Sonic Adventure 2 Review   Zircron Swift
Now this is a sonic game. This is a 3D sonic game that I will always praise. Sonic Adventure 2 was originally for the Dreamcast to follow up Sonic Adventures, and then it was given a remake for the Gamecube, called Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. This included new features including a Chao market, different characters in the Kart racing should certain conditions be met and (of course), GBA transfer mini-games. But that isn’t what I’m on about (well, yeah, I am   :s). I’m on about the original game. This is so much better than the first one. They perfected it. The sonic levels were more fun, there wasn’t any fishing, the robot-mech levels were made better than ever before, no fishing, it was faster paced, no fishing…..did I say there wasn’t any fishing? Well, I love this game, and I’m going to tell you why.
The game starts off with Sonic in a G.U.N helicopter, apparently arrested, and he breaks away with a piece of metal as he falls out of the flying vessel. Then you start playing. Yeah, not much structure on the story to begin with, but it will get better if you go along with it. You are greeted with a nice catchy piece of music with vocals known as “Escaper from the City”, which is a nice touch for a first level. You board down the hills of a city to escape from the pursuing G.U.N forces. This is what separates the first game from the second game. This level is very interactive and fun to play. There are also things you can’t do yet, which require power-ups you can find in the actual levels further on. The enemy placement and the accuracy of the spin attack make attacking the enemy fun, as well as a fast pace game play that makes the game flow so much better. Sonic Adventures just had this “get from point A to B” feel, with not much fun in killing the enemies or using the spin attack, just running and running. They were relativity boring compared to this game. They just did it….well, right with this game. Running through the stages was a lot of fun, killing enemies was awesome, and jumping flowed better than expected. It’s like they learnt from their mistakes and amended them in this second game. It’s quite rare a company does this, and does it effectively, for that matter.
After this level, you fight a boss, who is a little more challenging that Chaos 0 from Sonic Adventures, and it calls you the enemy. Why? Well, when you defeat, a black hedgehog appears with a Chaos Emerald, called Shadow. You call him a fake, while he calls you the real fake, and Shadow claims to be stronger and faster than sonic, becoming instant rivals. Shadow is like the alter ego of Sonic, making him generally awesome. I love this kind of banter between two rivals. The…..wait, they mistaken Sonic for Shadow? How can you mistaken blue for red and black? Are these elite G.U.N soldiers colour blind or something? Are you honestly they made a mistake over two very opposite colours? *sigh* Moving on…
Around this time, you get to choose between two sides of the story, Hero and Dark. Hero includes the side of the story with Sonic (running levels); Tails (E-102 Gamma style levels) and Knuckles (treasure hunting levels). These seemed to have been more or less perfected since the first game. The Tails levels are about as fun as the E-102 Gamma stages in Sonic Adventures, only with the added feature of finding power-ups and they are longer (balancing the speed and length so they aren’t as short lived). The treasure hunting stages are also better than they were before….overall, at least. The levels seem more structured and the hints given are quite good. Sure, it might take an age top find them, but when I complete that level, I can’t complain. The only big fault I can find in this level style is the music. It’s got that R&B/Rap style to it that I really hate, so I almost die of irritation when I play though that level style. Sure, it matches the character perfectly, but I still hate it. The Dark story line has the same level styles, same controls, but different characters: Shadow for the running stages, Rouge the Bat for the treasure hunting stages, and Eggman for the E-102 Gamma stages. It’s rather satisfying to play as Eggman, as his style is more reckless and destructive than Tails not that it is his nature or anything, but playing as Eggman changes my perspective and feels a little differently.
At the end of every stage, the rings are counted up and added to your Chao Bank, and you are given a ranking. If you did really well, you’ll get an A-Rank. Another way to get an A-Rank is to collect all the rings in that level, despite how many enemies you have killed or time taken. Every level has five missions, you need to beat the first mission to get the second, and beat that for the third ect. These give you different objectives, which are the same every mission, every character. You have to finish with a certain amount of rings, find a Chao, finish within a certain time limit, and then beat the level on hard mode. You also get an Emerald (same deal as in Sonic Adventures) if you haven’t completed that mission, and sometimes you have to met certain conditions. If you collect all 180 (or was it 200?) Emeralds in the game, you’ll get a nice surprise. This is no easy task. You need to get all the A-Ranks in every level in every mission for every character, as well as raise some Chao and make then win the races. Should you do this, give yourself a pat on the back, as this requires a degree of patients and skill. *pats self on back* Although the overall difficulty isn’t that hard, collecting all the Emeralds sure is!
