Just wondering, but who uses the Apple iPhone or any of Apple technology? Despite the fact that they can be crazy expensive. I bought my iPhone 11 for $600 back in 2020 even when iPhone 12 was being released (rookie mistake XD).

There's so much that I hate about the newer iPhones that I never bothered getting any of the new ones of the last few years. There's some features that are amazing but Apple has killed so many quality of life features to the point where I still use my phone 5S if I need something from IOS or App Store because I'd end up losing so much if I upgraded.

Right now I bought the iPhone 13 pro max. I mean I’ve been an apple user since 2014 and never went back. Instead of paying the usual $1000 I go by monthly since I am under Verizon so it’s not that bad whenever I get my bill. I mean I usually plan to keep my phones for 2-3 years before I get a new one

becerra95 : I plan on either keeping my phone until I no longer can receive updates on there, it breaks, or whenever I literally decide to upgrade anyway

I understand. Usually I keep mine for two years until either the battery starts losing its juice or the newest iOS starts slowing down my phone since Apple is notorious for pulling that stunt. I’m not sure they still do that but I know France sued apple for such an action

becerra95 : I know for sure that Apple devices are known to be fast and functional, so it wouldn't surprise me if they stopped purposely slowing down phones after being sued. Although battery being crippled could be another reason for me to upgrade when needed. However, considering I do not do much besides looking at Discord/social media apps, hotspot, and calling on my phone, the battery shouldn't be much of a problem for a while, especially if I could enforce myself to force close all the apps at night before I go to bed.

I think apple products are better than the open source technology of android devices for security, but I do not like the closed ecosystem. It makes it a lot harder to do things you're not supposed to do with the hardware.

I own an XS Max. I bought it for myself after graduating high school about 5-6 years ago, and it's still serving me quite well. Still no damage to it besides the small scratch that I gave it putting it in the same pocket as my keys one of the first days I had it lol.

That being said, it's fairly easy to get through it's ecosystem with a little bit of googling. I rocked it jailbroken for about a year, but it eventually became too inconvenient as some of my important apps have pretty intense jailbreak detection (funny enough, they're not bank apps like you'd expect, but rather games). So now I'm... relatively... updated and don't really plan to jailbreak again.

I think my next phone will be an Android. I've never owned an actual phone Android before, and I want to experience the other side before I can make an opinion on which one I personally like better.

That being said, I'd never buy them full-priced. The phone I have now I got 50% off from Ebay when it first launched lol
