Suspicions! Ooh! That's all I have to say about this chapter.
Pinky squinted at the clock behind him, which said 10:32 AM. It was a little difficult to read despite a neon orange light being above it. He realized they had just enough time to get ready for the next meeting. One thing the four of them never thought about before was how they would know when to get up in the morning without an alarm. They never had that concern until they started having meetings with Greeny’s team.
“BOOYAH! IT’S 10:32 SO WE REALLY GOTTA GIDDYUP!” Pinky yelled from the kitchen as he scrambled to set up everyone’s cereal bowls.
“Oh no, we’re cutting it close! I hope we aren’t late,” Clyde panicked.
“We got this! All we gotta do is eat our cereal and get goin’,” Inky pointed out.
“Oh yeah. Good point,” Clyde mumbled.
“You OK, Clyde?” Inky asked with a frown.
“Yeah, but I still have my doubts about this Greeny guy,” Clyde answered.
Pinky finished setting up their breakfast, so they quickly started to eat.
“What about him?” Blinky wondered.
Clyde took a deep breath. “Well, it’s nice of him to take us in and contribute to our mission, but I don’t trust him. Haven’t you noticed the way he smiles? It doesn’t seem normal. Plus, he yells a lot. Like almost constantly. He seems to desperately want to help lead this instead of letting you and Pinky lead.”
Blinky had no idea what to say, but he didn’t want Clyde to doubt Greeny. “Greeny is more aggressive I know that but he’s also very excited to be working with another team for the first time. He wants us to know that he is for us and he wants to get us hyped about carrying out our mission.”
“Yeah…” Clyde sighed.
“I know it’s weird to be working with ghosts we don’t know near as well as we do each other but this is a cool experience! We might not ever get an opportunity like this again so let’s enjoy it and bond with Greeny’s team!” Blinky exclaimed.
“Alright, I feel better,” Clyde told Blinky.
“Good! Because in about two minutes, we gotta head over to Greeny’s house!” Pinky reminded them.
