I think it's already been about 10 years since I first discovered this site after clicking "next page" on Google countless times, looking for a way to play Pokemon Silver without downloading anything. And now whenever anyone mentions emulation or anything like that, I always mention this site. And it's now a top search result!

I've been absent myself (not like I was ever terribly active to begin with, though) as I've seen a decline in the amount of topics to glance at or reply to. Social media and technology is also constantly changing, though, and Twitter is now an official means of communication for the White House.... Point being you can hardly blame yourself for people shifting focus lately. I do agree about the atmosphere of the site, though, and hope it continues to live on.

On the topic of fixing bugs, I wasn't even able to type a response until I hit "Switch to New Post Editor." Yet it looks exactly the same ... weird.

Just remember that all you can is your best, and take care of yourself.

I start my 12 hour a day work week today which means I wont be able to get around to reading and responding to these messages until Monday. Just wanted make sure you all knew that I wasn't putting it all off to the side. I appreciate all of the responses and support

I am not certain if my words will provide any comfort, but I want you and your family to receive more joyous, peaceful days sir. I apologise what has occurred for you, and I suggest to provide time to be calm and not stress from your tasks.

In relation to the replacing some of staff, I apologise that I had to revoke my status since conflict began to accelerate toward my relatives in 2014 to this day. I immensely enjoy Vizzed and continue to want the site to grow, but as a result from the problem in my neighborhood I will not be regularly attentive as I formerly was. I await to see more helpful staff to assist Vizzed and the community here.

I guess I've gotten control of my ADHD. I used to be more hyper when I was younger. Now it's just about my Autism and Asperger syndrome. But I'm here for you, man!

If you'll make the effort to be more involved in the community, and fix the issues currently plaguing the site, then I suppose, so will I, at least on the former front.

I got to this a little later than I wanted. I sometimes only get around 2 hours of sleep on Monday mornings and just had too much of a headache to reply to anything.

Furret : I've said it many times before but I've had this site for so long and have invested so much into it that it's become a huge part of my life and is almost like a child that I've raised for quite a long time.


luigi25 : I've had this site for about half of my life and so I would never consider giving up on the site. I still view it as my future and I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to make a full time income off of the site again someday.


ScarTheScarab : It's not a high priority at the moment but I definitely do want to get the Minecraft server back up and running.


Momo Aria : I vaguely remember that incident but feel really bad about not getting more involved. There's a lot of things on the site that need to be fixed or need my attention and I get flooded with messages and so sometimes I shut down mentally or put things off to the side which often results into me forgetting about the urgent things I should be taking care of. I appreciate the apology though and I'm sorry also

Also, people really thought this site once made millions? Where do people come up with these crazy facts.


Eniitan : Thanks. Btw, I noticed you had sent me some messages a while back. I feel so terrible that I haven't read or responded to them yet but I'll get there. Hopefully sooner rather than later but I just wanted to make it clear that I do care about each of the members of the site


EX Palen : A staff restructure would have allowed all of the current staff to reapply to their current positions. It was more of a way to be more involved in the hiring process (I'm pretty disconnected with the staff at the moment) and to assist in the redirection that I'm going to be taking the site. If the staff is fine though then maybe I wont mess with the idea of rebuilding it. Anyways, I appreciate the support.


danielbelitch : Traditional forums like this one have mostly died out and so that makes it difficult to draw new users in or to give old users a reason to keep using the site.


CryBaby : I don't expect the veteran users to all remain active like they once were but it's always great when they visit the site from time to time. Too many past users and friends have completely abandoned the site and so it's always sad as a forum owner to never hear from them ever again.


legacyme3 : It'll be a slow transition since I have to find a sense of organization and figure out a way to go about all of the stuff that I have to do (fixing stuff, responding to messages, taking care of notifications, etc) without getting burnt out again but I definitely will not be prioritizing site development over the community. I'm starting to get a routine going with my current real life schedule so once I'm more in control of that, I'll more easily be able to take better control over my online schedule. It shouldn't take long but it definitely makes it difficult to transition every week from 12 hour a day night shift to waking up earlier to take care of my kids and website. Prioritizing what I invest my time into I think will make a big difference.

