Link of Fails - PttP falls short of the standard AuroVee
Pokémon of the Past is, to be frank, a not-so-good hack of Link's Awakening. While it's not too bad... it could had been a lot worse.
My main complaints of the game are as follows: first, some of the sprites could had been done a lot better, as it's mainly Link and his items which are replaced sprite-wise. Second, the text is badly done - with words cut up and the combination of old and new text making it hard to read some of the story. Third, while I understand why the hacker possibly renamed the dungeons as gyms, I don't think it works as well as they intended. And fourth... why use Poké Balls in place of hearts?
Sound-wise... I had hoped to hear some more Pokémon-related themes in this hack, rather than the standard Zelda music. But at least the beeping is not as annoying in this game compared to other games.
As for the story, while it follows the same logic as Link's Awakening, the equivalent of the Wind Fish in this game, Serebi... That's somewhat of a turn-off for me.
Finally, while the hack is somewhat long, it's not one which I would recommend to anyone to try out. You'll be better off playing Link's Awakening DX than this hack.

Not a A+ Game at all renthec
This hack really hasn't had a whole lot of work at all. What I hate
about this hack is it is a hack of Zelda into a Pokemon game. I think this game
would be much better if they didn't change around a great game into a terrible
Pokemon hack.
GRAPHICS - 5 The graphics are bacically the same as Links Awakening with a few changes. Instead of link you are playing as Ash with green clothes on, and instead of hearts your health meter is poke-balls. This really aggravated me while I was playing the game, and I'm sure every Zelda fan couldn't make it through a minute of this game!
SOUND - 9 The only reason I love the music and sounds is because it's not changed at all! The music and sounds are exactly the same as the original Links Awakening!
Addictiveness - 5 I personally love the original Link's awakening, but transforming it into a Pokemon game takes the addictiveness way down, I wanted to quit so bad when I was playing it ( Although the music did make it a little better).Story - 1 The story of this game is absolutely terrible you are ash and the only way to get off the island is wake up a big Pokemon. It is a total rip off and a terrible story!Depth - 8 Although it is a terrible game in my book it has about the same to offer as link's Awakening. Instead of a sword you swing Bulbasaur at monsters, and instead of a shield you use some other Pokemon ( sorry I can't name it I don't play much Pokemon)Difficulty - 9 All I have to say about the difficulty is it is extremely difficult! Although this game deserves an F in my book you might like it so why not try it out!

Not the best... DrShikura
The game wasn't the best I've played. At all. It is essentially the exact same thing as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
=GRAPHICS=
The graphics were essentially the same as that in Link's Awakening. There are a few changed icons. For example: Bulbasaur sword and Kakuna shield. Pidgey Chickens, etc.
=SOUND=
The sound had not changed at all in the time span I had played this. As far as I could see, there was no difference between this, and the original counterpart; Link's Awakening.
=STORY=
The story was changed, however. Apparently, you are washed on an island. I couldn't care to remember the name of the town you are taking residence in, but apparently, you are unable to leave until this ultimate Pokémon is born or something along those lines. The character dialogue was also changed, but rarely makes sense. The grammar and spelling are horrible more often than not. The punctuation is bad as well. It is just terrible English the whole way through.
=OVERALL=
I played this for about 20 minutes and made it to the First dungeon before I forced myself off. Is this worth your time? Certainly not.
The graphics and game play are almost equivalent to Link's Awakening. The sound has not changed. The boss fights or anything like that are also unchanged as far as I have heard. A poorly made home brew.

Pokemon trainer deals with this situation himself this time! RoyQuart1
This game offers a wide range of sprite changes! At first glance through the beginning it might not seem as appealing, but as you make progress until after the tutorial. Things get more and more entertaining once the first temple is reached!
The sprites, all are from the from Pokémon's first generation, from the trainers sprite to the bosses. Each are replacing the original sprite by their abilities respectively. Though the game play and sound remain unchanged, it isn't a very bad thing either. I appreciate the classic music and sound effects.
Story, the story doesn't remain unchanged, all character have the names of Pokémon characters. Though it would seem as though the creator didn't have enough time to swap the character sprites, the hostile bots got this upgrade.
All around this was a good game and revisited some old memories with it, both from the Pokémon and Zelda series.
