River Raid Review Overall - 9.5
River Raid on the Atari 2600 is a good game to play. I was surprised to play this game cause it was actually fun for an Atari 2600 game. It was more like a dodging game, where you avoid being hit, but in this game, you also have to get fuel so that you do not run out of fuel and die. I love playing these kinds of games. It is so addicting and it never gets old. I guarantee that you will love this game.
Graphics - 9
The graphics are not that bad. It looks pretty awesome for an Atari 2600 game. The effects are not so good, but the levels look very well-made.
Sound - 8
The sound is good. There is no music playing in the background, but the sound effects are worth having. When you go up to the fuel, it will make a cool sound effect and it is just awesome.
Addictiveness - 8
Like I said, the game can be addicting and I really love playing these kinds of games. So, yeah I would play this a lot of times.
Story - N/A
There is no story in this game. Basically, you just dodge objects and get fuel to avoid running out of fuel and be able to beat the entire game.
Depth - 5
There is not much to offer in this game since it is an Atari 2600 game. It is a very old game, so you would not expect a lot of features in the game.
Difficulty - 5
The game is not that hard. Since I am good at these kinds of games, I would have no problem with it. The only thing that sucks about it is that you can only stay on the water. If you go on the land, you die. Another thing is that the fuel part. I have no problem with it, but I recommend watching that a few times in case if you run out. The enemies are okay, but a few are just hard to get through. Other than that, the game plays fair.
Wrap Things Up...
River Raid is a great Atari 2600 game to play. I highly recommend trying this game out if you have not already. I guarantee that this is fun and it should be one of the best games to play on the Atari 2600. :) Graphics 9 Sound 8 Addictive 8 Depth 5 Difficulty 5

The river is heavily guarded, however, with balloons, ships, choppers, and enemy aircraft trying to stop you. Along the way you will need to fly over fuel stations to refuel your jet and keep flying. The plane is armed with a cannon with unlimited ammo. It can be used to destroy the enemy vehicles and bridges, but a careless player can accidentally destroy a fuel station. Colliding with the riverbanks or with the enemy aircraft destroys your plane and makes you lose a life.
