Not a bad game, pretty good actually... Mohammedroxx3
Well, hello everyone, it's me again with another review! And it looks like I'm finally beginning to do more game reviews almost everyday! And I hope this keeps up. So today, I'll be making a game review of another Sonic the hedgehog sprite hack. And in this sprite hack, you play as Shadow the hedgehog instead of Sonic the hedgehog. And this is actually a pretty good game! It might be one of my favorite Sonic the hedgehog sprite hacks! So now, let us talk about why this is a good sprite hack of Sonic the hedgehog!Gameplay: 9Well, here is basically were I'm going to talk about what mostly made this hack a pretty good game. So one thing that wasn't changed in the gameplay was the physics. Shadow still goes down a hill slow unless he rolls down like the original Sonic the hedgehog, also he has around the same jumping height and speed. But shadow the hedgehog actually got some cool abilities and signature moves in this hack though. The first thing is that when you press A, instead of jumping, shadow the hedgehog actually kicks whats in front of him! He can actually kill badniks and break monitors by kicking them! Thats a pretty cool move for a Sonic game I guess, but I don't really see how is that useful when you can just break monitors and destroys badniks by simply jumping on them or rolling and spin dashing. Oh, did I just mention spindash? Yup, another useful move shadow the hedgehog can do that Sonic can't in his original game is that he can spin dash. It comes really handy in some cases. Especially if your trying very hard in beating a level as fast as you can. Especially useful for these types of sonic gamers that would try to complete all of the zones in less than 15 seconds, lol. I know that sounds pretty crazy but it's true and possible. Or at least possible in green hill zone. To spin dash, simply hold down and tap the jump key while your on the ground (obviously). And now, one more signature move that pretty much really made the gameplay get such a high rating is... I'll tell you a hint, it can be abusive to badniks and monitors at times, yup you guessed it, the homing attack! Even though the homing attack in this hack isn't really at such a high speed, it's still pretty decent. Or actually amazing for a Sonic the hedgehog sprite hack and thats for sure! When there is a monitor or badnik on sight, you can simply use the homing attack to destroy them! But be careful not to fall in danger though. After Shadow were to strike a badnik or monitor with his homing attack, it's not easy to control him in the air. But don't worry, he will be fine after like one or two seconds but you can still bump in to danger at that moment, like hit in to spikes. But did I mention that this hack actually doesn't have any spike bugs? I'm serious, it doesn't and thats really good thing here. No more instant bouncing deaths. lol. Also, as you guys already know, when there is no badnik or monitor in sight, then the homing attack will just make you dash forward in the air which is pretty useful in finishing a level faster and it can help in some cases. Also the level selection cheat works. In the title screen, press up, down, left, right, and then A + enter. Well, not sure what else to say here. To summarize what I said here, shadow the hedgehog has signature moves and his signature moves is the spin dash, kicking, and the homing attack. Thats all for the game play section of my review and looks like I typed a lot in this portion of my review again but oh well.Graphics: 8Well, most of the things here were once again unchanged, mostly the same like the original but there are quite a few things here that were changed. The first thing that was obviously changed is that you would play as shadow the hedgehog instead of Sonic the hedgehog. And the shadow sprite looks alright. (It rhythms! lol) Not so bad, he still sort of has his attitude, still more like himself I guess. Also one really cool thing that would show that you are playing as the real shadow is that when you move fast, he is actually using his hover boots (or skates) instead of running like Sonic. So that shows that the shadow sprite in this hack was really well done! The second thing that was changed was the title screen! It shows shadow coming up instead of Sonic and I got to say that the title screen was also well done! He had his attitude, he looked tough, strong, evil, and cool! Not emotionless and it was animated well instead of just popping up still. The third thing that was also changed was the color of the badniks, a few parts and colors of some things in the level, and the part were it says what zone and act your in (like green hill zone act 1 for example.). The badniks looked more "bad" I guess, and in the part were it says what zone and act your in before you start the level has the little circle red instead of blue. And I think some of the monitors were changed too. Well, yup, nothing else was changed here, and I guess thats all for the graphics portion of my review! Sound: 8Nothing really changed here, basically the same like the original Sonic the hedgehog. The only thing is when Shadow kicks, it does a little sound effect, which I guess is a little cool. The same while doing the homing attack, which shows that they put a little more effort in making this a great hack of Sonic the hedgehog! Well, nothing else for me to say here! Addictiveness: 9Well, the game is sort of addicting I guess. Especially if your the type retro gamer who likes to play as shadow the hedgehog in classic Sonic retro games. Like the original Sonic the hedgehog is addictive and this hack is similar to it except of an addition of some cool signature moves that Shadow can do in this hack so I guess this game would sort of give you a feeling of wanting to play with shadow again in the original Sonic the hedgehog levels. Thats all for me to say in this part of my review!Story: 6And you guys already know what I am going to say here. Same old and simple story. Well, sort of confusing actually. I can't imagine myself saying that Dr. Eggman is kidnapping innocent little animals as the energy source of his evil inventions and then shadow the hedgehog would be the one to save them and stop Dr. Eggman. That just doesn't sound right at all for shadow doing this but I guess this is the story of this sprite hack I guess. lol.Depth: 9Well, this game sure does have some good depth in it I guess. As I have already mentioned earlier in the gameplay section of my review, shadow has some cool signature moves. Like the spin dash, homing attack, kicking, and he can use his hover boots like the real shadow. So that does show that this game deserves a pretty good rating for depth.Difficuilty: 6Well, Same like the original Sonic the hedgehog, it mostly depends on what zone you are playing in. Usually it's in the order of easy to hard levels. Like green hill zone can be an easy "walk in the park" while labyrinth zone is extremely hard. Even though star light zone is after labyrinth zone, star light zone is still easier in my opinion though. But other than that, the rest of the levels does seem to go in to that easy to hard order. But overall, I would give this a 6, well at least for me.Overall: 9Well, yup. Thats pretty much it for my review of this game. It's an okay game I guess. You guys should try it out sometime, especially if you like shadow. And thats all for my review, I hope you liked reading this. Thanks and have an awesome day! :D

Shadow is in Sonic 1 Itachi9695
Well what else can I say? Shadow in Sonic. New abilities, re colors and Shadow looks like he would in a Genesis game.
The graphics are pretty much the same as the Genesis game, but there are re colors and a Shadow sprite that looks like it came straight from a Genesis game. The original game's graphics were great and so are these.
The sound is straight from the original game, but of course, who'd want to change that anyway?
This game is just as addicting as the original, I'm sure I'll come back and play this again and again.
Not much to say for story.
This game has just as much depth as the original Genesis game, and with Shadow's homing attack, you can get to some of the secrets much easier.
This game's only REALLY difficult stages are Labyrinth Zone and Scrap Brain Zone, but don't take that as me saying the other levels are completely easy either.
To sum it all up, this game is just as good, if not better than the original. All Hail Shadow!

Totally Awesome!! MisterTwister227
Ever since I was four years old, I've loved Shadow the Hedgehog. Back when we had GBA SPs, we would always fight over who could play as Shadow in Sonic Battle... Heck, he's powerful, somewhat emo, and has a sensitive side. This game ended up exceeding my expectations by quite a lot. The new sprites are amazing, the original music was perfectly unaltered, and from what I've seen, there are absolutely no glitches. I'm certain that Sega could make a ton of money off of this game (if they were the ones who created it, that is), because unlike Shadow the Hedgehog for the Gamecube which involved lots of guns and violence, this game is just as innocent as the original Sonic the Hedgehog games. *Definitely worth more than 20 Viz*
