down where I live we have an event that happens about three times a year called a curbside giveaway during this time people are allowed to put out on the boulevard anything they have that they want to get rid of such as any old computer monitors, furniture or small appliances as well as anything else that other people can use except for mattresses or anything else that is not sanitary to give away anyone who is giving things away takes their stuff out to their boulevard and puts a free note on it and there are usually some people who drive around looking to see what people are giving away I remember about a year or two ago I was looking for one of the older box type monitors for an older computer that I had at the time and I happened to find one on a boulevard that someone was giving away which was about three blocks away from where I live but because I don,t have a car I carried the monitor home not knowing whether or not it would work but once I got it connected to my computer and plugged into a socket I found out that there was nothing wrong with it  I also read in one of my local newspapers about a young couple who were looking for furniture and they happened to find a kitchen table and chairs that someone was giving away they also showed a picture in the paper of the table and chairs that the couple found and they were just like new with no scratches or marks on them tomorrow they are having a curbside giveaway and I plan on giving away a computer chair as well as a few other things that I don,t need anymore and while we do have second hand stores such as value village and the salvation army I would rather put them on the boulevard instead of give them to the stores so they can sell them at least this way if someone really needs them they won,t have to buy them from any of the thrift stores. has anyone ever heard of a curbside giveaway?

I can't say I've heard of a curb side giveaway but it really sounds like a cool event. It would be awesome if they did that everywhere.
