I'm going to guess it's because he imagines that he's more than a half-minute curiosity. That he has, in fact, ruined your entire day by suggesting your authority means nothing to him, because his masculinity is so fragile that that's what would happen if a random troll were to challenge his authority. And further that in theoretically ruining your day he feels he has done more to validate his existence than literally anything else he could imagine doing with his time.

But that's just a guess.
