On Friday I went to Comic Con and I wanted to talk about it and share some pictures.

I picked out a few people to meet and get autos of and paid weeks in advance. They were Cristina Vee, Erica Harlacher, and Karen Fukuhara. I also picked out which panels I wanted to go to and got tickets for two big ones. So without even thinking of actual shopping, I already had a pretty epic day planned out. But it ended up being even more awesome than I thought for three reasons.

1. One person I was really hoping would be there was Adam McArthur. He goes to comventions a lot so I was hoping he'd be there. But a couple days before, he announced that he was going to be at another convention. I started looking up that other convention to see who else was going there instead of this one. I saw that Mark Whitten was going to be there. He's another person that I really wanted to meet. But at the show, I found a random booth that had a few of his signed prints for sale and I was super excited about that.

2. I randomly found out that Shark Robot had a booth. They're kind of like Hot Topic where shows and brands sell their merch officially there. I only knew about them because of Helluva Boss which is one of my shows so I thought it would be really cool to buy a bunch of stuff. Bought 2 shirts for Helluva Boss, one for Hazbin Hotel, and one for Persona 5/Smash. Plus a Persona 5 and a Pokemon poster.

3. The Ghostbusters Panel. I got on the line for people with resverations 20 minutes early. It was moving at a decent speed and then just stopped for nearly 30 minutes. The panel was supposed to be from 6:30-7:30 and at 6:40 it hadnt started moving yet. I thought it was going to be half done by the time we even got in and I was thinking of leaving because of that but finally at 6:45 they started letting everyone in at once and stopped checking tickets. The panel itself was perfect because Jason and Ivan Reitman along with Finn Wolfhard and a few other cast members. The panel was great but when it ended they surprised everyone by showing the entire Ghostbusters Afterlife movie.

I also went to the My Hero Academia movie panel. The cast and writer were there and we got to see like the first 10 minutes of the movie.

There was also a ton of free stuff. I got a giant anime Mousepad, a ton of Comic Books, and a bunch of posters. I also bought a ton of little things like pins, charms, and more comics.

Another big highlight was that I was able to buy a ton of stuff that was released that day. I got the new Switch OLED, Metroid Dread, and many boxes of the new Pokemon Celebrations cards.

Nice to see these conventions coming back to life again, even if it's at the other side of the Atlantic. I have no news as of yet if our annual manga con will happen, but given how a festival I wanted to attend on Halloween got canceled out my hopes are not high.

That shirt you mention about Persona 5/Smash can only mean it has Joker in anything related to the Smash universe, be it stages or characters, and while I'd be interested for it since Joker is the only DLC I'd care for right now, I'd rather have merch of Persona alone because not everything revolves around the protagonist. And that Persona poster must surely look cool, my girlfriend would be very jealous of it.

Since you got the new Switch, I'm expecting that in a few days you'll be able to confirm us details about it. Seemingly the battery life hasn't been affected, which is nice, and I wonder what other small fixes did it get compared to the regular model.

EX Palen : I discovered that the battery life can in fact be better than regular Switches at times because it's much more efficient. In the regular Switch, you have the regular LED's and on top of that, you have the backlight to make the screen bright.

The OLED has no backlight at all, the light source is from the image itself. So it's one less thing that requires power.

This is the shirt and poster. I don't think any of the shirts they were selling there were on the site. I loved their pricing too. On site many of the shirts start at $25 and the posters are $10-15 but at the booth it was $30 for TWO shirts AND a poster.

zanderlex : That's something I would have never noticed, most probably. Good to know that fact about battery is fully confirmed, it's definitely a positive point for the OLED to sell good.

The pricing at conventions can either be very good because they're old material they need to get done with or be very expensive because they use the chance to release new material live and direct before putting it up for sale elsewhere. At least that's the way it works over here, 'Murica can be different.

Sorry to say, but I'm not a fan of either the shirt or the poster. The shirt looks very odd, like if it wanted to impersonate 007 at dusk, doesn't go along with my taste. And the poster is even more odd, obviously it's fan art but it's so notable that it doesn't attract me in the slightest. Quite the nice try, but not something that would decorate my room.
