I've upgraded the version of RetroArch that Vizzed uses from 1.8.8 to 1.8.9 for most of the systems.

As mentioned last time, the latest version of Microsoft Edge now works with this emulator so if you're using Microsoft Edge, be sure to update it! Previously, users using Edge were stuck using version 1.7.0. The version of Edge on the Xbox One also got an update and so that version also works with the latest version but it still suffers from terrible frame rates once the controller gets detected. Hoping I can find a solution to this issue eventually because that would mean that most of the RGR would be playable on the Xbox One.

Here's a list of every system that got upgraded to 1.8.9:
-Arcade
-Atari 2600
-Atari 7800
-Atari Lynx
-Commodore 64
-Game Boy
-Game Boy Advance
-Game Boy Color
-Game Gear
-Neo Geo Pocket
-Neo Geo Pocket Color
-Nintendo NES
-Sega Genesis
-Sega Master System
-Super Nintendo
-TurboGrafx
-WonderSwan
-WonderSwan Color
-Virtual Boy

Systems still using 1.7.7:
-Nintendo 64

If you experience any issues that are probably caused by the new version, let me know. Here's a list of things added to version 1.8.9
https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/blob/master/CHANGES.md#189
(not all features are supported by emscripten)

Staff : Letting you all know. Let me know if there's any issues with this upgrade.

I despise Retroarch, due to my experience with it deleting my saves for no good reason. The auto save state option will be appreciated.

pennylessz : Don't you HAVE to use save states anyway when using RetroArch on Vizzed? Correct me if I'm wrong, but in-game saves are never retained once you close the tab running the emulator. Loading a save state also restores your saves, so you can resume from an in-game save if you get a Game Over, but not when you first load the game.

Digifiend : I'm not really sure. I haven't used the emulators here in around eight years, I don't think we were even using Retroarch at that point. To my knowledge, I used to be able to save in game fine on this site.

The beef I mentioned was with Retroarch in general, I used to use it on an old Android device.

pennylessz : A quick Board thread search tells me that they started using RetroArch here three years ago (someone suggested it in 2015 but it was only implemented in 2017). Eight years ago, RetroArch was just starting out and I don't think it could run in a web browser.

pennylessz : RetroArch gets updated often so any issues you may have had with it in the past may no longer be an issue. I plan to eventually modify it so that it stores the saves on the Vizzed server.

Digifiend : Thanks for helping provide info.
