Before Mega Man X7 X and Zero were the main Maverick Hunters. The first six games featured these two as the main protagonists. However, in Mega Man X7 a new character was added. That character's name was Axl sometimes spelled as Axle in certain languages. Axl would eventually become a maverick hunter and become the 3rd main character in remaining Mega Man X games. So who is Axl, well today we are going to learn about him.

Axl is a reploid, cyborgs with human traits, that first appeared in the events of Mega Man X7. His origins are a mystery. It is later revealed he is a protype reploid that contain copy chips. This gives him the ability to alter his shape and impersonate other reploids. It is unknown who created him though. He was found by Red. Red was impressed with his fighting abilities, his hunting abilities, and his copy abilities. He soon became a high ranking member in Red Alert and was very close to Red. He often went on missions with Red hunting down criminals or mavericks. Basically, he was the top assassin in Red Alert along with the groups founder Red.

Red and Axl went on several missions together. Red Alert was a vigilante group that did not follow the laws. Unlike the Maverick Hunters which followed the law even in missions. There was distrust between the two groups mainly due to their methods, but there was also respect.

One day, Sigma, under the professor alias, wanted Red Alert to challenge the Maverick Hunters to a duel. Sigma really wanted to wipe out both groups like he had done during the Maverick Hunter and Repliforce Civil War. Red refused at first. But Sigma started to infect Red Alert members. Red Alert members became violent and started attacking non criminals and non mavericks. Axl saw what was happening and fled. Eventually, Axl was captured by Zero and taken into custody. As Axl was explaining what happened. Sigma ordered Red to challenge the hunters to a duel. Red realized he would die either by Sigma or by the Hunters.

At first X and Zero were skeptical of Axl becoming a hunter, but they realized they needed Axl. Axl headed out to stop his friends and try to save them. In the meantime X, Zero and now Axl realized Sigma was at it again. At the end Axl impersonated Red to blast Sigma for good.

Sometime later Axl was now a member of the Maverick Hunters and now an officer. He was going on missions with X and Zero. Axl witnessed the Jacob Ladder incident. He met Vile for the first time and realized how Sigma never gave up. At the end of the game Axl gets wounded but survives.

Appearance- Axle has blue, red, and gray armor. He is about the same height as zero. He also appears to have long hair like Zero does. He also has the face of a teenager. He has young appearance.

Personality- Axl is always wanting action. In fact, he craves action. When there is no action he can complain which gets on X and Zero's nerves. Sometimes he does not always thing logically and this can cause him to make mistakes sometimes. He also likes to brag about his copy abilities which can drive his friends crazy at times. On the other hand, Axl has a strong sense of justice. Even though he makes mistakes his intentions are always good. He cares deeply for his friends and will try to help those in need. Moreover, he does not hesitate in battle. This was shown when he shot the villain at the end of X8 telling X that the villain was the enemy.

Abilities- Axl has the ability to copy other reploids. He can copy their weapons and even impersonate them for a few seconds. He also has two pistols that he can fire powerful plasma shots. In addition, his pistols can be rapid fire. He can also climb walls, and float in the air due to rocket boosters in his feet. On the battle field he has decent power and is fast.

Attacks- Axl can use his pistols in battle. The pistols can fire copied attacks from defeated mavericks. In addition, his pistols also work like machine guns. He is shown he can dash. As I stated he can impersonate opponents and even use their attacks. He uses this to sneak up on mavericks or criminals.

Height about the same as Zero which would make him about 5'8-5'10.

Weight about the same as X so probably around 200 pounds

Power- He has average to slightly above average power

Speed- He has above average speed and is quick.

In conclusion, Axl is of mysterious origins. He was a member of Red Alert were he performed a lot of missions with the groups founder Red. He was good friends with Red and Red considered Axl like his little brother. When Axl joined the hunters he was met with skeptism but soon proved himself. He can be immature at times and does not always think logically. This is due to him being ruthless and an assassin. It is also speculated he might be young like a teenager. Despite making mistakes his heart is always in the right place, and his intentions are good. He really cares for those he is supposed to protect. He wants to have a world with justice. Unlike X he is always looking for battle and does not hesitate in battle. Despite this, he does want peace in his own very way. In my opinion, Axl was a nice addition to the Maverick Hunters. He makes the games more interesting. This concludes his bio
