Smash T.V. (rev 8.00) 08-10-17 03:35 PM |
Biiig money! Biiig prizes! III LOVE IT!! |
Darius R 08-01-17 08:22 PM |
Correcting my earlier statement: Likely not actually midis, I'm just reminded of midis for some reason (some things about some tracks do sound off though), plus I at least think the boss music was replaced. Can't be too sure, tbh. |
Darius R 08-01-17 08:11 PM |
Only gripes about this port of the original Darius: Last two sets of zones are missing, some of the midis could be better, and while the new boss music isn't bad, it would have been nice to have the original boss music. Oh, and music placement is off. |
Asteroids 06-01-17 03:48 PM |
I didn't expect Atari of all people to request game removal. What. |
Puyo Puyo 04-13-17 11:36 PM |
Mean Bean Machine GG is a hack of this game confirmed. Just played it and every element from MBMGG is here: all four gamemodes, p-kid/bean graphics, some backgrounds. |
Puyo Puyo 04-13-17 11:33 PM |
Compile must have used this exact game as a base for Mean Bean Machine on the Game Gear. It could very well be a hack of this, at least, judging from the familiar graphics. |
Raiden Trad 04-13-17 10:28 PM |
This is actually a pretty bad port...I'd give it a 5 or 6 at best. |
Mega Bomberman 04-12-17 09:53 PM |
Yep. And it's a darn good port by Westone, despite some minor graphical stuff missing and a little bit of slowdown. |
Gunbird 2 04-12-17 09:01 PM |
What the...why the low rating? Are the ratings just from people having issues with NullDC? This is a good port. |
Gradius Galaxies 04-06-17 09:27 PM |
I HATE ROTATING WALL!! Seriously, I'd rather go up against Elephant Gear than THAT Shadow Dancer-type boss!! (In memory of all that got crushed every time they faced Rotating Wall.) |
Bomberman '94 04-06-17 08:52 PM |
OK, I seriously need to keep on the lookout for the Sega port by Westone. Gonna sound brilliant on my Model 1 Genesis, especially with my Bluetooth speaker hooked up to it! You can never go wrong with Bomberman, unless the game's Act Zero!! |
Xevious 03-26-17 08:17 PM |
I think this is actually a prototype...but I will agree it's not exactly the BEST 2600 game of all. |
Truxton 03-26-17 08:15 PM |
Hey, hang on...having the arcade games and the Genesis version of the first is great and all, but where's Taito's PC-Engine port of Truxton? That one was good too! |
Lightening Force - Quest for the Darkstar 03-11-17 08:12 PM |
I do have to wonder why Thunder Force IV had to be renamed for its US release... |
Neo Bomberman 03-11-17 06:08 PM |
This is embarrassing...I didn't realize, at the time, that I'd simply left MAME set at the wrong region! All good now. (facepalms to himself) |
R-Type III - The Third Lightning 03-10-17 10:07 PM |
Dat screwed-up soundtrack tho...why didn't Irem have Jaleco handle this version like with the SNES game or just develop it themselves?! The music would have sounded so much better, I'm sure of it. |
Galaxy Force 2 03-07-17 12:56 AM |
AWESOME GAME. Although with the way MAME and my computer are getting along, maybe I should buy the 3DS port if I'm to play the arcade version...Oh well, the Genesis port will do for now. It's good enough. |
Mobile Light Force 02-01-17 09:45 PM |
The 4.6 rating I see here...Considering how butchered this port of GunBird is, there are three words to describe the rating, and they are, as Ashens would say: A FITTING PUNISHMENT! |
Blazing Star 01-27-17 11:19 PM |
Totally. Epic soundtrack, epic graphics, epic everything. I need to buy the iPad port sometime! |
Star Ship 01-27-17 11:17 PM |
Then I'm here to help after 6 years! Star Ship: up is down and vice versa, FIRE to shoot at enemies. Other player--FIRE to go inviz. Warp Drive: hold FIRE to speed up. Lunar Lander: FIRE over moon to land on it. And that's it! Glad to be of service. |
Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi 01-16-17 07:51 PM |
Cave Company awesomeness. Now if only they would localize this game and release it worldwide! Maybe something along the lines of Death Label, but for 3DS and New 3DS. I'd certainly put it on my wish list. |
Battle Garegga - Type 2 (Europe + USA + Japan + Asia) (Sat Mar 2 1996) 12-27-16 03:26 PM |
The original, rev.2016, and Saturn soundtracks beat the heck out of the majority of the Remix 2016 soundtrack in the PS4 port. No contest. |
Monster World IV (english translation) 12-15-16 09:04 PM |
Sega totally should have released this for the original Genesis back in '94, rather than wait until Virtual Console, etc.'s existence. Oh well, at least it got an official worldwide release which I am so getting on Wii VC! Just need to get an eShop card... |
Neo Bomberman 09-23-16 08:40 PM |
Please put the USA version (English text version) on here. Thanks! |
Salamander 2 (ver AAB) 09-23-16 08:38 PM |
