i want to know what everyones fear of weather is

tornados are my worst fear but for the last 20 years i have not seen any around my town
i also dislike thunderstorms especially when they are severe or strong during the night, it makes it almost impossible to sleep through anything like that without be startled by the loud thunder claps

my worst fear of weather is severe thunderstorms that have lightening or hail while the thunder part doesn,t bother me i am always afraid of the lightening and hail because of the damage they can sometimes cause but at least for the most part we don,t get any tornadoes although there has been the odd one out in the country in the past but luckily they have never resulted in anyone getting killed or hurt as for the city where i live we have never had any tornadoes but if we did that for me would be the most scariest as far as weather goes

Weather is not a problem for me as long as I am inside. If I have to travel I hate icy roads, rain and especially fog. I can't see a dam thing with all the fog early morning in pitch blackness on the highway in the middle of no where. There are no lights or anything. I hate driving when it is dark out cause my vision sucks and it can be terrifying not knowing where the road is.

Thunder can be frightening too, I somethings fear I may get struck by a bolt LOL! Hurricanes are no problem where I live there is no ocean 1000 miles in any direction of me. Tornadoes I am also not afraid of because they are pretty rare, I'm not far enough into the country to get any but you never know with weather, it can strike anywhere.

Oh speaking of snow, I always wanted a snow day growing up. The wait was long but worth it. It snowed so bad we got a snow week. That's right, no school for one entire week. We had 3-5 feet of snow! I like when it rains and snows, just as long as I don't gotta drive in it.

For me, it's any weather with a lot of rain. I just don't like rain in general, regardles of whether or not it's actually bad to others. Hate being out in rain too.

I've been in tornados, earthquakes, hurricanes... the only thing that really scares me is driving while there is snow on the road or it is snowing.

In my area, that would easily be Hurricanes, but if not hurricanes, it usually thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.

The biggest thing I mentioned is Hurricanes, because where I live, these can happen, like for an example, my hometown nearly got wiped off the map after Hurricane Katrina back in 2005, and this was the storm that caused me and my family to temporally move to another location 1,000 miles away for 7 years. But since Katrina, we got hit by 3 hurricanes (2008 Gustav, 2012 Issac, and 2017 Nate), but all 3 were weaker.

Other than hurricanes, my area gets a lot of Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall at times.

I have been in tornadoes and oddly they do not scare me. Severe Thunderstorms do not scare me. My area is prone to tornadoes and thunderstorms. I am also a weather forecaster

What really scares me when it comes to weather is droughts. Mainly because droughts cause things to dry out which can cause an inferno. Two years ago my area had a rare but very bad drought. It was so bad that at one time we were 24 inches below normal in rainfall. Things dried out and then we had fires. My area hardly ever has wildfires. People lost homes, businesses, lives and a lot of damage was done eco wise. The scars can still be seen today.

Another thing is flooding. My area sometimes gets floods. But I am afraid of deep water anyway because I have had family members drown. Flood waters can rise so quickly too.

As for a weather that I'm scared of, I would say that there isn't one. If I'm inside my house watching, I love bad weather, especially storms. We've had hurricanes and tornados and out of everything, the worst thing for me is just being outside when it's raining.

So really as long as there's rain, it's all the same to me.

My fear is getting caught in bad weather without no way of protecting myself. I've been through hurricanes, and severe weather. Also living in Florida during 2004-2005 and witnessing Hurricane Sandy.

The only weather I fear is tornadoes. I love thunderstorms, especially at night, though I do sometimes worry about this big tree that's leaning real badly falling on my house (it would hit my bedroom if it fell) when it rains heavily for several days.

Perfect weather for me is rain and storms. Yes, I even enjoy severe storms. I hate super sunny days.

Eirinn : You're almost like me strangely when it comes to thunderstorms and all, even in fact, my whole dream one day is to become a storm chaser and all, but the only thing that is stopping me from fulfilling my dream is the amount of traveling and amount of gas I'll be burning, if it wasn't for those factors, I would be chasing storms today.

Well, I guess the best thing is to sit here and wait for a hurricane to head my way, although my area hasn't got hit with a major hurricane since Katrina in 2005, so it is kinda overdue.

In my opinion, the worst weather conditions are either light snow or direct sunshine. When it's just a light dusting of snow, everything is slippery and it will turn to ice, but it's not near enough to go sledding or build a snowman or snow cave. I like snow, I really do. Earlier this year it snowed a lot, so me and my friends built a snow cave in my igloo and slept overnight, which was fun. But when the ground is just topped with a light dusting, it's all the negatives of snow and none of the positives.

As for direct sunshine, I hate it because it's hot and it hurts. Here in Utah, the altitude is very high. We have the third highest elevation in the U.S., only behind Wyoming and Colorado. Because of that, when there's no clouds in the summer, the UV radiation levels are very high and it's usually 95-100 every day where I live. I'll get very sunburned just by going outside for half an hour (though there are multiple factors that contribute to that).
