Pokemon Fire Red
First of all, Pokemon Fire Red is the first video game that I have ever owned. I got it (along with a silver GBA SP) for my eighth birthday. I lost my game, got a new one, found my old one, and game it to my friend. My current starter is Blastoise, and I have a Pikachu, a Charizard, a Butterfree, a Vileplume, and a Scyther. But enough about me, onto the review!
Graphics: 7 The Graphics were, overall, great for a GBA game. Every trainer has his or her own rematch sprites (such as jumping up and down, raising their hands, etc.) and the terrain looks very realistic. My only complaint is that your character looks disappointingly boxy, while everyone else looks smooth and realistic.
Sound: 8 I love the songs in this game, and even sometimes find myself humming them. The only reason that I didn't give it a full 10 is because of the little beeping noises every time you do something.
Addictiveness: 7 I, personally, have started around 4 different games on one pack. You might not think that beating the same game twice is very fun, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There are also minute differences if you play as a boy or a girl, but I won't divulge them in case you want to discover them yourself. You don't? Too bad.
Story: 7 The story is pretty much your standard Pokemon story. Some creepy old dude asks you to run a long and grueling errand for nothing in return. Old, but nice. (I guess.)
Depth: 8 This game is fairly long. Figure 20 to 40 HOURS of gaming to beat the primary story, and an additional 10 to 20 to beat the secondary one. After that, you still have to figure out how to complete your Pokedex. Good luck, and a hint is that you need at least three games, and at least one of each Fire Red and Leaf Green.
Difficulty: 3 Sadly, this is the downside of every Pokemon game. They do take a while to beat, but every trainer (apart from the Elite Four) is stupidly easy. And even if you'r... Read the rest of this Review
