I have a problem with my Switch and could use some help.

I was playing My Time at Portia earlier today. The thing with me and Switch games is that I don't close the game or turn off the system, like the Vita, I just turn off the screen so I don't have to waste so much time turning the game on again.

The game auto saved a bunch and I loaded some save data as well but today informally turned the game off to play a different game.

I put in the different game, and my save file was gone. I thought it was weird but I also played this other game for only like an hour so I thought maybe I didn't save.

Then I go back to Portia and all the save files for this game are gone too, even though I saved and loaded a bunch of times.

Any ideas as to what went wrong?
