Grizzly Slash is a Maverick from the Mega Man X series. He appeared in Mega Man X5. Here is a biography about this maverick.

Grizzly Slash is named after Slash from Guns N Roses as the staff that made Mega Man X5 was a huge fan of the rock group. In addition, Grizzly Slash is based off a a Grizzly Bear. He has very long claws and drills. He can also throw Claw like projectiles as his main attacks.

Grizzly possess a crystal ball needed to boost the laser weapon that the hunters are going to use to try to destroy the Space Colony. Sigma had set the Space Colony to crash into earth and spread his virus. Grizzly is confronted by X and Zero. Just the dialogue alone gives us a lot of his background.

Grizzly is an arms dealer. He will sell and possibly make weapons to anyone if the price is right. It is implied that he may have gotten into trouble with the Hunters before due to selling weapons. As he states seeing the Maverick Hunters opens old wounds especially Zero. It is likely Zero brought Grizzly to justice at some point or he shut down his arms dealing for a while. Regardless he holds a grudge against Zero for that reason.

He has been infected by the Sigma Virus. He is using his supply train to supply weapons to other mavericks. Still more about his past comes out. He tells X and Zero that he has been infected but still has his mind. He wants to fight the maverick hunters before he goes insane. X and Zero do not want to fight him. They explains why they do not want to fight him as the crisis is their main concern. He tells them they cannot change their destiny. Then he makes an alarming statement. He tells the Maverick Hunters they are a lot like Sigma. His reasoning though is warped. He says that Sigma kills just like the Hunters. The Hunters decide who is right and who is wrong as they kill those that rise up against them. Furthermore, he explains he is just an arms dealer, but as long as there is war rather it caused by Hunters or Sigma their will be death and weapons. Most likely, this is the Sigma Virus making his mind go insane and that is why his logic is warped. He challenged X and Zero in a fight, which he is defeated.

His personality is complex. He seems to be okay with war as he makes money. On the other hand, he seems to be opposed to death as he says the Hunters and Sigma are a lot like as both bring death and destruction. Again, this could be the virus making him say that. He seems to not forget as he harbors a grudge against Zero. Strangely, he seems to have some morality about him. This is due to the fact that he wants the Hunters to take him down because he has been infected. In another transcript he says he has been infected and for X/Zero to retire him before he becomes a danger to the public. Of all the mavericks of X5 he seems to be a complex case.

His main attack is using his claws and his drills. The drills can burrow through anything. He can also hide behind the rocks and come out with his drills. His most known attack is he can fire projectiles in the shape of his claws. This is probably his most powerful attack. After defeating him X/Zero will get the Crystal Ball that he possessed.

One could Argue that despite being an arms dealer and possibly a mercenary, he is a victim in the maverick wars. As he mainly just sold weapons. The Virus made him a danger, but he wanted to be retired before he became a complete danger.

So yeah, Grizzly is a complex character in MMX5. He is also one of the mavericks that the game makes you have sympathy for. Again, this is why he is seen as a victim. Anyway, this concludes the bio of Grizzly Slash
