Another short chapter that shows Greeny is a jerk.
Chapter 7
At about noon, Greeny called his team together for a meeting in their black office before the bigger meeting.
“Wait, I thought Blinky and his team were coming!” Silver exclaimed in concern.
“They are!!” Greeny told them. “I’m just going over my expectations for that meeting.”
“Oh OK!” Silver responded.
“Bronze, put the tablet down,” Violet sighed.
“Sorry! This Pac-Man guy is so interesting,” Bronze said.
“ALRIGHT, SO!!!” Greeny began. He commanded in his best teacher voice, “We need to make sure we’re on our best behavior for Mr. Blinky and his team. No jokes! No fooling around! And Bronze, I’m sure Violet will keep you off your little screens. This is a BIG deal because this is the first time we’ve worked with another team on ANYthing before. SO DON’T MESS IT UP!!! GOT IT???”
“Yes!” Bronze and Silver answered.
“Yes,” Violet answered less enthusiastically but at the same time. She didn’t understand why this was such a big deal to Greeny. He had been perfectly content working with only them. Now, though, he acted like his life depended on the upcoming meeting.
“Violet! Where’s your enthusiasm…” Greeny asked disappointedly.
“Yes!” Violet shouted, faking a smile.
“Nice, very nice,” Greeny grinned.
“When will we know that Blinky’s team is coming?” Violet wondered.
“We have no idea. They don’t have phones like us,” Greeny sighed.
“WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?” Bronze screamed. “How could they not love PHONES?”
“They just never had ‘em. You’ll find out more about them later, OK?” Greeny snapped. He floated out of the room to watch out the window next to the front door. He opened the curtains, which he never did unless he was checking how dusty they were.
Over in the office, Bronze exclaimed, “Man, Greeny is really excited today!”
“Yeah, I’ve noticed,” Violet laughed. “He forced his excitement upon us.”