The story is amazing. It’s not so much the story, but how the characters alter egos interact with each other. It’s always funny to see Rough flirt with Knuckles and how Sonic and Shadow have that rivalry where Shadow wants to prove he’s the strongest, with Sonic and that carefree attitude (yeah, I know I called him obnoxious, but there’s a fine line between being obnoxious and being carefree) makes the end result enjoyable to watch. Shadow has a surprisingly good back story, until it was pretty much destroyed in Shadow the Hedgehog, but for now, let’s just imagine for a moment that that game doesn’t exist.
The graphics are pretty amazing. I think they did a good job. They are noticeably better than the first game. However, I like how I can see the curve in the sky where the clouds are, and the background art looks a little flat when you look at it too long. These are the sorts of things you’ll notice when getting all the Emeralds.
The music is awesome. Each character has their own theme, and you can even listen to them in the sound options. The music, again, just is better than in Sonic Adventures. My favourite song of this game has to come from Live and Learn from the final battle, and I consider it to be Crush 40’s crowning achievement. I also love Eggman’s theme and Shadows theme. The level music is very nice, and you could tell they put effort into making these pieces of music. The best part is it doesn’t get old….well, most of it I suppose. I don’t think I could forgive the Knuckles stages….
The game has a lot to offer, especially in the Chao Garden. It’s like a whole new game in there. Like the Chocobo breeding in Final Fantasy VII, only more in depth. When you defeat an enemy, you get a power rod, which you can give to your Chao to level up certain stats. Hidden in the stage are animals you can give to your Chao to also level up stats, but also give them features of that animal. You can then race your Chao to win races and prizes. These are used by the Chao randomly. It was very rare to see the TV being turned on. Depending on what character you use (Hero or Dark), your Chao might evolve into a Hero Chao or a Dark Chao, both giving an extra Garden to breed Chao in (kinda like a Chao Heaven and Hell). But you can take this further. If you reincarnate your Chao (which is something they do on their own after extensive lengths of time), you can give it a different life. Make it the same type, however, and reincarnate it three times in total, and give it one of every animal and then let it evolve, you’ll get a Chaos Chao for the neutral, and Angel Chao for the heros, and a Devil Chao for the dark. This requires an advanced degree of patients to pull off.
Now comes to my favourite part of this game, the multiplayer! This offers a 2-player mode allowing you to play as all the characters in the game, and some from the last one as well. You can play some racing stages, rushing though the city or grinding down through a pyramid as either Sonic, Shadow or even Metal Sonic, surprisingly. Or you could fight to the death in the E-102 Gamma style arena as Eggman, Tails, or some Chao walkers (they’re so cute! =3), and you can even see who is the quickest treasure hunter as Knuckles, Rouge……Chaos 0 and Tikal? That is awesome! Never thought you could play as those characters without cheats. Each character has a special ability which you can use if you collect enough rings to turn the tables of the match. If you collect all the A-Ranks for that character, you can switch costumes, which is kinda cool, as Tails and Eggman’s different costumes offer different abilities when you collect rings. That’s a nice touch…..wait, is that….? No! Big? What is Big doing here as a playable character? What were they thinking? Did they honestly think “Since the fishing went so terribly in that first sonic adventures game, lets add him in as a playable character in the next one!” True, he’s only in multi-player, but still…..why? Ok, so they nearly perfected this game. -_-
Overall, I give this game a 9.7/10     This is by far the best 3D Sonic game I have played. It is one I won’t stop praising. If you are even the slightest Sonic fan, then you simply must play this game immediately. Go on, buy a copy off ebay, you won’t regret it. Hard core Sonic fans won’t be disappointed at this amazingly crafted piece of joy. It offers a lot of replay value, and is just so much fun to play.

