So, I've been unemployed for awhile now. The issue is that I can't drive due to my eyes, and there's few businesses in my area. After having applied to the lot of them, I needed to find a new way to pay off my small monthly loan. I required around $34 a month, plus I needed money for food. So I scoured the internet for survey sites, and they're all horrible, let's admit it. No survey site is worth it.
Well, after looking on reddit, I saw people speaking of Mechanical Turk, I'm pretty sure I signed up for it years ago, but Amazon wasn't having any. This time though, I got in. Inside the bowels of Mturk is a plethora of jobs paying $0.01 for 10 - 30 minute jobs, and other jobs that lie to you about how long they are. You also need to make sure 99% or more of the jobs you do are accepted, or you'll get offered significantly less.
In spite of this, I still make on average around $5 a day, from two or three hours of work. That work isn't constant the whole three hours, but it's still a lot. I use all the tricks in the book I can to make money. So does that mean this works? Yeah, compared to other sites, but it's still horrible. If you get caught up in a $0.30 survey for an hour, you're pretty much screwed, because you don't get to know when it's over, and by the time you find out, you'll be over halfway in.
This is my life now, and while I made $15 yesterday, it still took up more time than it should. I almost wish for a 9 - 5 grind, but I don't really want that either. Hopefully after my loan ends in June, I can start using the money for savings, and I can work on finishing my novel.
