Sirius Mario Bros. Review luigi25
This review is for a game called Sirius Mario Bros. 1 which is a ROM hack of the first Super Mario Bros. game on the NES. A lot of the categories for this game I have to rate the same as the original SMB such as: graphics, music, and story. There are some differences in the level design and difficulty. I feel like this hack of SMB1 is easier for beginners than the game it was patterned after. Sirius Mario Bros. 1 is a pretty interesting game to discuss in some ways, and in other ways it isn't.
Graphics 5/10: The graphics are not good in this hack, or in the original. This is the worst looking game in the Mario trilogy, to me. The backgrounds are dull and lifeless, and the sprites don't look good at all! Sirius Mario Bros. 1 is made from a game that looked pretty dated to begin with, so this is about what you'd expect from this type of ROM hack.
Music 7/10: Players get the same soundtrack in Sirius Mario Bros. 1 that they got in Super Mario Bros. on the NES. It is pretty decent soundtrack with some memorable tunes, but it is very lacking in variety. I still like the castle theme, but this game hasn't got much else to it. The music sounds good, but there isn't enough of it.
Gameplay 7/10: The idea behind Sirius Mario is to beat the level as quickly as possible before you run out of time. It is the same goal as the original SMB, and you get the same power-ups from before. However, they are a lot more plentiful in this hack. You are given so many Super Mushrooms and 1-Up Mushrooms in this game it isn't even funny. Players will need them because there are a lot more enemies this time around. You'll take a lot of damage but won't find yourself losing many lives. However, if you do none of that matters either because the game gives you so many. Sirius Mario Bros. is way easier and more forgiving than the original game.
Players will want to be careful not to go down certain pipes because they will take you back to the start of the level, or they simply kill you. The level design is something to get used to your first time through, but with all the Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, Stars, and 1-Ups it doesn't take long to figure things out. Like with the original, the level design is still pretty repetitive and follows the same pattern as the first SMB1. Worlds 2-2 and 7-2 are basically the same just like before. Some stages even copy Super Mario Bros. but with some minor changes. Sirius Mario Bros. 1 isn't the same game as Super Mario Bros, but some parts don't feel all that original.
I have mixed feelings about the gameplay and level design of this hack. In some ways, it is pretty creative and doesn't just rip off the original game. It's certainly more friendly for beginners but still offers a decent challenge. When comparing the two games, I enjoy both about the same. I wasn't too fond of Super Mario Bros. 1 or Sirius Mario Bros. 1 but still enjoyed them to a certain extent. Like with about all the other categories of this review, I have to rate the design of this hack the same as the original.
Story 7/10: The story for Sirius Mario Bros. is the same story as the original NES game. Bowser takes over the Mushroom Kingdom and kidnaps Princess Toadstool. Mario and Luigi fall down a Warp Pipe that takes them to this land where they both set out on their quest to save the Princess and restore peace to the kingdom. The plot is pretty basic and not all that exciting. It's the same as the original.
Content 6/10: Sirius Mario Bros. 1 contains the same amount of content as before. Players only get 32 levels that are split up into 8 worlds with 4 stages in each. After completing the normal game, you can play it again in Hard Mode, but nothing much has changed. Basically, this game only has about 35 to 40 minutes worth of gameplay that is all that exciting.
Difficulty 4/10: This is a good ROM hack for beginners because of all the extra lives and power-ups Mario can earn. You'll need them because of all the enemies, hazards, and traps this hack contains. This is a game that still has a decent amount of challenge to it but is more forgiving than before. It takes some getting used to, but with all the items and extra lives players will want to keep at it. It isn't a hard game, but for first time players, it can be pretty tricky. You'll learn as you go and discover some of the pipes don't lead to secrets, they just kill you or take you backwards. The difficulty is pretty balanced and not that hard. It just takes some trial and error.
Overall 6.4/10: Sirius Mario Bros. 1 is about the same in quality to Super Mario Bros. I rate all the categories of this hack the same as I did before. The only thing that is different is the difficulty. Sirius Mario is a lot easier than SMB. I consider it to be an easier version of the first game. It's great for beginners who want something less challenging than the original. Both games aren't that good because of the dated hardware Nintendo had to work with. Sirius Mario did what it could because it was created off of that one, and Super Mario Bros. was still an early Mario game.

the final sirius RedHotReviewer
Welcome to my review on Sirius Mario Bros 1 and I believe this is the last one in the series that I have to review. I have always wanted to review a whole series after I found out that I was good at making reviews. Depending on whether or not the mario party games are good or not when i try to play them on here I may or may not be reviewing them. Mario Party will probably be my next main focus on terms with reviewing instead of my reviewing ROM hacks.
Story 3/10
The story of this game is the same old same old. Princess Toadstool has been kidnapped and you have to rescue her. Except you can use all sorts of glitchy stuff to make this game easier.
Gameplay 6/10
I can practically only say the same thing for each Super Mario Bros game that is like this. The controls are the same as the ones for Super Mario Bros but the z key (the key to speed up) is one of the most important things to remember if you would like to glitch in this game. The only other major control for glitching is the x key. This key allows you to hop off vines and sometimes you will end up in a block. Some of the no clipping glitches will require you to jump. Some will require you to press the down key and jump. The down key is also important in glitching in this game. Also: I strongly suggest that you stay with the default keys and not try to change them up. Most of the time when you actually think it will make the game easier it actually only makes the game harder. Z is also the key to throw fireballs if you have the fire thrower power up.
Graphics 8/10
The graphics in this game are the same as the graphics from the original Super Mario Bros except there are a few weird monster placements. Like a blooper (a jelly-fish like thing that is mainly used in water) in a non-water level. I mean whats up with that?
Sound 7/10
Is the sound from the original super mario bros. I could give you a run down of them all but you would be bored by the time you have read about the music in every single level.
Addictiveness 10/10
SPOILER ALERT: Not really much of a spoiler but this game doesn't really get old until you can beat every level without needing to load a save state (I'm almost there!)
Difficulty 6/10
If you are not all that great with Mario games then this won't be as easy as it was for me. But at first it is a good game and will make you better.
Overall 7.4/10
While this game is barely the best in the sirius mario bros series it does lack in a few things. This is just my own opinion: The sound and the graphics rating could of been better if they had it changed up slightly.

Things are gonna get sirius ihateschool2004
Yep, this is my first review on a Super Mario Bros. hack... SIRIUS MARIO BROTHERS 1! A hack that will seriously warm up your bacon...
Alright, onto the review now!!!
GRAPHICS: 5
The graphics are still the same to the original game, but the levels are edited. I still like the look of the normal look of the graphics though.
SOUND: 8
The sound is still normal but not edited. The creator of this game could use a music changer to change the music and sounds itself. Not sure if it's glitchy.
ADDICTIVENESS: 5
When you start the game, I find level 1 the most weirdest. But I'll still play it though... even when it's hard.
STORY: 1
The story is still the same. The Princess gets kidnapped by Bowser and Mario and Luigi have to save her. That's all. Find that boring?
DEPTH: 7
It seriously does have (sort of) a lot of hard work to do to complete the game and become a super-star.
And now for the difficulty: 8
I find it a bit hard to play the game. But I'll sort of play it again. And again, and again.
That's all for my review of Sirius Mario Brothers 1. Hope to see you again soon.
