and goodboy are going to be the most helpful, as both of us had our name on fire that day.

Many of you found this post, which confirms that the number is below 60. The next post in that thread narrows it down to a range of 55-60. The posts that are key to figuring out the exact number are in a different thread, though.

goodboy made a thread that day called Guess I'm on another posting spree. This thread has the necessary information to answer the question. We can see that goodboy edited the opening post of the thread to add "EDIT: FLAMES! WOO! YEAHHHH!" at 4:08pm server time. Also at 4:08pm server time, I posted in the thread, saying "congrats on your flames." This is the first time goodboy's flames have been acknowledged, and goodboy and myself both acknowledged it at the same time.

Here's a timeline of goodboy's posts:
4:06pm: Post in "posting spree" thread, replies to me about crushing my dreams and sandwich posting, no mention of fire.
4:07pm: Post in Friend Finder, no mention of fire.
4:08pm: Update to posting spree thread to add "FLAMES! WOO! YEAHHHH!" and I congratulate him on fire.
4:10pm: Post in posting spree thread, thanks me for the congrats.

This timeline makes it clear that the post that set goodboy's name on fire was the "Friend Finder" post at 4:07pm. From here, there are two ways to figure out how many posts he made from the start of the day until that post. You can either count manually on this page, or you can use my preferred method, which is to use the Stats page. Click "Posts" in the "Statistics" section, click "Day" in the "Data Views" section, get goodboy's ID number from the URL when viewing his profile and enter it at the bottom of the page, and use an epoch time convertor to get timestamps for July 28th, 2013 at 12:00am Central Time and July 28th, 2013 at 4:08pm central time. Put those timestamps in "Timsestamp Start" and "Timestamp End," click filter, and you'll get this, which shows that goodboy made 58 posts before 4:08pm on July 28th, 2013, meaning that 58 posts was the number required for a fiery username that day.

Can we get into the more interesting questions? Like “what’s the coding jigsaw manipulated to cause havoc in the site?” Orrrr “why did Nintendo force vizzed to take down a lot of the games” or “when was the last day of flash chat?” Come on something that aren’t about posts or threads but a wider arrange of the site.

Don't think the answer to that first one should be public bec lol.

We all know the answer to the second one.

And rip flash chat, it was the best.

The last one is actually interesting, but probably pretty easy to figure out. I'd assume the answer is probably in an announcement somewhere.

On the otger hand, I'd imagine there's only 2 people that know the answer to the first one lol.
