Pokemon Ruby 3 in 1 marcus047
Game Background- Well as the title seems like a dead give away, this game is a hack of Pokémon Ruby where you can catch all three starter Pokémon(Mudkip,Torchic, and Treeko). The difficulty to catch the starters seems to have been messed with and it is gradually harder to catch the them even tho they aren't suppose to be there in the first place. Unlike other hacks where all three starters are available, in this hack all the starters can be found right on the first route. In my opinion it's a good thing because it makes building a well balanced team easier because you have a good start with diverse Pokémon types straight from the beginning and as every Pokémon fan knows type advantage is the best advantage when battling Pokémon.
Graphics- The graphics remain unchanged in this Pokémon Ruby hack. The Pokémon forms as well as the buildings and general grass, water, cave and sea areas remain the same with no changes. The hacks graphics are what you would expect from Pokémon Ruby, animations such as reflections in water, excellent color scheme with no discolorations. So for graphics i gave the hack a 10 out of 10.
Sound-The hacks soundtrack hasn't been changed at all from the game its based off of(Pokémon Ruby). The music is repetitive and gets quite annoying after a period of time. The hacks creator didn't mess with the sound of the Pokémon battle cries at all. Although the music is rather annoying, its quality such as acoustics and pitch is of the best quality for a game coming from/made for the Game Boy advanced system, so for sound i gave the hack a 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness- I'm very likely to replay this hack again especially if I'm in the mood for a replay of the Hoenn region, 3rd generation Pokémon adventure. I enjoyed this hacked version of Pokémon Ruby significantly more than the original because of the fact that you could get all three starters and other than that factor nothing else was changed so it was like I was playing through Pokémon Ruby version with just the extra perk of obtaining all three starters. So for addictiveness i gave this hack a 10 out of 10.
Story-The story goes you wake up in the town of Littleroot where you defend the professor against a wild poochyena(a Pokémon) using one of the Pokémon the professor himself lets you barrow, after the fight the professor allows you to keep the Pokémon you used. After that you set off on your grand adventure in the new Hoenn region, but little do you know a there is a(n) evil sinister crime organization lurking in the shadows whose ultimate goal is to expand land for land based Pokémon by destroying(draining) the sea(thus seriously causing unsuitability in the environment as well as water Pokémon everywhere) by using the major destructive power of a(n) super ancient Pokémon and it's up to you to raise a Pokémon team strong enough to counter strike against the evil organization known only as Team Magma before they bring about the downfall of the Hoenn region and then the world. So for story I gave the hack a 9 out of 10.
Depth- The hack offers gamers and fans of the Pokémon franchise the possibility to catch all three Hoenn starters and to play threw the amazing and well put together story of the Hoenn region with all three starters from that region, which in my opinion are the most creative starters to date. Naturally seeing on how all that was hacked was the ability to get all three Hoenn starters, the game has the same amount of stuff to do as regular official Pokémon Ruby such as enter and win ribbons at Pokémon contest halls,go to the battle frontier and put your Pokémon teams strength to the test at battle tower, make a pokeblock treat with the berry mixture activity/mini game, and also collect all the badges and beat the elite 4. So for depth I gave this hack a 7 out of 10.
Difficulty- Well the hacks creator didn't mess with the overall battle A.I. (which wasn't very challenging to over come and defeat as it already is), the starters were actually harder to obtain(catch) then most Pokémon in the hack. The difficulty trainer wise is the same as the difficulty you would expect from regular Pokémon Ruby(which is very easy, the A.I. Makes constant mistakes in its battle strategy). So for difficulty i gave this hack a 6 out of 10.
Overall- Overall I feel as tho the hack is a better version of Pokémon Ruby because it allows you to catch all three starters early on in the hack which only added to the further enjoy of Pokémon Ruby's excellent storyline.Altho I have to say as far as a hack goes, this hack wasn't hacked very thoroughly but then again it was hacked just enough to make fans of the franchise appreciate its creator for taking the time to make this game and the creator didn't go over board with it and added a bunch of extra features that aren't necessary or really wanted by fans of the franchise. So overall I gave the hack a 9 out of 10.
