King's Field   SacraRain
Let me tell you about King's Field, one of the most exciting games I have ever played for the PSX (Playstation). Now, when people say that all games in "First Person" suck, then they are dead wrong when it comes to this game. Not only will this game creep you out, but the utter aura of the game itself just puts you on the edge of your seat This is a game that you MUST HAVE, and if you haven't played it yet... I recommend that you play it ASAP (as soon as possible).
Graphics- 8/10
Now, when it comes to MOST (if not all Playstation games), once they got into the 3D animations as well as the appearances of the 3D world...everything was a bit "block-like" or you could say that people looked like they were made out of squares and rectangles. With this game, even though the graphics look like something you would see in Minecraft (but not as detailed as Minecraft)... then it kind of makes you go "Wow, Minecraft... nice use of earlier ideas". But anyways, I'm not going to diss Minecraft... one of my top favorite games of all time. Now, as I was saying... this game, even though the graphics aren't as enhanced as todays stuff... this game is just absolutely amazing. Being the way that it is, once you get into the game... it kind of makes you slightly paranoid, and almost scared to go and look around. Heck, when I first played it... I jumped continuously because around almost every corner was something that could kill me with one or two hits. Not to mention, you are surrounded by extremely dark waters that has something lurking in them... so be VERY careful.
Sound- 8/10
Oh my god, now... I'm going to like have a heart attack just thinking about it. The music is just astounding and eerie at times, most of the soundtrack for this game is designed to give a creepy medieval kind of feeling... making you worried that something is going to kill you if you don't pay close enough attention. The music itself is just enough to make you go "oh god, what's going to happen?!?!" but as you walk through the game, you encounter so many strange things that you might not even be sure what is going on anymore. Each SPECIFIC area comes with it's own music and as you go further into the game, the music will become a little more "uplifting" and not as much "scary". Not to mention, the sounds... oh man, the sounds were freaking epic. With the right kind of TV or audio system playing the noise from the game, you may just end up looking around your house for the next minute or two of your first time of playing it. I mean, I had a huge TV and I'm talking that this baby was loud... I had it loud and it echoed throughout my room while nobody was home. But as soon as the music came on, it was like "oh god, please don't kill me! I haven't even moved yet!"
Addictiveness- 9/10
Now, if you like games similar to "Final Fantasy" or "Legend of Dragoon", then combine those games with some "Minecraft" and presto... you get this magnificent piece of work. It's a "First Person" RPG and believe me... once you get started (unless you chicken out), you won't get bored any time soon. It's extremely challenging, and it requires a lot of thinking and planning. In order to make it through this game without dying, you have to avoid being hit, cause the only way to heal yourself is by items... and the items appear RARELY. I believe I have played this game over 42 times (no joke) until I finally got past the first part of it. Sure, for some of you it may seem easy... but when I was just a little kid, and this was one of the games I had... I kept closing my eyes when going around corners, it was just a little too freaky for me. Add on the fact that I hate really deep waters, and in the game I'm surrounded by really dark and deep water... it was nothing more than a way to scare the crap out of me (no, literally... I actually crapped my jeans from this when I was just a runt).
Story- 6/10
Now, I'm going to finally level down a bit on how much I love this game and how much I wish I could play it again (but this computer sucks and won't let me use any plugins except for JAVA and stuff). But as I was saying, the story to this game is a little "basic" I suppose. Even though I kind of skipped the storyline about this game, to be honest... it's pretty much like ever other RPG game. You have to go on some quests, you have to save someone or something... and you have to restore order. Overall, to be fair with you... the playing the game was enough of a challenge, and trying to remember the story would have made me even more pathetic at it.
Depth- 7/10
Now, since this game is much like many SNES games (even though this one is a PSX game)... you don't exactly get a whole lot of options. Sure, you can cast magic, you can swing different kinds of weapons and you can encounter all kinds of quests. But overall, all you need to do in this game is keep moving forwards and avoid being slapped around like a punching bag throughout this game. Some enemies will even chase you down until they kill you, or you may get pushed into the waters and drown seeing some creepy things as you sink underneath. Whatever be the case, this game may not give you a whole bunch of options... but the experience of playing it is more than enough to thrill you into fear or into being on edge.
Difficulty- 10/10
I'm going to be honest, I wasn't exactly the best person at video games when I was young (okay, I'm lying... actually I've been pro at games my whole life) but that's not the point, the point is... this game had NO MERCY for you, and after only a few hits... you were dead and had to start all the way back at the beginning (unless you found a save point or had a game shark to create one). With all the different types of enemies, some a little more creepy than the rest... you never really know what might happen to you, you may encounter enemies that chase you every step of the way until you finally die... or you may encounter enemies that try to corner you into one area and then beat you senseless until you scream. I mean seriously, when I played this... I was screaming and covering my eyes when I first played it, I couldn't figure out how to survive and it was more than I could comprehend. But as I got older, it became aware that when I was a kid... I just sucked (even though I was pro), but now... I can run through that game like it's no other.
