man what a long 2 days...it figures the one time I win the green jersey the site breaks (I was leading in Green when the site went down). it's a screen shot day and I still can't even do that..who knew that the deaths of Meat Loaf and Louie Anderson could have broken this site (yeah the site went down around the same time news broke of Anderson's death)

I guess the reviews I meant to do during the weekend well have to be held over to next weekend) so until then join me on Wednesday when I review a Game Boy Color game

Welp, these two days the site's been down have surely given competitors the short break they always try to time somewhere along the month, so this could somewhat reactivate competition for this upcoming last week.

I had planned to do some things this month, but real life thought otherwise and now I'm out of time to try anything. I hope things can be a bit better on July, for now I'll have to settle with random days where I manage to score points, possibly due to accumulated inactivity like today.

I never imagined the other day that when I decided I would take a small break that the entire site would be forced to take a break for 2 days right after but with my extended rest I feel ready to compete once more! I don't expect much to happen at this point in the rankings but I'm just gonna try to push to be more active this last week of competition.

I wonder if my name will be in Gray again in the competition.

Two days of rest is always appreciated. I hate to say it but it's made my life a lot easier when it comes to TdV because if anyone had a chance to overtake me before, losing two days of progress in the final stretch is a sure death sentence as long as I get some points sporadically.

I do find it interesting that it took our banners away though. It's treating today like the first day of the month on the results page so I wonder if it'll start a new count and graph tomorrow morning.

Furret : Well that would probably explain why I couldn't see the results from Friday (I like to believe the shut down caused me to win the Green Jersey since I was leading in the category when the site went kablooie)

I don't know what will happen now, I don't know if David will call the tour or extend it because of the outage, I hope we get an explanation about what happened

classgame : Checking your profile it didn't count as a green win unfortunately and if I had to guess I would say that it'd be most likely to continue with the remaining days since it's not like it gave anyone points or anything when it went down so I'd assume this tdv would just have less days than any other one before it.

SonicOlmstead : Well Yesterday was a crossed out Ebay listing day and so therefore it didn't matter, and well today was a screen shot add day but since it's not working at the moment, it still kind of doesn't matter to me, I hope it will be fixed because I have a ton of screen shots that I wanted to add for this tour and a good chunk of them were title screens for PC games

classgame : while only David is aware of the specifics, there was an issue with the host server. I imagine coding the TdV to take longer would take way more effort than it's worth as he'd have to code it back afterwards as well. Earlier TdV's sometimes ran for 30 days so this one will just be one day shorter than those

Sucks for the green jersey you lost. About a year and a half ago there was an issue where the site went down after a TdV had concluded and the latest immediate backup was before the TdV started. After a simulation of the competition was manually done the rankings and jersey counts were affected for some. I know I lost about 12 red jerseys that I had earned during the month which sucked as it would've put me in the lead for most red jerseys. I reached that goal later but I'm still 12 short of what I should have.

to me this is basically something that would be smeared with an asterisk, and I'm pretty sure I was dormant a year and a half ago during the July 2020 tour.

I don't think I noticed a change in my Jersey count, the 19 is still under the Grey jerseys

Not sure I agree with an asterisk. The site didn't go down for a certain group of people, it went down for everyone. Nobody gained or lost anything throughout the event.

I'd be more inclined to agree if it was a neck and neck race for jerseys and banners but no leaderboard changes could have happened in those two days.

I apologize for the inconvenience the site being down placed on the Tour de Vizzed competition. However, I can't justify investing time into compensating for this down time in any way, sorry

The site being down for more than an entire day during a TdV competition has only happened a few times ever, but it has happened before.

Deep down I knew there wouldn't be any make up days (but hen again the eBay listing is considered a none day to me and until the Screenshots are fixed today is kind of a none day as well)

I'm just relieved that the issue was eventually fixed

classgame : Things like this only make it more like the real Tour de France competition. The athletes have to compete no matter what obstacles are thrown their way. A rider could fall and take out a few others with him and there's nothing that can be done about it.

Well, didn't think I'd score so nicely yesterday. I feel like either my wordy nature didn't shine as usual or I didn't have all that much to say even after so many days (and I don't know which is worse xD ).

I still hope to see my name more often than not these last days and somewhat make up for the absence. I'm not pursuing anything in particular, just long-term goals in which any help is welcome.

How does this relate to tdv? Here thinking about doing too much and not even competing but alas I don’t like how furret is in the lead after years of being so… middle. If anything might pull another one weekend just posting and such here on vizzed once I’m off work though might take it easy the next few days. Get a feel of this competition and find some loopholes to keep myself #1 when summer arrives

The stats finally show I've won 100 red jerseys so I'm happy about that. Should be showing more but it is what it is.

After today I'll hit 400 points, I believe my 5th time doing so. I could be wrong but it's somewhere close.
