Sometime during the next 1 to 2 weeks, I plan on going to two of the Gamestop locations near me and harassing them. You see, those two locations, and those two only are going to be selling all their DS and 3DS games for 70-80% off. I already picked out two of the Monster Hunter Ultimate games a couple days ago but I plan on going back and picking out as much as I can of what's left.

But other than the obvious big games like Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Mario, Animal Crossing, Metroid, and Persona, I don't even know what else is out there. I didn't even know that there was a Xenoblade Chronicles game for the 3DS and at the time, it was either $8 or $10.

So what games should I be looking for when it comes to DS and 3DS games? What are the hidden gems? What are the great games that nobody really talks about? What are the games that are rare or likely to become collectibles or in demand in the future? Or simply what games are fun enough to simply go back and play in a few years?

One thing that I am considering are all those Avatar and the Korra games.

This is my field of expertise, but I'll have to keep it short for now, a lot of good games are overlooked.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is arguably a choice one could make for this system, in spite of the Switch release, because the bottom screen is much more useful than the menu in the subsequent releases.

Tomodachi Life is extremely unique and relies on you customizing Miis to create a little apartment community, if you haven't tried it, it's abundant, and I'd get a copy.

Miitopia follows up on Tomodachi Life by allowing your Miis to go on adventures. You get to class them like Dragon Quest III, and build their friendship to get benefits in battle. It does auto battle for everyone aside from the main character though and is a bit casual, be warned.

I might come back to this and list more than three, but this is all I can think of for the moment.

pennylessz : I might need at least 40 games.

I just saw Miitopia for the 1st time ever yesterday since it's one of those deals where you can use coins to get 30% off.

Last week all the Shantae games for the Switch were on sale so I bought a couple of them but not this one.

It's a shame that none of these seem to be available in my city. :c

I gotta say, I really need Half Genie Hero, but it's never on sale when I can actually get it. I'm not paying $30 for it, but I need the DLC, so I'm kind of stuck. Shantae is good, but I'm not huge on the first two, the third is pretty much a masterpiece of its own though, I love how much WayForward has improved.

Hm, well I'm sure we can find you something. I would avoid Hometown Story, it looks nice but isn't so great. Have you ever done Fantasy Life? I feel like it's a bit too well known, but that thing was pretty feature complete, I sunk 80 hours into it.

If you like remake, the Dragon Quest games are good, but Dragon Quest VII is a much better improvement than the remake of VIII, both have a few negative changes, but VII is a net positive.

Ever Oasis lets you make your own little world, but I never actually got around to it, otherwise, I feel it's overlooked.

pennylessz : It was the other way around for me when I grabbed Half Genie Hero for the Switch. I didn't want to pay for the DLC, which was also on sale, so I just grabbed the base game for like $4.

According to Gamestops website, I can grab Dragon Quest VII for $12 if the ones I'm going to on Thursday have it. It says Fantasy Life will also be $12 so I'll probably pick one or both up if they have them.

That's incredibly lucky, keep me posted if you ever find a cheap copy of the Ultimate edition, especially if it's boxed.

Fantasy Life does have a minor DLC, but I think most of what it adds is post game content, so if you plan to play it, keep that in mind.

A real hidden gem is the 3DS port of Gurumin, good luck finding it if you look though, I have never seen a copy. The box art is very nice though.

pennylessz : The options weren't great, the only ones that I got were Fantasy Life, Kirby, and MySims. I had a few options to get random ones and some of the old Lego ones but I forgot about those while I was there.