I'm going to keep it real with you... this game will either scare you or confuse you. So you better be ready for a challenge that will test your logic, your courage, and your patience.

Kings Field Review   DestinyHeroDC
Time to do my second review of the day. This time I am reviewing Kings Field. I first played this game when I was four years old or something like that. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I played it. I still had no idea what I was doing for the most part when I played it a couple years ago, therefore, I have not beaten the game. This review is based on what I have seen of the game, and what I have played so far. So this review will actually be spoiler free, because I still do not know much about the story. Now with that out of the way, without further a do, let us get on with the review!
The game play is actually really good. Kings Field is a First Person Role Playing Game that runs very well. You start off in a place where you can easily die, which includes a monster that can 1 hit you and deep water where you where sink and drown. There are a whole bunch of areas in the game where you can go, but need to level up first by fighting the enemies around you. There are not that many save points, so be careful. There is also a cool feature called warp gates, which lets you warp to different save points and areas. Sadly, you have to find the warp gate keys, and figure out which warp gate they go to which is a real pain. Other than that that is pretty much it.
Now lets get to the graphics and sound. The graphics were phenomenal for its time. Even though today, it does not look that great, it still is a reminder of how good it looked back in the day. The work put into the game is huge. And you can tell when you play it. The sound is also really good. Especially for its time. The sound effects are great and the music is amazing. Every new area has an amazing soundtrack and will get you pumped up every time. Even the starting area has a rocking soundtrack.
This game is extremely addicting. It is amazing how addicting a game can be and Kings field has that in it. The depth is also great because there is so much to do and so much to explore. There are tons of areas to clear out monsters, there is a pretty high level cap, and tons of armor and weapons to find. Also there are a lot of items to discover which will help you greatly. Find these, and you are set.
The story in Kings Field is pretty vague at first but talking to the civilians will let you know more and more of the story. Including what you have to do and what is really happening to the island you are stuck on. Pretty much, play through the game and you are set on the story if you are thorough.
The difficulty is very hard because your first time through, you have no idea where you are going, what to do, and where to go. Some monsters can actually one hit you and make you start all over if you do not save. Also the controls are very hard to get used to, but once you get used to them they are easy. Just keep playing and you are good.
Overall I rated Kings Field 8.5 out of 10. This game has great graphics and sound for its time, and a decent story. And gives any newcomers a very good challenge. If you disagree with my review, be polite about your disagreement and tell me. If you liked my review, like it if you want. Thank you for reading my review, and as always, I will see you in the next review.

The game that you may have passed by   TheReaper7290
This is a favorite of mine that is why I decided to make this review. It is a first person role-playing game. This game came out back in 95 it is the first part here in America but it is King's Field 2 in japan there has been 4 in total and the spawn of the Demon Souls series when King's field came out it was not very well known because at the same time there was Elder Scrolls the game that stole it's thunder.
Graphics: 5/10 The graphic in this game was not as good as most ps1 games but it was also not the baddest. The first time I played this game I thought the graphic could have been better but then I got into it and graphics fit with it's environment and the monster that you had to fight so in fact it's lack of good graphic made it a better game.
Sound: 8/10 The sound in this game was great the only thing that was missing was the sound of your footstep ever thing else your could hear perfectly from the water flowing to the monsters death cries. The music was very catchy an hour into the game and you will find yourself humming the music.
Addictiveness: 10/10 Warning this game is very addictive. The first time I ever played the game I found myself hooked I did not want to stop playing it. I have beat it more times than any game I have ever played. So before you start playing it I would go get some coffee because you won't want to stop.
Story 8/10 The story was not bad but it was hard to follow as like the Dark Souls series you have to uncover the story on your own. I don't really want to tell much about the story just in case you want to play it yourself.
Depth: 8/10: This game was pretty long compared to the average depth of most games. There are allot of bosses and secrets to find so start checking walls. The further you get in the game the more open it gets so you can always go back if you want to do some leveling up.
Difficuly: 7/10 This game is not very hard the fact that if you are not strong enough you can go back and build you level up.The only thing hard about this game is the last boss. The most created and well thought boss in any game I have ever played.
Overall: 10/10 If you love rpg style games this is by far the best one you will ever play. I can't even come close to tell you how great of a game this is. If you have not played it save up on viz and get the playstation item you won't regret it.
This is only my second review so any feedback will be great and Thank you for reading.
