The graphics were well designed and captured the feel of Paris beautifully. All of the scenery and people were well made and I loved the design of the main character. The movie style cut scenes were some of my favorite parts as it told major points in the story line. They were well made and even after playing through once I would watch them over and over again. Of course during these scenes the words are spoken out loud which adds to the realism of the surrounding with the characters accents. The graphics during the rhythm games are amazing too capturing the intensity of some of them and the simple fun of others.
Sound: 10
Like before a rhythm game has to have good music and this one delivers with easy catchy tunes that at some points get very chaotic but still make for an incredible ride. The idea of making the best instrument as a side quest is interesting too as the instrument changes as you give the guy different sounds. These sound vary from animal noises to the clink of a glass being struck or a cork being pulled from a bottle. Some sounds actually go unused but that just part of the fun. The voices used for the characters are well portrayed and their accents are well done making the world feel alive around them.
Addictiveness: 10
Seeing as I could not stop playing this game when I first got it I think it is very addictive. From the story to the rhythm games, all of it is overwhelmingly well done and it makes you want more! I have beaten the main story and two of the side stories that you can unlock and at the moment I don't have high hopes of unlocking the last one anytime soon. They need to make a sequel that is how addictive this game is.
Story: 9
I bumped this down for one reason and one reason only....The cliff hanger ending!!!!!! You just don't do that when there is no confirmation of there ever being a sequel! It's just cruel!! But that aside the story is really well written. And with out giving any spoilers it is fairly easy to tell that the main character is a thief and he uses rhythm to escape his pursuers or to fight them in some cases. This gives the game a feeling of excitement and mystery as his ultimate goal and that of his enemies are shrouded in a suspenseful chase like situation and there is even a beautiful love interest! What could be better?
Depth: 9
While there are plenty of songs in the rhythm games area to take care of and two smaller side quests there is not a whole lot else but even with so few diverse things to do it still feels like a lot to try to master the rhythm games and get all A ranks in order to unlock the final bonus chapter. The variety of different styles that the rhythm games come in is amazing as well from playing the violin to jumping across rooftops and lamp posts to fighting off goons that jump at you in time with the music. Each one require different match ups of buttons and touch screen play. There is even a time where you kick a soccer ball back an forth with a kid to the beat! The two side things are collection style quests where examining every inch of the town is the only way to find them all.
Difficulty: 10
I ranked this high as some of the games seem easy but they are overly difficult at times and even when you think you get it one wrong move can drop your score to the C range easy. There are items that you can use if you need help in a certain game as many are necessary to the plot and have to be beaten with at least an E I think. Might be D... aka you have to pass. Some are super easy or just so fun that the difficulty doesn't bother you but others can be a real pain.
Overall: 9.6
I loved this game and really do want more so they can finish the story and I can see that dancing figure again. He pulls off amazing heists simply by using the beat and his agile movements make him awe-inspiring. The story really reels you in and makes even the most annoying rhythm games seem like they have a way just so you can see more of the story. Which seeing as I have beaten it there is a way it is just very difficult. The backgrounds show the town in an amazing light and I can't help but love every scene, both 2D talking and the movie cut scenes.
That is all for this one! Thanks for reading as always! Hope you enjoyed this one as well! See you next time!
