nope. I think by the time travel to Mars becomes common most of us will be too old to make the trip safely. But by that point the technology might be safe enough that it will accomodate anyone to go out there.

I personlly have no desire to go to Mars . But I'm sure there are some people who would be excited by a trip out there.

I don't believe I will be. It sounds cool and would be very interesting to go there but it prolly would be very expensive. I'm sure there will be alot to learn from Mars and great things will evolve from it in the future but I just don't see it happening in my lifetime and maybe even the next.

I agree with Jigsaw because much of our oceans are unexplored and if we colonized and explored that first than we could travel to Mars. (An no I would be most likely to old to go they still haven't even done it for the moon.)

No, I don't think that this will ever happen.
I also doubt if we have ever been on the moon.
I've seen many pictures, which make me believe that it was all a big lie.
But that's only my opinion...how knows the truth for sure?

Meh. Maybe, but it doesn't seem like mars would be a great place to visit and explore. The ocean needs to be explored more first. More pratical.

As for the moon landing noelia there's a episode of Mythbuster (episode 104 "NASA Moon Landing") you might be interested in if you haven't seen it.

Noooooooooooooooo. Another anti-moon person.

They will fly to mars soon enough. I'm not sure what amazing thing we'll find there, but I'm not convinced we'll learn something worth while.

Still a great accomplishment, and a big step into exploring the unviers around us.

I think we have the resources to go to Mars, but no reason. It's an excessively long trip that would be massively inconvenient communications-wise (it takes half an hour for the Mars rover to respond to commands), it would dump fuel into space that we won't be able to get back, and ultimately, what would we be doing? Sending some poor suckers to spend a year away from Earth so they can plod around in a desert learning things we already knew from the rovers? I think we're more likely to shoot for an earthlike planet, at which point we'd all be dead by the time they got there anyway.

No, I think we'll be long gone by the time anyone finds any reason to go to Mars. Of course, being the United States of America, we'll probably send some Ohians over there anyway just to throw another "In your face" to Russia and everybody else with a space program. Good luck dodging asteroids, guys. Watch out for the spaceship-eating monster.

I really don't think that we will, because there is no real reason for that to happen, except for the reason of having walked on mars, so I don't think people will even invest in that so my answer is no.

Well, I don't think that in our lifetime we will be able to walk on Mars. Sure, it could be very possible, but I believe that there are some more important thing to do, as going onto Mars in our lifetimes would require people to think only about it, regardless of economy or anything else. It just strikes me that it would be too great a job to do in this lifetime.

I don't think that we will. We have so many issues and problems here that we have trouble dealing with that we won't, if ever, completely focus on space exploration. I find it so idiotic that we bother with national and racial identity, when there's an entire universe out there and our countries are less than grains of sand in comparison. We should all identify as residents of earth rather than members of a certain group, since our pointless squabbles don't progress humanity in any way. Then, since all our inter relation problems are solved in that one action, all we have to do is remove the monetary system and have everything be free. That would eliminate all crimes of greed and corruption, ending drug addictions and most gangs. Then, maybe we could handle going to another planet and making more problems there.

Probably not. We are in a time of recession, the idea of spending millions of dollars to explore a floating hunk of rock is unlikely when unemployment is in the double digits in some place. I've heard stories that NASA is having funding cut/ lunar projects being abandoned, so a trip to Mars is pretty unlikely. Although it would be cool to take a trip to Mars, I don't think that any of us could have much of a chance of making it if we only stay here and talk about it on an online forum (anyone planning a career in aeronautics?)
Technology is growing faster than it was several years ago, so nothing is concrete; however, I don't think that a trip to Mars for me in particular is coming any time soon. Maybe when I'm really old, but at that point I probably wouldn't be able to go anyways...