I think it's smart to put development on the backburner.

To be honest, what you have here is enough for a site to theoretically be active and viable, but retention, especially on the forum, is an issue (I can't see retention numbers in the RGR, but I would assume they are fine).

I have no idea what can be done besides relentless marketing of the site to older members, increased effort with bringing in newbie members (maybe offer extra incentives for people to go hunting for new registrations), and keeping them on site (because newbie retention on the forums in particular is really low), and a little elbow grease here and there.

I do have some hope though. Good luck.

Davideo: I am not really too particularly upset about you not replying back to my pm messages because I know you are a busy man. I will do my best to be active like I once was instead of just lurking around a bit.  ^-^

As someone who has one awesome parent and one crappy parent I can say that the best thing you can do to help with your happiness levels is spending time with your wife and kids. You dont need to do some great grand gesture to try and win them over, just do all the little things to make them happy and feel together and like a real stable family. I dont like my dad and have no wish to spend any amount of time with him and it is because he never earned my respect or gave much of a damn about what was going on in my life. Dont ever let things get to that point with your kids. You get to a point where theres no turning back if you lose that connection with your kids so be there for them and support them and show an effort and interest in their interests and genuinely love them as opposed to just saying it. Prove it. The same goes for your wife, she wants the little things and the connection and the respect and the mutual interests and the chemistry.

I wish you luck in battling with your struggles, but you have what you need right in front of you to get you out of it. Helping your family get through tough times will in turn help you get through tough times and get closer to your family, and the happiness will grow.


As far as the site goes, get the general chatroom going and people will return each day to embrace the community that vizzed is and then site traffic will slowly pick up. Get netplay going as well (even if you have to use a different site to get the various systems working) to help boost the charm of this site, it was always my favourite part.

Be more chill about rules as well, like letting us be a little more adult (I got temporarily banned for saying damn once). I understand you wanting this site to be friendly for everyone, but theres adult situations all over the internet that people have full access to from their various sources, so dont be so strict regarding that.

Like I said before, take care of yourself, and I completely understand treating the site as your child. I'm like this with my own fanfics to a point where I sometimes neglect everything in favor of them. I did learn that the one thing my readers and followers like more than me updating my works is hearing I've taken a break to take care of myself. 

People who dislike the site and / or staff for any reason tend to say a lot of wild things. I've seen people in the past claim you're arrogant and brag a lot, just as much as I hear and seen people claim I love to flirt and seduce other members, or call my boyfriend a pedophile (okay, I guess that made a tiny bit of sense, when looking at the circumstances without investigating, but still). It's both funny and just strange, and by the end of the day, your dedication to the site is wonderful and admirable, but also (and repeating myself), take care of yourself too and spend time with your family.

I comprehend and sympathize with that feeling, hence my reason I believe I must apologise for not being a dutiful moderator when I had the position. I tried to remain active and assist the site, but too many life threatening obstacles harassed my relatives and I, but I will not speak further in that topic since I do not want to be disrespectful and converse of my problems.

That will be a joy for the past users and staff to be active again, but if that will not be a reality, I hope to see current or new members vivify the activity of Vizzed. I hope your days are going with ease currently and not affected with stress.

legacyme3 : The site has been pretty steady over the past half year, maybe a very tiny decline but it's at least not dropping by any considerable amount. Months from now when I've gotten more active in the community again, I'll finish up the mobile optimization of the site and promote that the games are playable on mobile devices.

