Have any of you guys been able to attend one of these things? They look so fun on tv and we only had a Stadium Series game once but it was sold out so damn fast I couldn't get tix. This coming year my Wild are hosting it and hopefully we get to wear the classic North Stars jerseys that I love so much. I had a guy who is liscened by the NHL make me a Wild jersey with North Stars colors a few years back and I guess the rumor is that they may actually use that template for our Winter classic jerseys.

We have a big outdoor Hockey festival here in MN every year called "Hockey Day Minnesota" which hosts 2 of our 6 D-1 college Hockey teams and then a bunch of high school games as well. It also switches to a different town every year as well and it's normally played outside on a lake. It's a fantastic sight to see for any Hockey fan.

I went to the one 2 years ago in NY to see the Rangers win. It was a lot of fun but it's way colder out in the open on January 1st 50 feet up than in an arena.

I'm gonna go back again if it comes back here.

zanderlex : Was it the stadium series or the Winter Classic? Yeah we've had only the stadium series here once. The Winter Classic is gonna be at Target Field where the Twins play so hopefully it keeps alot of the wind out.

I went to the Gophers game outside in December when ESPN college Gameday came to broadcast the show for the first time. It was 20 degrees and showing outside. I was layered nicely but my outside sweat pant cuffs got wet and it got my socks wet. I was perfect except the wet feet. Next time all water repellent pants.