Neither ROM for this game is working, which is a shame. |
Nemesis 3 - The Eve of Destruction 08-20-16 09:57 PM |
Personally, I'd prefer if this site ran BlueMSX...or even better, OpenMSX! I mean, let's be honest: with MSX stuff, MESS is a huge mess. |
Battle Garegga 08-20-16 09:04 PM |
An awesome game with an awesome soundtrack with an even more awesome remixed soundtrack makes for an awesome experience. Raizing rules! |
Sagaia 07-20-16 04:42 PM |
"WARNING! A HUGE BATTLESHIP '(insert boss name here)' IS APPROACHING FAST." Heheh. Shmups like this never get old, and will always be loved. That's for sure. |
Gradius III (World, program code R) 06-11-16 06:40 PM |
This one is just as unfair and unwelcoming to newbies as everyone said. ARGH. |
Gradius II - GOFER no Yabou (Japan New Ver.) 06-11-16 06:30 PM |
Graphics on this version and VV are messed up |
Gradius 4: Fukkatsu 06-11-16 06:28 PM |
Not counting the Amstrad and ZX Spectrum versions of Gradius and Salamander *cough cough* those were horrible *cough* |
Gradius 4: Fukkatsu 06-11-16 06:28 PM |
Aw man...game isn't working. Wish I had a PS2 and G3&4 or a PSP and Gradius Collection. But anyway, soundtrack isn't the most fitting but still excellent like always! Just like the games themselves. |
Gradius Gaiden 05-31-16 04:34 PM |
Is this game no longer available to play? |
Salamander 05-15-16 06:46 PM |
Kinda superior to the westernized (US/PAL) version for having 4 options, a slightly better soundtrack, and multiple endings and actual credits. But the LF version is good too, of course. |
Gradius Galaxies 05-15-16 06:07 PM |
Now if only Konami hadn't switched to their other sound engineers for this game...oh well, there are still some pretty good tunes nonetheless. |
Silver Surfer 05-15-16 04:46 PM |
Which game do you guys think is harder: this game or Gradius 3 Arcade? |
Gradius 4: Fukkatsu 05-14-16 05:37 PM |
Hey Diamond, keep in mind Gradius IV came out BEFORE V. Like, 3 years before. The graphics are fine to me anyway. |
Gradius II - Gofer no Yabou 05-10-16 06:26 PM |
OMG yes! I've been waiting for this! Thanks! |
Dynamite Headdy (english translation) 05-01-16 05:25 PM |
Wonderful graphics, animations, music, and gameplay. Best game on the Genesis besides Sonic 3 & Knuckles. |
Salamander (version D) 04-23-16 05:19 PM |
OMG! Just found out--fail to destroy the four points holding Zelos in place, and when you escape the base...YOU WILL BE TELEPORTED BACK TO THE VOLCANO AREA! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! (down with the Bacterians!) |
Salamander (version D) 04-23-16 04:47 PM |
THOSE #$^%%&$ STROBES! |
Salamander 2 (ver JAA) 04-23-16 04:16 PM |
Short, but amazing! SHOOT THE CORE! |
Vulcan Venture (New) 04-23-16 03:52 PM |
The graphics are a little glitchy here! |
Super Fantasy Zone 04-23-16 03:47 PM |
Timeline: Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone II, Super Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone Gear (Story timeline) Release timeline: Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone II, FZ Gear, SFZ |
Neo Bomberman 04-23-16 02:46 PM |
Is this the English version? Btw, can someone please translate the red Japanese text that comes onscreen immediately after the stage bonuses have been added up? |
Saturn Bomberman 04-23-16 02:43 PM |
Fan-freaking-tastic addition to the series! Nothing can top this! |
Bomberman '93 04-23-16 02:35 PM |
For those wondering, the start button is the run button. You know, it's pretty nice how after defeating the bosses, Bomberman actually becomes friends with them. I guess after the last boss, you could say Black Bomberman finally knew the error of his ways. |
Vulcan Venture (New) 04-23-16 02:27 PM |
Europe-only release. I have no idea why Konami changed the name for this version. |
Gradius II - GOFER no Yabou (Japan New Ver.) 04-23-16 02:25 PM |
Definitely one of the more balanced Gradius games out there. Oh hey, please add the PC-Engine Super CD version of the game sometime; it's great! |
Star Parodier 04-23-16 02:22 PM |
Based off of Star Soldier. It's a fantastic game, and while the Fantasy Star Soldier version wasn't released officially, we still got good ol' SP released on Virtual Console here in America, as well as Europe. |
Gradius II 04-21-16 08:45 PM |
Also, screw you Nintendo of America and your only use the default sound mapper rule. This is their excuse for not allowing Gimmick and Gradius II NES overseas. Dunno why Europe refused these titles and some others in certain countries. |
Gradius II 04-21-16 08:43 PM |
I was just playing this. Two notes: Konami, why the HECK is the hitbox bigger than the Vic Viper?! ...&...My first run of this port=EPIC. FREAKIN'. FAIL!!! |
Gradius Generation 02-21-16 04:31 PM |