My wife has been seeing more opportunities at the place I'm currently working at than I have experienced since I've been working there and I've been there nearly 1 1/2 years longer. She's still just a temp there but I'm thinking that she'll be making enough once she gets hired on for me to possibly quit that place and to continue working on the site full time again. I think in about 4-7 months I might be able to be in a position to quit my job and make Vizzed full time again but we'll see. Either way I have to make some serious changes before the 2018-2019 school year because my kids up until this point have always been home taught but now that my wife works full time, she's not able to get as much time doing it anymore and I just don't have the time to keep it going so we've been thinking about sending them to public school in the upcoming school year which would mean I'd have to either quit my job or find a different position there because working 5th shift would mean I'd never see them since I'm working a night shift for 12 hours a day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm feeling pretty optimistic for the summer of 2018

bobq : Wow, yeah I've never understood how a father could not want to have a big part in the lives of his kids. Most of the time, if a child has a bad relationship with the parent, it's usually the parents fault. Despite my flaws, my kids seem to adore me (my daughter sometimes cries when I have to go to work and start my work week) and that relationship is only temporary (because they'll eventually move out and I'll see them far less) so I try to make the best of the time I have with them, even if it's not nearly as much as I wish it could be or use to be.

You have some very wise words, definitely helps out at a time like this and helps me put things into perspective.

I agree that the chat room and netplay lobby are the things that need the most fixing the most urgently. I will try and prioritize that in the upcoming week. As for mature conversations, there are forums appropriate for it and as long as that stuff is in the appropriate place, I see no harm in it.


Momo Aria : Honestly, that's not me at all and I would love to know the source of that. I don't recall ever bragging and I don't really view myself as arrogant. I'm not sure how I come off as being on the internet but in person I'm pretty humble and almost never talk about myself unless someone has asked. Most people at work have no idea I even have a website or that I've had success with it. There have been a couple of streams where I can see that maybe I've come off as arrogant but I tend to make the streams interesting by throwing out a few jokes and treating it light heartedly for entertainment purposes. Humor doesn't always translate well on the internet.

Anyways, that's good feedback because it lets me know what I have to work on and tells me how I can better portray myself online.


CryBaby : Not sure if I already mentioned it in this thread but I plan to send out a newsletter in the upcoming months regarding all the changes of the site that have taken place in the past year, specifically the mobile friendly games. I think that might help bring back some users, or at least temporarily for a boost in traffic and if I maintain active during that time, which I plan to be, then some of those members that come back to visit might stick around. Btw, sleep medicine is starting to kick in so hopefully I didn't suddenly start not making sense lol.

I will be joyous if the newsletter and the mobile games will be helpful. Once situations in my life become calm again (hopefully), I will try to continue to advertise and ask people to join the site as I used to when I was active. I hope your days are filling with ease and relaxation. 

CryBaby : I'm already feeling a little more relaxed with the new direction. Working on new features or expanding current features can get overwhelming, especially when I feel rushed to get them finished or am having troubles finding the time to finish them. When I have features in the works, it's often hard for me to concentrate or focus on other things because all I want to do is continue working on those features and that can be very problematic when it's a feature that takes weeks or months to develop.

I was already feeling more relaxed in last night's music stream and was present almost the entire time which is a great sign I'm still transitioning to being more active in the Vizzed community since I'm still working on getting a new routine situated and having to finish up a few little things here and there but I'm slowly getting there.

I have ADHD and Aspergers myself, (Aspergers is the high form of autism) and I'm not sure if I can be much help. I tend to keep a routine going where things happen sorta in a weird order but it doesn't work out. I haven't been able to get on here as much because of it but I'll try to get on a little more.
You do a great job just coming to the site. Like the other person said, things are meant to move forward, but that doesn't mean dive into it. Take your time and enjoy yourself. Your happiness is more important in my opinion and the site is in pretty good shape. Also sorry if my grammar is not exactly right, I loved writing class while in school but always had trouble with putting my thoughts on paper and wording things properly. Now a days I usually just type what comes to mind and hope it sounds ok. Because of you I got to relive some of my childhood with these old awesome video games. You sound like you don't think you're doing enough but in my eyes, you've done something amazing I don't think I could do even if I wanted to. Guess all that's left to say is just thank you . . . . . . thank you for do so much, thank you for thinking of all of us, and thank you for just being here.

Also like I said earlier sorry for not getting on. Another reason I have had trouble getting on is my laptop has been really slow just starting up that after logging in, it takes between 15 minutes and a couple of hours just to run smooth enough to get around.
