48 hours ago I was fine without having a switch.
24 hours ago I had a switch.

I bought Zelda, Xenoblade, and Minecraft, plus I pre ordered Pokemon Let's Go Eevee.

What other games are good?

I recently got a switch too, and they’re really cool.

I couldn’t recommend Super Mario Odyssey enough, it is absolutely a must for all switch owners. Even if you aren’t a huge Mario fan, it’s worth it.

I also have bomberman and Toads Treasure Tracker, both of which I like but are niche games.

Also make sure to save $80 for Smash when it comes out

zanderlex : Welcome to the Switch Club. I to also own a Nintendo Switch, and owned one for like 6 months, and my friend code is 3540-0618-1228 if you want to add me.

So far, the only games I have for the Switch is
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Pokken Tournament DX, Minecraft, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate (on pre-ordered right now)

Other than the games I mentioned, that's mostly all the good games I know.

I've got a Switch. I like it a lot. My xbone collects dust.

I have Mario Odyssey, Mario Rabbids, Mario Kart 8, Monopoly, Zelda, Splatoon 2, Toad's Treasure Tracker.

I like all of the games. My absolute favorite is still Zelda's Breath of the Wild. My least favorite would probably be Toad's, I like Toad as a character, but this game didn't really have a lot to it.

Mario Odyssey looks gorgeous, but a lot of the game is the collectibles and puzzles, and honestly once I unlocked everything, I was good as far finding hidden moons and picture puzzles. if you like that though, this is a great game for the levels.

Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon 2 are fun if you like their game styles, but with the Nintendo online thing coming out in a few days, you lose a lot if you can't go online play (moreso with Splatoon).

Mario Rabbids I was surprised to like, since its a Ubisoft Mario game, it has a lot of humor and plays tactically, like FF Tactics, Disgea and Valkyria.

I love the switch. The portability factor I was not expecting to be so good.

I recommend Splatoon 2 and Octopath Traveler.

Splatoon takes a few hours to get the hang of, but it then becomes one of the most intuitive and enjoyable shooters you'll play. OctopathTaveler is a MUST if you like old-school JRPGs like Final Fantasy. It's not a perfect game, but it's close, and it's everything the younger version of you dreamed of when playing FFVI.

As others have said Odyssey is a great experience, with TONS of post-game content -- if you'll still be interested. Personally, I have so many other games I haven't played yet that I decided to trade it in after finishing the main campaign. Not like me, since I love going for 100% completion, but I think it kind of gets on the tedious side after the main story. I'd recommend a break before going for the collection. (I only traded it cause Gamestop was offering an insane $48 and I paid $50 for it! Can always just buy it back without a loss at that rate lol)

If you're into Fire Emblem at all, I found I enjoyed Warriors way more than I thought I would. The Dynasty Warriors-type game didn't look appealing to me but there were enough FE mechanics to keep me around and I really enjoyed it. The special edition is out there at some places still for cheaper now, too, and well-worth it.

They also came out with Runner 3 (if you liked the Bit.Trip series's Runner games at all) and Sonic Mania Plus. Also great portable editions for your collection.

Tbh I'm not sure about anything newer than that as I've been replaying Radiant Dawn on the Wii and my Switch is collecting some dust lol. I do have Valkyria Chronicles 4 pre-ordered, though.

So I picked up Eevee and already put in about 10+ hours into it and did get Odyssey but haven't been able to play much.

I heard good things too about Mario Rabbids and Fire Emblem: Warriors so I want to get those some day.

A couple Final Fantasy games are being ported over to the Switch, I recall Final Fantasy VII and IX I think. I would recommend those when they come out since Final Fantasy games on the go seems really cool. Smash Ultimate is a given. Octopath Traveler is amazing and you should definitely get it. Luigi's Mansion 3 is also coming out next year and Metroid Prime 4 has been confirmed for it so there will be a lot more to choose from soon.

Like the others, I'll definitely recommend Octopath Traveler. I haven't beat it but I love about every part of the game as far in as I am. I'd also say Enter the Gungeon if you don't already ave that on another platform. I can sit there and play that game for hours at a time. Lots of random generation and lots of stuff to unlock and try out more than make up for there only being so many levels.

As far as games either out already or are coming out later this year. Super Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Octopath Traveler, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are games I'd recommend at this time. I'd also recommend preordering Smash Ultimate. (or prepurchase it on the eshop like I did)

Let's Go Pikachu is actually really really good surprisingly. They managed to implement a lot of neat functions from Pokemon Go even though I didn't enjoy Go. So far though, I've been absolutely loving Let's Go and it might be worth a try.

I didn't try the pokeball though since that's expensive.

Is it bad that I mostly got mine so I can play Smash Ultimate? I mean, i'll be putting as many titles I can (to save hard drive space) on it, but all I really cared about was smash bros.

kingvictory : First of all, I would suggest getting some of the bigger games on the cartridges. As weird as it sounds, it's a nice feeling of having the game in physical form. Secondly, Breath of the Wild, Octopath Traveller, and Splatoon 2 are all games I suggest you try. Also, if you like the harvest moon style games, Stardew Valley was released for it, and it makes much more sense on the switch than on the PC.

I might get Smash Ultimate, but that wouldn't be for a long time in case the game eventually drops the price. I just don't really see myself putting a lot of hours into singleplayer stuff. I might get bored after a while.

Though since I work at Gamestop, maybe I should just get it ASAP and get the discount.

What is OCtoPath about?

zanderlex: You would know better than I because of where you work, but I have a feeling you won't see SSBU drop in price for a very, very long time.

Octopath Taveller is an old-style JRPG, like the Final Fantasy games before VII. The art and graphics are inspired of that era of games, but really, very beautiful (see below). I think it's the best you can possibly do with that 16-bit-esque style.

It's voice acted (Japanese is an option), and the gameplay is very fun and intuitive, yet complex enough to keep you interested.

The story is probably the weaker point. It's about 8 travelers who each have their individual quests, but travel together. The story really doesn't focus on the characters relationship with each other... it's really like 8
different stories. The stories are good, but a little cliché, kinda like re-hashes of old FF games.

The music is also reminiscent of old style JRPGs, and very, very good.

It's a very solid, nostalgic JRPG with some faults.

Here is a pic of the art style:

So I went against my word and already got Smash Ultimate.

I had to sell the game to lots of people at Gamestop yesterday persuade them to buy it so I eventually convinced myself not to wait.

Light Knight : Yeah, prices for a Super Smash Bros game will rarely go down (mostly because the popularity of the series), like look at the last Smash game (Smash 3DS/Wii-U), the price stayed the same from launch date and only went down us$10 at the end of 2016.

IgorBird122 : Do you need the switch online membership if you want to play smash with someone who is close by too? I forget what that's called.

zanderlex: You can be able to play with someone via Local Wireless, as long as they also have a copy of Super Smash Bros Ultimate for their Nintendo Switch.

How to go to it, just press the "
ZR" button on the Main Menu (or just scroll to the far right where all those icons are), and select "Local Wireless", and the others has to do the same thing as well. You can play up to 4 people.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
