Buck Rogers - Countdown to Doomsday 02-06-12 12:50 PM |
My All-Time Favorite! SO happy to find this game here! Spent a small fortune renting it back in the day, before my daughter found a copy for me on e-Bay. Have finished it half a dozen times but here I am, back for another go-round. For me, this game never grows old, never seems 'dated'. I love wandering through space and fighting with the spacecrafts encountered there; it's a lovely 'side mission' apart from the storyline (which is detailed and interesting even on my 7th or 8th go-round with this game). So much fun experimenting with different armies and rolling stats to come up with the best possible characters in various combinations. I simply cannot recommend this game highly enough! Very, very habit-forming. More about this game: You create a team and are sent through the universe on missions. Creating different teams (with varying races, job classes and abilities) and testing their effectiveness contributes greatly to the addictiveness (and replay-ability) of this game. The music and graphics are old school Sega Genesis, so they leave a little to be desired. But the storyline and the universe you travel in are vast and richly detailed. The battle sequences can be set to 'Auto Battle' or you can move the characters around and choose their weapons and targets. The game is challenging but not so difficult as to make your head meet your keyboard in frustration. I did not use a walkthrough the first time I finished this game but I use one now, to find all of the smalle... Read the rest of this Review |