“An event from 50 years before...causes the near destruction of the planet!”   sonicthehedgeho..
Mistakes.....they’re something that the people in this world know the definition better than anyone or anything else. Whether it was a mistake brought on by fear, danger, to even treason brought on by your own co-workers. This worlds past had dealt a great amount of treason against one of their greatest scientists in their line of work, upon the final preparations of a project that was deemed to become a benefit to society...those same people that worked with this man on his experiment ended up killing him & did everything they could to destroy his research. However; those humans were too naïve as 50 years after that tragic incident the research subject that was supposedly dealt away with has been revived and has come back for revenge on not only those who had tried to kill him alongside the doctor, but on the entire planet! How will this so called experiment accomplish this goal? Well he’s already had Sonic taken in by the government police force under false charges that he’s the one planning the revenge against the city & well-being of the city. Will our freedom fighting pal Sonic be able to clear his name of all suspicions or will he be seen as a criminal while the world
comes to its gruesome and tragic end? Looks like we’ve got a second adventure of Sonic’s to follow through again, so what’re we waiting for time is of the very serious essence!

Since this is the original Dreamcast version I’m reviewing I must judge the graphics based on this system and if you have played the first Sonic Adventure on this system you’ll instantly notice a vast difference on the quality of the graphics in this sequel. As all the characters look a lot more detailed than in the its predecessor but in facial features and animations for example: Sonic doesn’t look as blocky as he did before and he now has a smoother looking body and form. Also at least to my knowledge I haven’t encountered any graphical errors to be found when playing this game so the game seems pretty well functional in the graphics department which leads me to give this game a 9 out of 10 for its graphics.
Sound: 10 out of 10
Seriously....just like in the prequel to this game (Sonic Adventure) is there any real way that I can bring true justice to how AWESOME the music is?! Because I don’t think it’s possible, because even though there are some songs that were changed to where I don’t like them now compared to the first game like Knuckles theme “Unknown from Me” I do enjoy other songs reworked in this game such as Sonic’ theme “It Doesn't Matter”. Plus there are many new and incredible themes such as Shadow’s theme, Robotnik’s theme, and even the main theme of the game; as each and every single one of the themes fit their selected locations/people perfectly....such as Shadow’s theme being more so dark and mysterious compared to Robotnik’s more naïve and serious tone. The voice acting is very acceptable as it follows the animations of the characters a lot smother this time, and all the characters voices follow everyone’s personality. What’s that now?...You want to know some songs that I would suggest listening to from this games soundtrack and give reasons why I like them? Alright sounds like an easy question to answer, if I had to give a top 3 for my most favorite songs in this game it would go somewhat in this set order: 3 - Green Forest Zone because it sets the feeling in the scene with Sonic & Shadow’s aftermath of their first fight, to which Eggman starts yelling at Shadow reminding him that the island will be blowing up any minute which ends up tossing into the level with a fast and dramatic theme. 2 – Sonic & Shadow VS Final, as it doesn’t matter whether you’re playing as Shadow or Sonic the stage immediately beings with both characters looking directly at one another and sharing one line before the other speeds ahead in order to try and get the first attack off...while a space-like atmospheric tone plays in the background which make you feel like you could just float around listening to this song. 1 – The Last Scene, for the fact that it just ends off the final main story of this game so well...I don’t want to reveal too much about the scene but let’s just say when Sonic returns to the Ark Station everyone ask Sonic why a certain someone isn’t with him...as he just shakes his head and doesn’t say a word about it. Anyway I know this will get tiresome if I drag it on too long so let’s end this section by giving my score for the sound which is a perfect 10 out of 10!
