Elite Soccer? More like elite sucker Scohui
This game is about soccer. But not any kind of soccer: Elite Soccer. Or at least, that's what they wanted it to be. You play as a soccer team (you don't say) from the 20 available. It really doesn't matter which is chosen, since the players are mostly equal in stats (the stats don't matter unless they are very high or very low; equality can be changed in the options) and the color won't change at all. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposite team, like any other soccer game. But doing so is only possible if the goalkeeper difficulty is set to low, or else it will gain super powers.
Graphics are weird, to say the least. The characters flash from time to time and the ball physics are
very realistic, the same goes for the goalkeeper that can grab the ball from the other corner of the goal without moving, because teleportation.
The sound, besides the menu theme which is not that bad, is basically white noise. White noise for the cheering, white noise for the kicking. Audibly, this game is racist.
This game is hardly addictive, unless you like the frustration it brings for not knowing what you are doing, or just want to score some goals. After that, there's pretty much nothing else to be done.
The time it takes to beat depends entirely on what you choose to do and the time options. You can play a single match against the GB, just some penalties, or play a league of any size. With the exception of the penalties, everything else is the same thing: a soccer game.
One itty bitty LARGE problem with this game is that it never gives you instructions. Like, never. You have to guess which of the buttons does what. Then, the game selects which of the players you are going to play as, and it's very annoying because it can change right when you are running to the ball. Passing the ball is also difficult because it's mostly random. Free kicks are only applied when someone tries to make you fall from behind (the same applies to the player).
After everything is taken care of, it's time to meet the goalkeeper. Depending on the goalkeeper difficulty, you can be facing either an human or Superman.
Between the matches or in the time out, it is possible to change the tactics and the squad. There is not much need to change any of those, but it is still possible.
In the end, I would say it's a Meh game, which one would only play if one is bored.
