Minecraft mods and modpacks really make the Java edition stand out from the rest of the other versions. Modpacks can give you a better vanilla experience, or a completely different game altogether.

RLCraft has been my favorite modpack for years. Pretty unfair, absolutely painful experience, but overall fun.

I don't remember what it's called but there's one that we use on a server that gives you access to random hats and relics. So when you kill a mob or open a chest, there's a chance to get a random mystery bag that can give you a random hat and I love the collecting aspect of this. For the relics, they're impossible to find but many of them are so good like getting unlimited food.

This is one of the few mods that I actually enjoyed.