Addictiveness: 9 out of 10
In my opinion this is where I believe the modern day Sonic games had hit their true and greatest potential. Now this next part I’m going to talk about will either make you enjoy this game more so than the original or less than the original depending on how you enjoy the layout of playing the game, basically what I mean is that instead of roaming around areas on the games map like you had done in Station Square...this time you’ll just enter the levels right away. So if you like myself whom really enjoyed the venturing around from Sonic Adventure (1) then you may enjoy this game a tab bit less, on the plus side though if you disliked what I talked about above then you’ll enjoy the fact that you just enter straight into the levels. Differences aside let’s talk more about what makes this game addictive and since we’ve already discussed how great the music is in the game so no use reiterating that again...AH that’s right!...The different varieties of gameplay between each of the characters in the main storyline, Sonic’s and vice versa Shadow’s stages all revolve around trying to reach the end up the level usually reaching the GOAL ring at the end, Tails & Robotnik’s stages are loosely based/are similar to E-102 Gamma’s shooting levels from the previous game, and finally Knuckles & Rouge’s stages are also based on Knuckles emerald hunting stages from the previous game as well to which I’m so glad they changed the controls for digging in this game. Lastly before I leave this section of the review I want to talk about one feature in this game that draws me to come back to every once in a while, that feature is the Chao Gardens and no that wasn’t a typo that I made because in Sonic Adventure 2 there are a few different gardens to choose from (however you must unlock the other ones). You’ll start out with your basic Chao Garden as you begin this game and if you manage to create a Hero or Dark Chao you’ll then be presented with a new garden for instance: If you make a Hero Chao you’ll be able to unlock the Hero Garden which has a more relaxing & peaceful melody playing than any other area in this world, then the other unlockable garden is the Dark Garden which is more of a ghoulish/anguishing type garden with really down-beat music along with the fact that the river looks like blood...pretty creepy don’t you think Sega? Why must I keep rambling on I have no clue, which in turn means I should shut my mouth before I start to bore everyone reading this which leads me to give this a score of a 9 out of 10.
Story: 10+ out of 10
As you’ve been informed earlier in this review about the past history of this town and what has caused this travesty to fall upon this same town 50 year later. Our well-known friend Robotnik (Eggman as he’s now called through-out the series) has found his grandfather’s secret military weapon known as the ultimate life form with the following name “Shadow the Hedgehog” Whom reveals to the mad scientist that he has the power to grant him complete domination of the world with a weapon known only to the secret military force known as G.U.N and this mysterious weapon in known as the Eclipse Cannon. These 2 foes have decided to work together, while on the other side of the horizon our heroine in blue is taken into custody by G.U.N under false charges because of the black hedgehog Shadow causing panic over the town & its citizens (although I’m not sure how you confuse Shadow & Sonic?) either way Robotnik threatens to destroy the planet if he isn’t given what he wants within 24 hours plus just in case they don’t believe him he demonstrates his power by blowing up half of the moon. So Sonic & his friends in hand come together in order to stop Shadow & Eggman alongside their supposed new friend Rouge the Bat whom much like Knuckles is a treasure hunter, as if Sonic hasn’t had to deal with enough doppelgangers in his past now he has to deal with that hedgehog of darkness who’s giving him a bad image and save the world once more under all this pressure. It lays down the plot and executes it perfectly as well which is why it deserves the rare and special 10+ out of 10 for its story.
Depth: 9 out of 10
If you’re looking for a game that’ll keep you entertained along with having many unlockable secrets or different features then you need to look no further than this Sonic game as it will have many things to keep the player interested for many years to come, I’ll briefly talk about a few features and finish off with what I’d assume to be a well-known easter egg that’s exclusive to the Dreamcast version...also just in case you’re wondering how many levels there are in this game then the answer would be 32 levels (not including bosses). First and foremost I say we should begin with the unlockable features that you can *no pun intended* unlock during your adventure of this game; number one will be the award that you get for collecting all 180 emblems what is this award you ask? Glad you said so because basically if you’ve played the original Sonic Game on the genesis then you probably know the level Green Hill Zone by heart, well SEGA decided since this was the 10th anniversary that they would redesign Green Hill Zone specially for this game for players that are willing to collect every emblem. Secondly there are alternate costumes (or different characters) you can earn for every character in multiplayer mode; most notable is the outfits that Sonic & Shadow both wear as in case you don’t know what those outfits represent well they’re basically from a game series known as Phantasy Star Online another game create by Sonic Team which is a pretty nice exclusive easter egg to this game however; you may notice I put different characters well that’s because not everyone has a different set of clothes but instead has a different character being playable as their alternate costumes such as: Robotnik’s costume change being Big the Cat from Sonic Adventure, this was later removed from the Gamecube port and was changed with a Dark Chao Walker. The third and final thing I want to talk about is the somewhat well-known easter egg where you can find Big the Cat roaming/hiding around in almost every level of the game (Excluding Racing levels & Green Hill) even though some spots are unreachable you can still find him by rotating the camera around and he usually has at least 1 appearance in each level although sometimes he can have 2 appearances in one level, you might be able to find a ring in the GC port where Big used to be but not always. That basically about wraps up the depth portion so nothing else to say but give my rating of 9 out of 10 for the depth then move onwards!
