Review for Tactics Universe: A Fire Emblem hack merf
Hey all, I'm reviewing again! I've got Tactics Universe (which I will refer to as "TU"), which is a hack of the RPG series: Fire Emblem. This game is the basis for
The Last Promise, another
Fire Emblem Hack. While this game is not complete, it provides a great storyline and an in-depth set of characters. The story follows Siegfried and his son, Shon, as they travel the continent trying to free their homeland from the invasive Etrurian army. They have just a small band of warriors, and you get to lead them to victory! The game ends just as the climax begins to occur, but the creator of the game has changed the storyline slightly and changed the title to "The Last Promise". Well, let's get down to it!
Graphics: I really like TU's graphics, though they can't compare to today's systems. The battle animations are very diverse, and the actual graphics are great considering the system. The maps you will play on are very unique, and also very good! I
love the graphics in TU, and I rate them a perfect 10/10.
Sound: The game's unique soundtrack is incredible, especially for a hack! With such a different music selection, it's hard not to like! The music is very appropriate for each situation, and doesn't lose value or become repetitive. I really like the music, so give me a 10!
Addictiveness: While TU is not a complete game, I've found myself playing this multiple times! I know I'll play this again soon, and I hope you do too! While I have the least to say about this, that doesn't make it bad. Because of the shortness of the story, I can't give this a 10. But, I'll give a 9.
Story: The storyline in TU is incredible! I can't say enough about this! Blazer (also known as Fire Blazer) is incredible at creating deep and gripping storylines, and I love every single one of his hacks that I've played! This time, the story follows the knight, Siegfried, and his son while they fight for freedom from the oppressing Etrurian army. I love this story, so I'll give a well earned 10.
Depth: This category will be the lowest ranking, not because of the storyline, but because the game is incomplete. I really like TU, and the length of the story is my only bone to pick with blazer. I'll give Depth a 7.
Difficulty: As with The Last Promise, the game starts out easy. But, if you don't use all your units, and well, then you may find yourself stuck at a place where you have to restart the game! TU is a great game for first-timers, and also for those who are considered experts. I can't find a problem with the difficulty, so I feel an 8 it appropriate.
Conclusion: Tactics Universe is a great hack, and if you like RPG's at all then you should check this out! I really enjoyed playing this game, and I think you will too! So go ahead!
Check it out!

A New Competitor for Fire Emblem macman3
Fire Emblem: Tactics Universe, game by FireBlazerx17, review by Macman3
Overall (9.3/10) Such a great game, and considering it was one person who made an entire story from scratch, using an outdated engine. Blazer did a phenomenal job with his creation here, the story has a great tone to it, that just makes you want to keep playing.
Graphics (10 /10) The graphics on this game are amazing, as they made many custom animations for each character, including a miss animation, a striking animation, and a critical animation, for almost all characters (healers cant critical, nor miss) and they look amazing, no words can describe how great these graphics truly are.
Sound (10/10) The music for this game is very easy to listen to, it fits perfect with the way the game plays.I think it just adds to the overall feeling you get while playing through the game. You can simply sit and take a listen for several hours not even playing, I'll sum this up in one word, Flawless
Addictiveness (10/10) Warning: this game will force you to play for hours. I had to stop only when my arm started to get tired from pressing A (I have it set to Q) so much. Something about this game makes me want to play more. Would recommend to anyone who wants to play a good long strategy game. (game length varies based on what the user actually wants to complete, more in "Depth" category)
Story (10/10) Dear God this story is fantastic, you can easily pick it up, learn the story, and play through it to the end. The story is very comedic, with many one liners that make you chuckle. In my opinion, it rivals the quality of the real releases for fire emblem, I hope to see more custom stories from Blazer.
Depth (8/10) There is quite a long story, with plenty to do. When you try to be a perfectionist, and complete ALL chapters getting ALL playable characters at the highest possible stats, it can take tens-hundreds of hours. However, the problem is, unless you are a perfectionist, the game doesn't last very long, but that's not too much of a hindrance to the players experience.
Difficulty (8/10) the difficulty in all fire emblems (exception w/ awakening) is hard to rate, as a simple mistake can make the game 10 times harder than before. The main 2 cases this happens is 1). If you don't gather all village items, some of these items is the difference between a win and a loss later on and 2). If you lose one of your characters and don't reset, this can make it so you have lost one off the best (possibly) members of your team, and that makes things harder. With that, I decided on an 8/10 because its not overall very difficult to finish, unless you make small mistakes a lot.
Thank you for giving your time to reading this review, and thanks Blazer for the amazing game, I literally mistook it for a full fire emblem release. I would recommend this to any strategy players, new and old.