Lags the most on emulators. Not so much on an actual GBA. By the way, why Konami excluded the challenge stages from the EU/USA versions of this game, I don't know. |
Gradius 4: Fukkatsu 02-21-16 04:29 PM |
At least it isn't unfair especially during recovery like G3 Arcade. |
Gradius Gaiden 02-21-16 04:26 PM |
Awesome game. I wish I had a Beta Ticket myself! |
Nemesis 3 - The Eve of Destruction 02-21-16 03:31 PM |
Um...could someone help me get the game working? |
Gradius III (World, program code R) 02-19-16 03:53 PM |
Welcome to Bullet Hell, everyone. Thank God for the SNES version and the difficulty settings that can be changed in the PS2 and PSP versions. |
Gradius III 02-17-16 03:12 PM |
By the way, fun fact: When I was younger and played the MSX versions via a Java based emulator, I didn't even realize you had to press another key to actually equip power-ups! Guess how long I lasted in space! LOL XD |
Gradius III 02-17-16 03:11 PM |
ACESpark from YouTube partially inspired me to get back in there and start playing Nemesis/Gradius again. Boss Recovery Runs...I am so not ready for those, despite not being at all rusty since playing the MSX games. |
Gradius III 02-17-16 03:08 PM |
Both versions of this game are very outstanding, but the Arcade and PS2 releases are the most bullet-hellish of all! Glad I started playing this version first. Good to be back in the Vic Viper after so much time away from the series! |
Salamander 01-29-16 08:38 PM |
The ending is so hard to get here! Nemesis 2 in slot 2, then find every Prediction chapter and the Crystal Breeze power-up, then kill Venom after all that, then proceed through the rest of the game. ACESpark hated having to do that in his Boss Run on YT :/ |
Salamander 01-29-16 08:35 PM |
The music for this and Gradius 2 sound ungodly with only PSG sound playing. Maybe Parodius too. At least Gradius 3's tunes are somewhat recognizable without SCC enabled. |
Gradius 2 01-29-16 08:32 PM |
I now know that the reason why the music was bad on SMS is because Zemina was only able to port the PSG sound. And on the MSX, not having SCC enabled meant the PSG music sucked for Nemesis 2 and later games, being the only one used. |
K-16 - Story of Steel 01-24-16 11:09 PM |
Excellent romhack! |
K-16 - Story of Steel 01-24-16 11:09 PM |
???????? |
Fantasy Zone II - The Tears of Opa-Opa (System 16C version) 01-21-16 04:36 PM |
Even better than the original FZII! Who has the 3DS (or PS2?) remake? |
Fantasy Zone II - Opa-Opa no Namida 01-21-16 04:35 PM |
Music is pretty high-pitched though. Also, seems Sunsoft didn't do as well with the graphics compared to their first FC port. But I like it anyway. |
Fantasy Zone 01-21-16 04:33 PM |
Wait a minute...Opa-Opa Jr? So this takes place after SFZ...oh well. (JP name is Fantasy Zone Gear Opa Opa Jr no Bouken) Ignore my previous fanfiction then. |
Fantasy Zone 01-21-16 04:28 PM |
Although I suppose Opa-Opa does (SPOILER ALERT) manage to only find one of the leader's partners-in-crime. |
Fantasy Zone 01-21-16 04:26 PM |
Fantasy Zone Gear. Grew up with this installment. I have an idea for a possible in-game storyline for this (why not include one anyway, Sega?) Since this came before Super FZ, it has to do with FZII's ending's big question: Who is the Menons' leader? |
Fantasy Zone 01-21-16 04:22 PM |
Music could have been better. I do like the boss edits when it comes to attacks, though! Nothin' like some variety. MSX version of FZII is still better, having better music but removing the boss rush stage, which is too bad since they kept it for this one |
Parodius (english translation) 01-21-16 04:20 PM |
That Engrish tho ACESpark may not like it for some design choices, but I don't mind. It was Konami's first Parodius game ever, after all. Gokujyou is a little better designed though |
Gradius 2 01-21-16 04:10 PM |
Actually, this was a pretty good game. The choppy scrolling is just the MSX being the MSX. X68000's extras were nice though, but the best version of the soundtrack is right here. Anyone know if this version is also the beta version? |
Nemesis 3 - The Eve of Destruction 01-21-16 04:05 PM |
The finest of the Gradius MSX games. I'm thinking of maybe making a Gradius fangame picking up where this left off. |
Nemesis 2 01-21-16 01:04 AM |
*making |
Nemesis 2 01-21-16 01:03 AM |
Nemesis 1: MSX-perfect, but notes were used for percussion, amking music sound a bit weird at times. Nemesis 2: WHAT. ZEMINA?! Why use Pentarou in Metalion's place? The music isn't good, just notes randomly thrown together. Some SFX missing. More lives. |
Nemesis 2 01-21-16 01:00 AM |
Yep. This is the beta. Those screenshots of the temple stage and the crystal lizard enemy say it all. Hey, anyone remember Zemina's attempts at porting Nemesis 1 and 2 for MSX over to Sega Master System? |