Difficulty: 7 out of 10
The difficulty in this game is at least to my eyes easier than the first Sonic Adventure game both in the controls and for the fact that I haven’t heard any glitches happening in the game without purposely trying (except for few releases of SA2 which had CD glitches but that still isn’t the games fault). In case you haven’t read my previous review I’ll quickly bring you up to speed as to what I mean by improving the controls...basically in the prequel/original Sonic Adventure you had  to charge up power in order to perform a light dash which isn’t that complicated at first but if you play this game and then decide to go back to SA1 again then you may forget to charge up your light dash move, what’s more is the fact that they also changed Knuckles digging mechanic as instead of pressing A & B simultaneously now you can just jump and press B in order to burrow into the ground which is a very well accepted improvement. There are also some optional items that you can find in certain levels which can help make missions or area’s themselves easier to accomplish for example: The Aquatic Mine stage is a stage filled with water at different levels of height and depth (sort of like the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time) since Knuckles can’t breathe underwater he’ll have to resurface after a while however; if you were to get this optional item known as the Air Necklace then you can stage underwater as long as you want or need, another example could be one of Tails’ optional Items the Laser Blaster which increases his range of firing and can be found in the level Prison Lane but it does require having the bazooka power up. All ramblings aside though the only boss I’ve had trouble with before was the biolizard boss that you fight as Shadow in the Final Story mode as sometimes I would forget to jump because I’m trying to stay away from its tail and mouth and then I’d fall into the sand immediately making me lose a life, also the final attack on him must be done by floating towards him while the red balls of energy come towards you which could cause you to get attacked and lose a life as well. Everything considered though I’d say the difficulty earns a fair 7 out of 10.
You’ve heard our travels now, as we race against time to stop the out of control Space Station known as ARK. Due to this disastrous state that everyone including the fate of the planet is in the 2 fastest and relentless hedgehogs decide to put their differences aside in order to work together by stopping the Eclipse Cannon from firing its devastating energy towards the Earth. Can this truly be accomplished just by 2 hedgehogs alone? With the both of them risking their own lives for the well-being of every living soul that resides below them and their battle? I assume that’s just the true meaning of their phrase Live & Learn! Well I guess I’d better be heading back to this site that’s as cool and blue as Sonic...

Sonic Adventure 2 (GCN) Review   bombchu link
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (GCN) Review
So, Now it's time to tackle one of the better Modern sonic games out there, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. SA2 was released back on Febuary 12 2001, it was the first sonic game to ever be released for a Nintendo
system. (and went on to make the 10th best selling game for the system) the game was first released for the Sega dreamcast, but the dreamcast and nintendo make to long of a story to post here, so onto the review.

