Short chapter but hopefully pretty funny.
Chapter 6
The next morning, Blinky told his team to get ready for another trip to Booming City. Greeny gave Blinky the address for their headquarters/house so all 8 of them could meet in the same room.
“Hey Inky! Hey Clyde! What are you still doin’ down there?” Pinky yelled. Blinky had previously told him he was in charge of the team for the morning.
“See you later. I’d better go see my parents about that poster board. Who knows how long they’ll wanna talk to me for…” Blinky said to Pinky as he went outside to the boring overcast sky.
“Bye!” Pinky shouted to Blinky. “Get up, c’mon!” he shouted to the sleepyheads.
“Whaa… oh, sorry,” Inky sighed. “Not used to not sleeping much.”
“Clyde! DUDE!” Pinky yelled at him.
Clyde jumped. “Waitwhahuh?” He looked around at the others.
“Oh, ooops…”
“It’s OK,” Pinky smiled. “I’m in charge so I gotta get you up quick.”
“Wait what? Why isn’t Blinky in charge?” Clyde wondered.
“He’s running errands,” Inky told Clyde with a goofy grin.
“Blinky? Running errands?” Clyde asked, shocked.
“Yep. Things are getting pretty wacky around here,” Pinky noted.
All three of them had their usual Nice Krispies breakfast and discussed their excitement for the day ahead.
Inky started off the conversation with, “I can’t wait to meet Greeny! He seems like such a great guy. I mean, he offered to help us when he doesn’t have any idea who we are.”
“Right!” Pinky agreed. “I can’t imagine what the rest of his team is like. Like Blinky said, he brags about them a lot.”
“Ooh yeah! I bet they work their butts off every day,” Inky replied.
“I bet that they care so much about each other and us!” Pinky exclaimed.
Clyde spoke up. “Sorry to ruin the mood, but how can we trust them already?”
Pinky and Inky paused. Pinky realized they had rushed into this without considering any risks.
“...I don’t know,” Pinky sighed. “But I know Blinky’s even more excited about this than we are. And nothing we say to him will change his mind.”
“I figured that,” Clyde responded.
“I think it’d be better to try it now! The sooner we catch
Pac-Man, the sooner we can catch Ms. Pac-Man and Jr. Pac-Man!!” Inky persuaded them.
“Well, that’s what we’ll be doing. Let’s just hope our teams work well together,” Pinky replied.
