Today I went to Gamestop. Those who know me probably know that usually doesn't end well. For Gamestop that is.
My original plan was to go to Gamestop on Thursday. I was going to clear them out because I would have had more money and things would have been another 10% off. But I ended up going today because I thought there would be less to choose from if I waited another 5 days. I also would have had less time to exploit them because of work and the trains would have cost more.
So I went today and I didn't regret it one bit. My main reason was for getting as many DS and 3DS games that I could get my hands on. I wanted to get all the good ones and all the ones that could have their values go up and become collectibles. But they had a lot of cool things going on with their PS4 and Switch Games too so I tore through those first.
Not only did I grab PS4 games that I was interested in, but I also grabbed anything that was critically acclaimed, popular, or successful, even if it was obvious that I didn't really care for those games. For instance, I never played Nioh. I never even watched a review or gameplay video until today. But a sealed copy of Nioh 2 for only $5 is a no brainer so I picked it up.
I grabbed sealed copies of games like Destiny 2 Forsaken and the Doon Slayers Collection but the real prize was the pre owned games. Sealed games are great and all but being able to pick up copies of games like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Last of Us Remastered for $3 or less is a steal.
I didn't go too crazy at this store though. My plan was to walk 2 miles to another store afterwards and then start the whole process over again. I wasn't going to stop until Gamestop gave me every game and accessory that I could carry. In the end, I made off with practically everything.
The most expensive thing that I bought was a sealed copy of Pokemon Shield, the one that comes with the expansion pass. The normal price is $90 but after all of my shenanigans, it came out to only $26.50.
Out of all the stuff that I bought, the thing that I was most excited for was a copy of MLB The Show 18 for PS4. A pre owned copy costs $4.99. I paid $2 for the MVP edition which came with a afternoon and an unused MVP DLC code.
Here's all the stuff I got:
PS Vita Games:
Lost Dimension (Pre Owned)
PS4 Games:
Assassin's Creed Odyssey (Pre Owned)
Ni No Kuni II Revenent Kingdom (Sealed Day One Edition)
Galak-Z/Skulls of the Shogun (Pre Owned)
MLB The Show 18 (MVP Steelbook Edition)
God of War (Pre Owned)
Nioh 2 (Sealed)
Last of Us Remastered (Pre Owned)
Destiny 2 Forsaken (New)
Doom Slayers Collection (New)
Borderlands 3 (Pre Owned)
Spider-Man (Sealed with GOTY DLC)
Switch Games:
Fate/Extella Umbral Star (Pre Owned)
Pokemon Shield (Sealed with Expansion Pass)
DS/3DS Games:
Fantasy Life (Pre Owned)
MySims Kingdoms (Pre Owned)
Kirby Planet Robobot (Pre Owned)
Legend of Korra (Pre Owned)
Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Pre Owned)
I also cleared out their cheap DS and 3DS games, the ones that arw normally $0.99-2.99. Picked up 16 different ones. In total, I paid $88.06 for everything at 3 different locations.
If they had any of the better games for DS and 3DS, I would have grabbed all of them. For instance, if they had a copy of Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver, it would have cost me only $10-15. That would have been epic. I plan on posting some pics tonight.