~Gameplay~ 8
Game play is very similar to other Sonic games, you start at the beginning and have to run to the end. The idea is to get points in the level and with enough points and rings you would get an A rank for the level
(kind of like a grade). also their are challenges for the levels, like collecting 100 rings, not getting hit, and finding the lost chao. so their is a lot to do But that's not all, there are levels where you play as Tails and
Robitnick in walkers and must shoot baddies to advance. And even levels where Knuckles and Rouge get some screen time to hunt for the Master emerald shards or Chaos emeralds. all in all there is a LOT for
the game to offer. there is a "Hero" and a "Dark" side to the game. On the Hero's side you play as Sonic (duh) Tails, and Knuckles. SONIC HEROE- never mind. . . On the "Dark" side you play as Shadow, Robotnick,
and Rouge. each side has (if i remember correctly) 13  stages including a special final stage if you clear them all. Oh and don't forget the MILTIPLAYER MODE! you can race you buddies a Sonic, Shadow, Metal
Sonic or Amy Rose. Each character has different abilities ('cept Shadow is a carbon copy of Sonic) Such as Metal Sonic having a shield and Amy needing less rings to perform abilities. And you can also clamber
around as Knuckles, Rogue, Tikal, and Chaos zero trying to find all the chaos emeralds or the master emerald shards. There is also Kart racing, and chao battles, we will talk about that latter though, next up is Graphics.
~Graphics~ 6
Being a Dreamcast port, this isn't the shinyest game on the block. It has some rough edges, and you can definetly tell that the game is made of polygons. The walking and talking in the game isn't the greatest
for cutscenes especially when the say "chaos (insirt a very small akward pause here) emeralds". but it's a small thing and can be looked over. The enviorments are decent at least, the Green forest looks like the
Green forest, The Metal harbor looks like the metal harbor, and the dry lagoon looks like the Dry lagoon. Though their is one thing that I can't stand. . . their are a stretch of bridges high above the city, that are not
suspended to ANYTHING and they just look, wrong, with a black pit below you and paper cutouts for a background the place doesn't look all that entertaining. :/
but on the flip side, levels like city escape, they look very well done. You can see a background far out that look like a city, and buildings with some actual detail, like a flower pot in the window, and some bikes
lined up beside the road, and mailboxesand a park, and taxis driving around (unless ironicly I am remembering the remake from generations that is) and it just looks like a real city. . . with a loop that lets you run
down the side of a building that is.
~Story~ 8
I can't believe that Sonic games could have such good story. I literally played the "Dark" half of the game just so I could see the true ending. And I was actually INTERESTED in it. Most games I could pass on the
story, but I very much liked it in this one, I wanted to know what would happen when I beat the level and saw the cutscene. Now I would put the story down, but that would spoil it for you and would give me a bunch of
words without meaning. so I will skip that part, onto addictivenes.
~Addictiveness~  6
Set aside the "Need" to finish the game and see the entire plot I wanted to finish the game and be done with it, it's kind of like Final fantasy (set aside that I have never played one) after you beat it, what's the point?
BUT the mulitplayer made me keep coming back for more, racing with my friends was So much fun. I'm just a big multiplayer guy. and they are my favorite type of game. what more can I say? :)
~Depth~ 8
With over 20 hours to complete the game, 180 embems that you can gather, and four epic Vs modes. you will easily put over 100 hours into this one if you want to complete the game 100%. (and unlock the secret level.)
About the verses mode, it is only in this release for the Gamecube that you find the two player mode that is included in this game. there are four different modes to play in; Foot Race, Walker battle, Emerald Hunt, Kart  racing, and Chao Battles. I have laready told you briefly about foot race, So I will jump to the Walker Battle. In walker battles, there are only two charaters, Tails, and Robitnick, The would idea is to hit you opponent with missles and not take damage yourself, or on some courses your objective it to reach the goal ring. The Emerald hunt mode is where you fly around and climb  walls, hunting for the emerald shards/chaos emeralds. you have picture of the emerald on the bottom of the screen that flashed green when your near, yellow when your close, and red when your really close to it. when you get two of the three emeralds you win.
And finally Kart racing, Kart racing is the only minigame that was in both Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.(though you were limited to just one player in SA2) It's just like it sounds, you race in a kart through a level and try to come in first, it can be played with one or two players. Charaters have different stats, like Sonic and Shadow have speed, Knuckles is balanced, and Tails has good acceleration. So their is a lot of depth to this game, for a dreamcast game, and a fair ammount for a Gamecube game.
~Sound/Music~ 6
Now I have tow completely differnt opinions about the music in the game, I say it's great, and I say that it's terrible. let me explain.
