To be honest this seems alot less like a review and more like a rant in my opinion. It is hard to follow along with because it seems like you explain the whole story. You also try to take inspiration from the angry video game nerd but the difference is this is written format not video format. So it doesn't really add too much. It is informal and just doesn't work in my opinion. I think this might just not be your type of game to be honest. You seem overly nitpicky on it.

Also your overall section is literally just a rant. It does not sum up the review very well at all. It is good to compare games to other games but not good to go off onto random lists of games you dislike.

Pretty okay review I guess but I think you need to work a lot on your style of writing.

Patrick Star : Who are you to judge? I understand some of your criticisms, but how can you possibly judge me for being "informal" and that "I should work on my style of writing" when you literally don't know proper grammar. Your comment had a lot of capitalization and even punctuation issues. For example, you didn't capitalize Angry Video Game Nerd in your sentence, thus spelling it "angry video game nerd". That's a big fault! I don't explain the whole story, I just explain the start (and some trivial details you find out about later on in the game) and the end - in the latter case, because that was a huge flaw to me. I think all stories must end happily, otherwise they are pure and total crap.

Also, if my review is hard to follow, that's because the convoluted lore of this game is hard to follow. My review here is just as easy to follow as any other video game review, and yeah I admit it is more of a rant than a review at times, but it's still a review at heart, though. And I don't try to take inspiration from the Angry Video Game Nerd, I do take full inspiration from the Angry Video Game Nerd. I admit that I am nitpicky about this game, but that's because I have a personal vendetta against this game due to it causing me emotional distress (as crazy as that sounds) because of its overall edginess and unhappiness, so that explains why this review was more-so venting out my anger and frustration and expressing myself rather than actually reviewing it at times. That also explains why this review has so much Angry Video Game Nerd-influence to it, as well as that I seriously think this is a bad game no matter which way you look at it just like the crap he plays on the show such as The Wizard of Oz SNES, the LJN and Tiger games, Action 52, and Dragon's Lair NES to name some.

I did acknowledge that the overall section was originally just a rant - thanks for pointing that out - and so I fixed it up to make it more authentic. And yes, as a person who'd rather be playing games like Sonic Mania Plus or Mega Man 11, this definitely isn't my type of game due to being so damn slow. But this game is bad even for what it is because of how edgy and unhappy it all is. I don't mind Visual Novels even though they're definitely not my type of game, but if this game wasn't so damn edgy I would've been more positive towards it and gave it some degree of credit.

To sum things up, I do acknowledge some of your criticisms, but you should understand why I even made this review to begin with. I see Angry Video Game Nerd talk crap on a lot of really bad games, and I wanted to do something like that for a game I seriously think is indisputably bad - and I did just that. And before you judge me on my style of writing, work on your grammar. You got all the time in the world to type a proper sentence, so don't rush it out and be sure to spellcheck it thoroughly. Even I make mistakes here and there - I am human after all - but the comment you typed out was clearly rushed and wasn't spellchecked at all. Be sure to look over your sentence before you post it, okay.

Rayman85 : I just think that the AVGN's style works 10x better in video format rather than written format. In written format it does not come across as funny. He also includes other parts to his review to keep the audience entertained. This does not work in written format because it comes across as vulgar and unneeded. It is also filler in alot of points such as.

"as everyone else likes Bayonetta, South Park, or some other sketchy, crappy, and obscure M-rated game. f***ing grown-ups!"

and

"But does she apologize for her fatal crime? No. f***ing b****!"

and

"Ugh, what a s***load of f***... Oh yeah, Yuki later returns..."

I see you edited your overall section to address my points. Yes you are entitled to express your thoughts in whatever way you want but you have to be open to criticism. When writing anything you should always be open to criticism and I just think the way you wanted to write in is not good. Yes your review is long and has a lot of depth to it but that does not make it good in my eyes.

One other thing I noticed while reading over your review is your use of examples becomes tedious at some points. You bring up alot of examples in this so other people have to play a lot of other games to understand your point. I think you should lessen the examples a little bit. It is good when you give one or two games but at some points you end up going on and talking about alot of those other games instead of the game you review. It is also filler.

Patrick Star : Honestly, the Angry Video Game Nerd-style of dialogue works just as good in written format as in video format. If you've read negative video game reviews on places like GameFAQS.com or even some lists of the worst video games, you'd understand why it works in both scenarios. Also, drawing comparisons to other video games is another thing the Angry Video Game Nerd commonly does in his videos. You don't have to play the games I mention to get the examples, and you simply have to see them to understand my points. Yeah, I admit I prolonged the review with some stuff like explaining Mayu's death and Morishige's corpse obsession, but I really had to get all of that out of my system. As for the "as everyone else likes Bayonetta, South Park, or some other sketchy, crappy, and obscure M-rated game. f***ing grown-ups!" part, I omitted that part altogether as it wasn't relevant to the review at all, even though it is very true in today's society. Thanks again for that! By the way, I'm sorry for disliking your original post, and I seriously wish I could reverse that.

I'm not saying you have to like my review, in fact I like your criticisms because they've helped me address some flaws I've made here. That being said, you've analyzed this review pretty well given that you've never played it. I know of this because of a private message you sent me regarding this.
