Pokemon Osmium is back!

More than 3 years after the last Pokemon Osmium game finished, it's making its return to vizzed with a huge Viz prize. This thread is going to serve as the signups and rules/instructions for the new season.

Section 1: Pokemon Osmium history

Pokemon Osmium began in October 2013 and had a total of 3 seasons so far. The first 2 seasons combined for more than 4,000 replies and 140,000 views between two threads. In total there have been 17 threads to play the game, look up info, and other stuff related to the game.

Season 2 lasted from April 1st 2014 until July 2nd 2014 and had a total of 99 users competing. This time around we want the game to be even better.



Section 2: Rules and Instructions

Season 4 will be much simpler than past games. Each user will have three Pokemon. Each day a user can make one post and will have a total of 3 actions. (number of posts may change) Actions include attack, heal, and shop. You can do 1 of each or just attack 2 or 3 times.

Each Pokemon will have stats. They are HP, ATK, and DEF. If you do an attack, you pick which user you are attacking, which of their Pokemon you are attacking, and which of your Pokemon will attack. Damage is calculated based on the difference between attack and defense. When you attack, the opposing Pokemons defense is subtracted from your Pokemons attack and that's how much HP they lose. Your Pokemon will then lose HP in a counter attack.

The HP you lose is half of the difference between your defense and their attack. So its important to pick your opponent carefully. If your Pokemon faints, it's permenantly out of the game and if all your Pokemon faint, you are out of the game.

If you choose to heal, you use one potion to heal 20 HP to the selected Pokemon. If you choose to shop, you can buy up to 5 items, which cost 250 Viz each. You can buy potions which will be stored for later use or HP/ATK/DEF candies which will be used right away and raise your pokemons stats.



Section 3: Sign up

So you want to play? That's great! All you have to do is reply here and list the 3 Pokemon you want to start with. You can pick any 2 starters from any generation including Pikachu and Eevee. The 3rd Pokemon has to be a starter that's exclusive to the Osmium region. Those Pokemon can be found in this thread.

Once we get a decent amount of users signed up, the game will begin in another thread, and like always there will be a big Viz prize.

I’ve only slightly participated in one of these, might as well try and fully participate in this one.

For my starters I’ll take Totodile, Turtwig, and Tyrifoal.

Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up this time

zanderlex : Nice that Pokemon Osmium thread is being brought back for the 4th season: SIgn me up! I might be able do it in some mornings and mostly all afternoon!

My 3 pokemon starters of choice are as follows:

Greninja(For attack and speed stat purposes)

Pikachu(It's Electric Attacks can help me out at this point)

Flamhare(Needed a good fire type)
