This is a project I started about a year ago. The purpose is to rip and convert every FMV video from every PlayStation game. Since I have an ISO of almost every PlayStation game, and also have the skills and software to extract this content, I figured it was a good opportunity.

Here's a trailer that briefly goes over what this project is about:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xRt_LT0v3Q&t

A lot of this content is very rare content and not available anywhere else. I also plan to have 2 copies of every FMV uploaded, 1 of the original and 1 that has been HD enhanced using AI technology.

You can find the channel here:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO3LvDfFA-NOfElAarBCrCg

And don't worry, I'm not really prioritizing it over anything, I only plan to invest a couple hours into it a week. Over the past year I got everything extracted, all I have left is to merge the videos into single videos, create an enhanced copy, upload to youtube, and edit the details of the YouTube video.

Once I'm done with this (probably 3-6 months from now), I plan to batch upload all of the graphical assets to Vizzed. I'd have a section of the site which would let you browse through all of the graphics ripped from each game. And it's really cool content because the graphics can be used for your own projects. A lot of them are icons, textures, backgrounds, skins, etc. Lots of cool content. This is also content not found anywhere else on the internet. And what's even cooler is that some of the graphics were never in the games but were still in the CD so you get to see alternate variations of different graphics or graphics that were going to be used for scenes/levels/environments that never got finished for the final game.

Davideo7 : This is certainly a neat thing, I'm all for preservation, though the PS1 isn't my baby save for like a few niche games, it's great to see gaming history being preserved in some way. We already got the BIN/CUE's (The common backup type), so I guess FMV's are neat.

I'm assuming AI upscaling is involved for the higher quality versions?

Also got a chuckle out of me when the intro music was the PS1 boot up but reversed.

Boured : Good catch. Yes it's the bootup song reversed and sped up.

I'm using a program called Topaz Video Enhance AI.

The PS1 had so many games that there's bound to be something that is interesting to everyone. A lot of the games with behind the scenes and interviews landed on other systems. And then there's the compilation games that contain older games and interviews + exclusive footage relating to those older games (Atari, Arcade, etc). I love gaming history and always try to pass on that passion to others, or at very least, try to inform and educate others

This is actually really nice. I hadn't considered that, but you can do a lot of things under the banner of preservation, can't you? That's what Archive.org does. I bet you could host a lot of interesting things with that stipulation.
