I'm not into the series, but seemingly the very last season has been confirmed for 2019.

Many things can change until then. This series is such a piggybank, so I doubt this will be the true end. We will probably be getting a spin-off driving away from Martin's novels, if the last seasons haven't drifted away too much already. We have too many examples out there, be it TV series, movies and even anime, so GoT will be milked until exhaustion and even beyond that.

Rest assured, because winter will keep on coming.

I would be kind of happy if they didn't move on with the main series. Give it a concrete ending with S8 and then see what other stories can be made.

I stopped at the end of season 3 because that's all the app that I was using in 2015 had at the time. Is the show worth getting back into at this point? I've heard some good things, and some bad things about it as well.

I unfortunately saw on Facebook today that the "Final Season" will not come out until 2019. It will consist of 6 episodes, which I'm assuming will hopefully mean that the episodes themselves will be longer than normal. I can't imagine a season will only 6 episodes, each an hour long. I am expecting some of them will be 90 minutes, possibly longer. But it said that season 8 is the final season. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I'm hearing all kinds of things confirming its end. It sucks for me because its the first show in a LONG time that's actually held my attention throughout the entire thing.

I just recently watched all 7 seasons (right after season 7 came out I think) and I really enjoyed the show.

thing1 : it is definitely worth watching. Season's 4 and 5 have some of the best stuff in them.



I would also love a spin-off series. Maybe do a series around Robert's rebellion or something even older than that. There is enough material in the books to come up with multiple things that could be done as spin-off series that would be interesting.
