Here are some tips for those who upload videos to the
Vizzed YouTube Channel. These tips will help your videos get more impressions and clicks which leads to more views and likes.
Not all of these tips apply to uploading to the Vizzed channel. Some of these tips will simply apply to your own personal channel (some of these are for my own reference). I'll add to this as I discover and research new ideas and tips.
YouTube Tags:
-Use between 30 and 40 (this is debatable, some say 10-20)
-Tags should be 2-3 words long on average
-1st Keywords should be main keyword, then 2nd and 3rd should be variations, 4th-9th should be categories
-You can use keywords that competitors use so that video is recommended at end of their video (a lot of traffic can come from recommendations on other videos)
YouTube Thumbnails:
-Use colors that contrast YouTube's theme such as: Blue, Orange, Green, Yellow
-Avoid colors that blend in with YouTube's theme such as: Red, White, Black
-If you're placing text on the thumbnail, be sure it's clear and readable
YouTube Title:
-Titles should be between 40-50 characters
-Use targetted keywords in title, especially to the very left
-Use brackets at end of video whenever possible to help separate information so that the video title is easy to look at
-Try to involve numbers, eyes are drawn to those
YouTube Descriptions:
-Use the first 2-3 sentences as a "strong intro" that uses keywords
-Detailed outline is next, about 150 words on average
-At the end should be external links and social media links
-The descr
iption is very important since it is what YouTube uses to help understand what your video is about and when it sees those keywords, it will help the video rank higher when that keyword is used in a search
YouTube Cards:
-Add a card to the part of the video (right before it) when viewers are most likely to click out and link them to another related video or one they'd be interested in
YouTube Playlists:
-Should be eye catching and somewhat descr
iptive
YouTube Video:
-The first 15 seconds should be most exciting, most people click out of a video within the first 15 seconds
YouTube Uploading:
-Set a schedule so fans know when to expect content
-Upload when the viewers are most likely to be on so that they see it suggested on YouTube when it's added (the Vizzed channel peaks at around 10 AM central on all days of the week and Saturday is the best day of the week)
-Promote it right away (the first 48 hours are critical) to get it boosted on YouTube index and to increase popularity
