I've migrated and recreated the Registration page to the new site code. That was the last important page to be migrated.

Staff : I spend a little time testing it out but didn't thoroughly test it out. If anyone gets reports of users being unable to register, or if there appears to be a sudden drop in new users, let me know ASAP.

It appears to work, just tested it with user above.

I still think some improvements are needed though.

1. The initial screen where you agree or disagree with site rules is not needed or a radio button should be included on the form where they register. I still think it is pointless, no new user reads rules before registering.

2. Users should receive email with their registered details including username and password, all I got was a verification email.

3. Once registered it should login user automatically.

4. You can register with same email over and over again.

5. The captcha is quite annoying and doesn't always work when you select the correct images. That is not your fault though, it is captchas fault.

It would be very helpful to track new registrants if you're able to fix this page when you get a chance.

https://www.vizzed.com/boards/stats-full.php

If you go all the way down to the bottom of the page, the numbers are all broken ever since November of last year and aren't accurate anymore.

JigSaw : I don't really want to spend much more time on this since I wanted to start investing my time on things not related to development but I'll see what I can do.

1. It's pretty standard to have it be a requirement to read the rules of a site before registering. Having a page dedicated to it makes it appear more serious to the user, the user will be more cautious knowing that we take the rules more seriously, I do believe some actually do glance over the rules, and it protects us as the staff when a user complains about something, we can simply say that it was in the rules.

2. That doesn't seem right. The email should have contained your username. Having it also display the password I think poses a security risks and I personally think makes the site seem less secure. It gives the impression that the password you use on the site isn't hashed. Any time I sign up for a site and they email me the password I use, the site in my mind loses any credibility as far as security goes.

3. Great idea. Done. Users are now automatically logged in after they finish up the signup process.

4. Fixed. The same email address can no longer be used for multiple accounts.

5. They're annoying but necessary for security.

zanderlex : That page is kinda beyond repair at this point. I'll most likely rebuild it from the ground up at some point. Maybe sooner rather than later. We definitely need a good way to be tracking the stats that page use to track.

Davideo7 : Users should at least receive some sort of welcome email that that have successfully registered. That is the most important thing missing or needs fixing. Everything else is fine for now.

JigSaw : They get a welcome PM. The activation email could serve as a welcome email. I like to avoid sending out too many emails from the site's server since you risk getting penalized with the more emails you send out. You also reach your daily limits quicker that way too.

I'll think about this though and maybe add that in at a later point.

Davideo7 : Since you added the auto login after registration you probably don't need to send an additional registration email. It's nice to have but it not worth it if you are getting penalized over it.
