Chapter 10
“Good mornin’! ‘Ey Bill, ‘ow you doin’?” Harry asked his partner.
“Good mornin’ to you too. I’m mighty fine, ‘ow are you, ‘arry?” Bill replied to Harry.
Bill and Harry, two Pac-Men, had recently reported to work that morning in a huge outdoor area filled with dirt and fancy and heavy yellow machinery. Their job was to construct areas of entertainment in Pac-Land, such as stadiums. Bill and Harry looked mostly the same. Bill wore glasses and a black hat, but Harry did not wear glasses, and he wore a brown hat. One thing they had in common was that they wore brown boots. Back from a week off that they were given for finishing their previous project two weeks early, they felt ready to start a new project. They wanted to make sure it would blow everyone away. The only problem was, they had no idea what they wanted to build yet. Once they had no idea what else to say, they brainstormed.
“You know what we should do?” Bill asked.
“No, no idea yet,” Harry responded.
“Well, what’s something Pac-Land ‘asn’t seen before?” Bill wondered.
“Uhhhh… good question, dude,” Harry laughed. “We ‘ave built them parks, rollercoasters, arcades… what else?”
Bill thought hard and then answered, “Baseball stadiums, kickball stadiums, football stadiums… there was even the one time we built a T-ball stadium.”
“Oh yeah, what a flop that was,” Harry chuckled. “It was a ‘uge waste of money.”
They stared out into the early morning sunrise. Suddenly, Bill came up with an idea.
“Ooh! ‘Ey ‘arry! ‘Ere’s an idea!” Bill exclaimed.
“What is it, friend?” Harry asked excitedly.
“We are gonna build Pac-Man a new maze,” Bill proposed.
“It’ll be wider and much more confusing than ‘is normal maze. It will be the same as usual with ‘im having three chances, but there will only be one level, and then ‘e is done.”
Harry visualized Bill’s idea. “I love it! ‘Ere, I will get some paper to write this down.”
“Thank you! Let’s go tell our boss,” Bill replied. More characters, great accents.