I took a real liking to the tunes in Sonic's levels, Like City escape, and Green forest, but I DIDN't like the tunes that were in the Knuckles levels like pumpkin hill, (mainly because I hate whaever genre of music that was in his levels) and also the mines. I don't really remember the Tails or robotnick levels music. maybe that says something because it's just not that good. But I just couldn't stand the "Live and Learn" theme in the game, it was SO annoying. if I was to reate just Sonic's Songs I would give it a 7, but with the weight of Knux and the main theme, I have to decrease the rating because of it.
~Overall~ 7.9
all in all, this is a great Sonic title, not my favorite, but still a great one. The only thing I didn't really like about the game is that it was the end of the Retro era. Retro Sonic had died, and Sonic (and Sega for that matter) had moved on, Sonic had become modernized, Sonic heroes, and Secret Rings were around the corner that sent the series into a tailspin, And Sega had stopped making systems. I miss that era, but it had to come sometime, and even after 25 years of Sonic, the Blue blur is still having great releases.
now that I have drifted a little of topic there, let's review the review.
   PROS:
Great levels as Sonic/Shadow
Some good music
Great Multiplayer Mode
   CONS:
Some horrible music :/
I'm honestly suprised that I didn't have more for Cons, but I guess that, is that.  So until next time!

Sonic Adventure 2 Rocks!   WaysideFan2002
Hey guys,I'm here to review one of the last games on the Sega Dreamcast! This is Sonic Adventure 2 released in 2001, for the Dreamcast.
Graphics-8
The graphics are great for it's time! Heck, There still good today! The only problem I have with the graphics is the lip sync, it could be so off sometimes it's not even funny.
Sound-10
The music/sound is great! I'm sure everyone remembers this, "Rolling around at the speed of sound, got places to go, gotta follow my rainbow!" All the music is one big masterpiece!
Addictiveness-10
No if's,and's, or but's.You will come back to this game all the time!
Story-7
Like in My Sonic Adventure Review, I'm gonna separate the story without spoiling.
Hero Story-8
Sonic is flying inside of a military helicopter because he has been framed by new character, Shadow the Hedgehog, so the police think it was Sonic who robbed a bank.So Sonic jumps out of the plane with a plank of metal he uses as a skateboard. Later, he meets Shadow and get's caught by the police and Sonic is sent to prison on an Island called Prison Island. Meanwhile, Tails is flying the Tornado when he sees Doctor Eggman and Amy Rose,Tails saves Amy,Amy saves Sonic, and they go on there way to stop Doctor Eggman and Shadow. Meanwhile with Knuckles, he is just on his island guarding the master emerald when A bat named Rouge the Bat.Tries to take it, so Knuckles punches it to bits,so she can't it.o Knuckles tries to get them before Rouge.
Dark Story-7
Doctor Eggman, is breaking in to a military building so he can find a project know as "The Ultimate Life Form" just to find out that it is a black Hedgehog named Shadow. Shadow pomisies to help Eggman.Later, they meet Rouge the Bat and they all team up to destroy the world, but Shadow has a sad back story when he was separated from his friend Maria..
Overall, the story isn't half bad.
Depth-8
The game offers a lot! You have a challenge to collect all 180 emblems, if you do,you might get a surprise, there is also the now super addicting Chao World where you can take care of adorable critters called chao!
Difficulty-7
Sonic/Shadow-6
Not to Hard not to easy.Just get to Point A to point B.
Tails/Eggman-5
Not very hard either, just shoot for the win like you did with Gamma in SA1
Knuckles/Rouge-8
Even harder than the last game.
Bosses-6
A little harder than SA1,but not very hard.
Kart Racing-3
The easiest thing it the game.Just get to the finish before time runs out.
Overall-9.6
This game is great! Here are the Pros:
Good Graphics
Amazing Music
Decent Story
Very Addicting
Here are the Cons:
Poor Lip-sync at times.
A little harder than the first one, but still easy.
This game was one of the last games on the Sega Dreamcast and it's a great one!Great Job, Sega!Your final gaming system went out with a blast!

Sonic Adventure: The Sequel (SA2)   Biggestsonicfan..
