Since its summer and hot I decided I would do a biography on a plant based Mega Man Character. Optic Sunflower is a reploid, cyborgs with human characteristics such as showing emotion and making their own decisions, that appeared in Mega Man X8. He later became a maverick, reploids that pose a danger. Anyway, lets learn about this plant based maverick.

It is unknown who built or created Optic Sunflower. He possessed the new copy chip in his programming. The copy chips allowed new reploids to use the copy ability to temporarily copy another reploids body. Axle the Maverick Hunter was a prototype. Even Though it is not confirmed who created him it is speculated a police organization may have created him.

He was originally created to offer training exercises for maverick hunters, agents, and police officers. This makes it more likely one of these organizations created him. He was in charge of managing the stimulated games and creating obstacle courses for trainees to complete to earn ranks. On the side he also managed and tested laser weapons.

He often times struggled with his idea of self. On the other hand he was pretty confident in his abilities and work. However, things where about to change.

The new copy ability reploids, not including Axle, where revealed to have Sigma Data in their chips. This mean that Sigma's programming existed in the new reploids. Lumine, who is really Sigma, orders the 8 reploids, including Optic, to start riots. The new scheme is to build a new world by destroying the Earth. However, the new mavericks are revealed that they can go maverick at will. Optic Sunflower becomes a maverick and starts a revolt. He starts using his lasers against the world. He also sets his training base into a trap to lure the hunters into what he believes would be a death trap. It is hinted that he has gone insane. Zero states Optic Sunflower you have gone off the deep end. X and Axle ask him why. Sunflower states we are not the good guys but we are not bad either.

X, Zero, and Axle being advanced hunters, high ranking hunters/officers, and commanders easily pass his games obstacle courses he had set for them. They eventually encountered Optic he challenged them to a duel but is destroyed by the three hunters.

Appearance- Optic is based off of a Sunflower. He is a tall reploid. He is also multi color. His head is in the shape of a typical sunflower and is mostly green, yellow, with some orange in it. He also has teal, blue and green as his colors. He has long cables. He has several ports that he can generate lasers. He also has solar panels on him which serves as his power source.

Personality- Before he was a maverick he was a reasonable reploid that took pride in his job in training agents, hunters and officers. He was also highly intelligent as he could create lasers as well as light. However, he started to doubt his self worth for unknown reasons.

When he became a maverick he became insane he started using his lasers as weapons of mass destruction. He set games that he thought would be death traps for the three maverick Hunters. He states how the old world (Earth) had become decayed and how a new purify world needed to be born. This implies that he believed in purification by violence. Moreover, he shows he does not believe what he is doing is wrong but it may not be right. This is shown when he states no no you have it all wrong we are not good guys but we are not monsters. If he is encountered later in the game he tells the hunters to join him in creating or purifying the old world. Zero remarks how he has gone off the deep end since becoming maverick.

Therefore, it is possible, he could have gone insane. He does not believe what he is doing is evil. He believes that what Sigma is wanting to create is right. He even asked the three hunters to join him in his purification of the old world.

Abilities- Optic Sunflower is a strategists developing obstacle courses for the three hunters to complete to reach him. IN addition, he can generate powerful lasers. Due to being a plant he can power up with solar energy and that is his main power source. He can also charge his attacks to produce light. When he powers up his lasers can be enhanced. He can also teleport and generate clones of himself. Thus, he can be similar to Axle the Red from X5.

Attacks- He has several attacks. His main attack is to fire lasers at his opponents. He can also charge his lasers. He can also float and fire lasers. His most dangerous attack is creating clones of himself. The clones can fire extra lasers. Another powerful attack is his ray gun. In this attack Optic will fire tiny lasers like a machine gun at his opponents. He can also create laser/light orbs these will do a lot of damage if they make contact.

Weakness- He is weak to Bamboo Panda's weapon. The Missiles disrupt his charging. They can also neutralize or even destroy his lasers. It is possible to lock him in a lop as Bamboo's weapon demolishes his clones. Another weakness is he can sometimes leave himself open to attacks.

Optic Sunflower started off as a good guy. As he was a trainer for up and coming hunters, agents, and officers. He was also trusted. Based on his conversations with the hunters he at least knew them. Even though they did not have to go to his training. Then he became a maverick and started to follow Sigma, even though the new reploids can go maverick at will. Once he became a bad guy he started to use his obstacle courses in an attempted death trap for the hunters. He also started to use his lasers for mass destruction. Based on his own words it is hinted he was going to fire a ton of lasers to wipe out the Earth to purify it and build a new world for Sigma. However, he still refused to see that his actions where evil. He refused to be called a maverick or a monster. It was like he had gotten so into his new believes he could not see that he was in the wrong. Having the copy ability he could have still seen his actions where evil since he could go maverick at will he could also come to his senses. That did not happen and he challenged the hunters to a death duel. He quickly looses and is killed.

He was not a victim in the Maverick Wars as his own actions lead to his demise. He could have stopped his actions at anytime but refused to do so. Despite knowing the hunters. They felt no remorse for destroying him. This implies that he had become such a danger that he needed to be taken out. He went from a respected character to a disgrace.
