Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Review by: mikakatu55 - 10/10

The 3D remake of the 20th century
Intro
I would like to start out by saying that out of all the MGS games out there MGS3 is my favorite. Compare to the other MGS games this one is probably the most interactive. Metal Gear Solid 3D is simply the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 but it's portable and 3D; what could be better? The story, difficulty, and music is all the same but there are a few differences and conveniences that make this game worth it.
Story: 10
I'll start off with the story since the series has an amazing and elaborate story. You start off as an experienced CIA soldier by the name of Jack who has a mission to rescue a scientist held by the Soviet Union[Keep in mind this takes place during the Cold War and to clear any confusion you're playing as Naked Snake(Big Boss)]. As you start you have talk to an old mentor called The Boss(The Joy) who at first appears to help you the whole way but after rescuing and escorting the scientist to safety you encounter her. Seeing as it's The Boss you really have no worry but things doesn't seem right. She reveals to defect to the Soviet Union. You have a new mission now and it's called Operation Snake Eater. It also gives you them feels all the time. That's all I'll reveal but so far it's sound freakin' sweet and you should really play the game to find out more. As the story progresses it becomes more and more interesting which is why I gave it a 10.
Difficulty 8
To rate the difficulty is a little tricky. It really depends how you play the game. At the end of every game you get a title of how you played the game(I.e the amount of alerts you had or how many times you died or even if you discovered/caught little secrets). If you just progress through the story with no stealth what so ever then it's quite easy but if you play in Extreme mode then it's one hard game to beat. Buy the game and I dare you to play in Extreme mode, in that mode if you get caught then game over, so stealth is required! Since it's tricky to play these games I averaged it out to an 8.
Sound 10
The sound track of this game remake is just as wonderful as the original. I never get tired of listening to the "Snake Eater" song. The sound track is brilliant and enhances the emotion that the game brings out of you. Aside from the music but the setting in the game is usually at a jungle and you do hear many unique animal sounds. You could hear the birds whistling and the other strange sounds that sort of creeps me out.
Graphic 8
The graphics is not bad for a 3DS system. If you love a game with fantastic graphics then I suggest playing the HD collection version. If your eyes could handle it then it's amazing to sneak behind enemy lines in 3D! The graphics are actually pretty good along with the colors that really brings out the jungle settings. I gave it an 8.
Addictiveness 10
With the story, music, and depth this is the type of game that you'll want to play again and again. A lot of times you'll want to accomplish or try to discover things that you couldn't before. Or even try to beat the game in a different way. When I said this game was interactive I wasn't kidding, whatever you do does effect of what happens in the future. Some soldiers are better off alive than dead. Some parts are easier if you try to disguise rather than hiding in a box and walk behind someone all day. But something in the game gives you the feeling to play it over and over again, so I give it a 10.
Depth 10
Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater offers many things. Whether it's minor or major it does offer a lot. You could toy with the soldiers by making them "shake" their supplies by creeping behind them. CQC is a really awesome and strategic way to use your stealth and knowledge. For example if you use CQC on someone you could get some answers like "The fire support is 193.7...." if you use that than the area could be cleared by water bombs being dropped everywhere. Or if you use TNT on the food supply room and come back you'll hear soldier say"I'm hungry" you could distract them with food you caught(even rotten food is not wasted as it could poison hungry enemies) which they'll say"look! Munchies!".
Overall 10
This game is just simply amazing. So amazing that it gives me pants comfort issues(especially with EVA). But aside from that with amazing music, unrivaled story, and with much to offer all re-mastered within a portable device then it's crazy not to want this game. It's not even expensive it's around the $20 range or so. So buy the game, slap it into your 3DS and....have a grand ole' time. Jeez, I feel like Egoraptor talking about Megaman X. This masterpiece definitely deserves a 10 for it's brilliance.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Game Description

From the critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, a new 3D experience re-imagined from one of the most popular Metal Gear Solid titles from the past, comes Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D.

In the aftermath of the Second World War, the world was torn in two between East and West. It was the beginning of a new era- the Cold War.

October 16, 1962. The President of the United States received word that the Soviet Union had deployed nuclear missiles in Cuba. The world trembled in fear as the prospect of nuclear war loomed ever closer. After days of tense negotiations, the Soviets finally agreed on the 28th to withdraw their missiles from Cuban soil. With the resolution of this incident, later to be known as the Cuban Missile Crisis, it seemed that humanity had survived yet another threat to its existence.

However, there was a secret condition in the deal that put an end to the crisis. Nokolai Stepanovich Sokolov, a Soviet scientist who had defected to the West, was to be sent back to the Soviet Union. The U.S. government agreed to this stipulation, and returned Sokolov back to his native land. Little did they know that Sokolov was to be the designer of a nightmarish weapon. Now, with Sokolov back in their hands, the Soviets are ready to resume its development. If this weapon is completed, it will mark the beginning of a new age of fear.

August 1964. Realizing at last the urgency of the situation, the CIA forms a plan to recapture Sokolov. They dispatch the covert FOX unit to Sokolov’s research facility, located to the south of the great Soviet fortress of Groznyj Grad. Led by former SAS member Major Zero, FOX is a next-generation special-forces unit that operates both as a specialized combat group and as a covert intelligence outfit. The FOX unit’s modus operandi is to send a single agent, backed by radio support from afar, into enemy territory to carry out solo sneaking missions.

August 24. A lone soldier swoops down from out of the blue. The man’s code name is Naked Snake.