This is Biggestsonicfan123, with his second review. SA2
One Day.. Eggman's Grandfather Gerald Robotnik was creating a hedgehog. After he created the hedgehog, all sudden he got crazy and became an evil scientist. Eggman was happy for the hedgehog. After the hedgehog saw Eggman, he listened to him. Later on they met with rouge. But, Sonic's Team, Sonic, Knuckles and Tails went on an adventure to save the world! And make sure it isn't conquered!
Save it or Conquer it!
Play as the Hero Team, Sonic, Tails or Knuckles or The Dark Team as Shadow, Eggman and Rogue! Sonic and Shadow's is Action Stage. Tails and Eggman is Shooting Mode. And Rouge and Knuckles are Treasure Hunting Mode. (let me talk more about the storyline.) As Sonic was captured into a plane, they were ready to land.  But, Sonic found a way to break out of the plane! He broke one of the parts from the plane, went on it and flipped down! He landed in the city. He had to Escape from the City! Also, Sonic and Shadow fights 2 Times. In Green Forest/White Jungle, and also The Ark (remade in sonic generations.) After you complete BOTH Hero and Dark mode, You will unlock Final Story.
Sonic and the others Team up! Eggman sends them messages. First we start with tails, as he defeats enemies and Stops time! After you play as Eggman and also stop time! After you go to Rouge and find the button, and then she starts sinking! Oh no!!! Looks like it's up to knuckles to save her and clog out the place! He swims and swims, hitting switches dodging lasers. He clogs the place out. Well done knuckles! Now it's sonic turn to flip from place to place, defeating enemies. After they find shadow. Shadow found the Biolizard! Shadow destroys the biolizard as it disappears into Space! Its up to Super Sonic and Super Shadow! With they're Golden Yellow and Golden Tan Skin and ultimate powers they fly up into space, Destroying the Finalhazard! After, they saved the whole world. Shadow sacrificed himself at the end. But it was sad... He promised for maria to sacrifice himself for the innocents of the peoples danger! But, 2 years later....Shadow was alive. We're all glad the awesome hedgehog is alive.
The End.

One of the most creative games I've ever played   Kingofthedemons
This game is amazing. Not only is it so addictive that you want to replay it over and over again but you must complete all the way. It has a fantastic story and the characters are phenomenal it's hard to find what is bad about Sonic adventure two but it is even harder to say any thing negative about the Sonic franchise all together of course excluding Sonic two thousand and six but I won't talk about that horrid piece of poop period. All and all Sonic adventure two will always be a fan favorite and also a game in every one's hearts.

Greatest Sonic Sequel   Ultimate NitroZ
What a great Dreamcast gem Sonic Adventure 2 is. This was just what we all wanted to see right before the Sega Dreamcast died out, a new Sonic game. And that is exactly what we received. The story mode was super awesome (The hero story was somewhat similar to the story mode from the Spider-Man game released a year prior), chao gardens are now split to three different ones, and more characters for two player mode. I doubt there will ever be any new Sonic game that will ever surpass Sonic Adventure 2.

Sometimes parts of the screen goes white when I'm playing making it hard to see and it can be slow but it may just be my computer.
ganondorf4ever 05-22-16 - 01:00 PM
Everyone's complaining about how unplayable the game is. I can play it perfectly fine, albeit a little slow. Heck, I even found out how to use a keyboard and not a controller.
erdi 03-11-16 - 12:38 PM
game takes forever to load for some reason?
marsongamer 11-06-15 - 05:15 PM
when i start the game it says "cannot verify" or something like that. is there something i can do to fix this?
EagleTsubasa 10-18-15 - 06:59 AM
Does anyone know why there are graphical errors (the screen goes dark in places, making it difficult to play)?
ricannino90 09-19-15 - 05:26 PM
When i double click the screen nothing shows up. Help please?
GreenUnicornPugs 08-20-15 - 05:31 PM
For those of you who are playing with a keyboard and find that it's not working, first double click the screen to make sure you've configured your controls, then you need to click Alt+Enter to play. It won't let you play in windowed mode.
