These is one of best need for speed for speed games for the ps1 I used played it when it first came back in 1998 i remember me and my brothers playing against each and going against the cops in hot pursuit mode my favorite car in this game is the lamborgini diablo the top speed is 205 mph ..the best track in this game is the Atlantica there is a shortcut in this track to try to get away from cops the drive a 90s crown victroa if go through 3 or 4 laps without getting busted you will have the pursuit lamborgini in expert mode or corvette in beginnier mode they also will set road blocks and spike strips if they can't you soon ..if you are in secret tracks such as THE ROOM you can't play in hot puruit mode or race against opponents but you play against each in 2 players on secret tracks these can be unlock by enter the cheat codes or you beat all the races in the game including the knockout races there is a cheat to help you win races you pick a car and start a race in hold  L2+R1+SELECT+START before the loading screen appears and you can drive next your opponents and press UP and your opponents will wreck you do the same in hotpursuit mode to wreck cop cars ..there are 3 cars and 5 tracks to unlock in this game you need to start tornament on beginnier and you select a car and you will start off at hometown track this track is fairly easy to beat you have 4 laps to win if you win 1st place you will earn 8 pts 2nd place 7 pts 3rd place 6 pts 4th place 5 pts 5th place 4 pts 6th place 3 pts 7th place 2 pts Last place 1 pt the points are giving depending on your position but you must come 1st place in order to win the tornament if you beat the tornament on beginnier you will unlock a jaguar XJR-15 and the Mercedes benz CLK-GTR in Expert Mode there are 8 races to beat the first race is hometown then the second race is Redrock Ridge then the third race is Atlantica then fourth race is Rocky Pass then the fifth race is Country Woods then sixth race is Lost Canyons then Seventh race is Aquatica then the last race is The Summit now in Knockout mode you have to beat the race without coming in last place in Hometown you must come in 7th place or better to advanced to the next race ..Redrock ridge you must come in 6th place or better to Advanced to the next race.. Atlantica you must place 5th or better to advanced to the next race the Rocky Pass you must place 4th or better to Advanced to the next race the Lost Canyons you must place 3rd or better to Advanced to the next race The Summit you must place 2nd or better to advance to the last race The Empire city you must place 1st to win the knockout competition and you will unlock the empire city track you can unlock the tracks and cars without beating the race by entering a cheat code SPOILT as a name to unlock all cars and tracks except for secrets tracks but you unlock the when entering the following codes The Room track enter the code PLAYTM as a name to unlock it then the space track you Enter MNBEAN as a name to unlock it then Caverns track enter the code XCAV8 as a name then the Autocross track you enter XCNTRY as a name to unlock it then the Camera views you enter thecode SEEALL as a name to have camera view during a race .. i have played this since 5 yrs old in 1998 then 7 yrs old in 2000then 9 yrs old in 2002 then 18 yrs old in 2012 then 19 then now i am 20 yrs old in 2013 still play it today i will never sell this game since i am in love in this games i love the music i don't like EA music that we have today which started on Need for Speed hotpursuit 2 for PS2 then Underground in 2003 ,.this need for speed 3 hotpursuit for psx is better then any newer need for speed game i love driving the tracks and the secrets like the room i do love that track i brings back memories of my childhood days from the late 90s to early 2000s i do love to play this game on ps3 since i played it on ps1 then ps2 i still remember playing it on the PS1 back in 1998-2002 this is my 4th copy of this game my brother broke the first disc in 2002 then then my 2nd and 3rd disc got scratched and stopped working so i ordered a like new copy of disc on amazon.com then it worked perfect..
