We all know what the PS5 controller is going to look like now and I hate it. The design itself is cool looking, sleek, and futuristic, but how long is something like that going to last?

First of all, it's white. It's being marketed as a shiny new toy but unlike the black controllers, you'll have to take extra care of it if you don't want it to look like a piece of garbage after a couple weeks, it will be much easier to get dirty.

It also looks like there's a lot more empty space.

It's DISGUSTING

I think there will probably be different colored variants... maybe... I don't really mind this design, but 100% I'll buy a normal black one before this lol. The only thing that really bothers me is the buttons not being colored. That's basically a staple Sony, come on... The actual features of the controller are neat, though. The built-in mic is a good step forward.

Minuano : It also looks like the buttons don't pop out as much as normal. If true, then it would be harder to get any materials out that get stuck.

This is a bold move with the white. But actually just wash your hands and put the controller up somewhere. Wipe it off every couple weeks. It will be fine it isn't like shoes.

I really like how the white looks to be honest. Also why is nobody talking about how they made the controller bigger. It's no longer for baby hands. Probably has more weight to it too.

The PS5 controller is f***ing garbage looking, but I bet it will be a dream to hold and use.

The thing that bugs me most is they moved the lightbar from the back of the controller, where it is out of the way, and put it on the front of the controller on both sides of the touch pad. While I'm sure it will be "lighter" I just really don't want a light in my face unless I can program the color to match the aesthetic of my room.

It's cool if they hang on the wall or whatever, but the controller will be angled directly at my face.

zanderlex : There's literally white ps4 controllers, I've had one for years.. its still white.. A miracle i know. There's also bound to be black variants and probably other colours too just like the ps4..... Also if you care that much it'd what take like 10 seconds to wipe it clean after you used it... gee

legacyme3 : The ps4 controller literally has a light on the front of it through the touchpad, i don't see how this would be any different. Also the big ass light on the ps4 controller was barely used and in games that use it to flash sporadically it actually screwed with my epilepsy quite a bit. Now don't get me wrong if the colour flashes like that on the front, it's an issue for me for sure. But we don't know if that's the case (or at least i dont)

I think we must be looking at two different PS4 controllers... mine only has light on the back of the controller. Unless like the touchpad itself lights up? I wouldn't know since I covered it forever ago with a sticker (like seriously day one). Maybe that's because the light on the front bothered me.

I just want to know there's an option to turn it off or make the color whatever we want it to be? Because that's my biggest turnoff here.

I admit it would look better if it was all black and not a white/black combination. Yeah, it may be a homage to the first PSX controllers, but we've grown to accept black as the standard color for Playstation controllers and it's hard to change back after so many years.

It looks big to me, much more than a PS4 controller. And it also looks like it could be a bit heavier. I hope both of those facts don't affect how easy it is to carry or hold it.

About the light on the front, if it's just like that of an Xbox 360 controller (I have one plugged to my computer right now) I don't really mind it, but the light of my PS4 controller is very bright even at its lowest.

Let's see if this is the final design. With most if not every single thing being delayed due to coronavirus, we might still see a delay in the release and a possible redesign.

Looks just fine to me. I don't see what's so "disgusting" and "garbage looking" about it.

I think it is definitely a step forward in terms of features and functionality (USB-C is a huge plus for me). I also read that it is supposed to be a bit bigger than the dual shock 4 to accommodate people with larger hands. I never found the PS4 uncomfortable to use even for long periods of time, so I didn't even know this was a complaint people had. Then again, my hands are pretty average in size.

Color wise, not really a fan of the white and black contrast. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to Playstation consoles being black for the past 3 generations. This actually reminds me a bit of the wii remote because of the white color against the clear buttons.

I definitely feel like it's safe to say that more color schemes, including an all black one, will be released in the future. Hopefully alongside the console. Overall my main 2 gripes are the contrasting color scheme and the colorless, clear buttons but these are only cosmetic. The controller's form and features are more important to me and the dualsense delivers in that area.

But this time it doesn't just fail. It fails hard. It is an ass ugly controller with an ass ugly color scheme.

SacredShadow : Functionality sure, it's great but maintaining something like that is going to be a pain. At least with the standard dualshocks wear and tear, and dirt don't really stand out against a black controller. It Will here.
