Drama can actually be funny, but for me most of the time I just avoid it. Sometimes I shouldn't because it involves friends of mine, but it's become a regular habit for me the past couple of years. And quite a bit of the vizzed drama I end up not being online for anyway XD

Hmmm, thing I like most about the great land of V?

I guess it's hard to pull out just one thing that's positive about the community to be honest.


The people around here are, or at least were back in 2012, pretty decent. From what I've heard and read from back in the day, 2006-2011 were the glory days of the forum.

The community is very lax for the most part, if you stay out of politics and don't try to stir the pot (the new dislike system also helps to cater the community away from controversial discussion to keep it neutered down and calm, and while I think it is important to forge in fire; I can understand the younger audience aka the majority of the demographic not wanting to mingle in these things.)

But yes, the positivity is a good thing, ignorance is truly bliss, but you need both red and blue pills to navigate through the world.

Other than that, pirate distributation letting people play old ROMs is also a perk of the site if you don't understand/aren't good at using emulators and don't feel like sitting through a 10 minute youtube tutorial.

Who am I kidding, Vizzed was born and died when the RGR happened, the website turned from a place where love and soul was poured into the site with Davideo's posts every day having fun with Jigsaw and Geogree in those forum based games now found in the treasure can, Has now ever since about 2011 a place where David spent every waking minute just working on the RGR and trying to get views on your adds.

The RGR is the new pinnacle of the site, and the crowd it pulls in is less than the highest level of intelligent in internets (due to spoon feeding people emulators and ROMS in a nice little .exe package that even an 8 year old can do.)

It's helped the site traffic, and made David a decent amount of money up until very recently due to nintendo's C&D, but it really made the community suffer as a whole.

Nobody really replies to replies from the OP anymore (one of the biggest problems with the forums tbh).

There is no real creative drive in the community outside of the old innocent town and the Star fox RP that both ran for a decent while.

And of course the latest example would be the Minecraft server dying because no perpetual continuation due to lack of drive. (no PvP grudges, no more contests, ect)


All of this adds up to member leaving, because this place isn't made to really keep members here, it's primary function is to get add revenue, the forums are just a novelty at this point.

You guys are pre 2012, and you might not really remember me, but I was just strolling through and remembered enough to remember your names and that your pre 2012 so yeah.

What's keeping you guys around? I'm just legitimately interested in all of your reasons. Do you guys hang out much/know each other even?

It had what it takes to be an open and free enough board to allow discussion on stuff we're still only figuring out.

i love vizzed because i can play arcade games, games that i played when i was a kid, and much more games/hacks.

re4leonk07 : I agree. The users here are very cool to get to know and almost every video game I've played, I originally played on this site.

hellno163 : That's one thing I really like too. I can play many video games I started playing at a young age, and even different versions/hacks of those video games.

I like the community that it offers the most out of this site. The RGR is real appealing to everyone, but I grew to a point of enjoying the forum and the site's users as well.

pacman1755 : Exactly. The RGR is very expansive but the forums are easier to find new content in. You can also meet many more people in the forums than you can by chatting with others in the RGR.

For me it's the community. Although it isn't nearly as vibrant as it once was in early 2013, I'm still able to find enjoyment through posting and hanging around in the forums. I've only been around since 2013, so I don't know what the site was like in its 2006-2011 glory days, but I remember logging in every day, making friends, playing games in the rgr, writing reviews, and fiercely competing in TDV. Even though the competition was always heated and required an enormous amount of dedication each day, I was able to meet most of my current friends that way. It was great. When I first came to Vizzed, I spent the majority of my time (I'd say the first month or so) in the RGR playing Light Platinum, and as fun as it was, it paled in comparison to the great times I had on the board afterward.

Even though it's not as lively as it once was, I still enjoy the community and the opportunity to be a part of it. 

SacredShadow : I wasn't a registered user for the glory days of the site either. 2013 was when I jumped into regularly posting. I think I met you through the July 2013 TdV!

Before I registered, I spent a ton of time in the RGR playing Mario hacks that I hadn't been able to play on other sites. I had to be careful since I had the guest limit of how many games to play per day, but that was ok because I spent so much time playing 1 game each day. The limit didn't even matter!

The thing I like most about Vizzed is the community. Shame it has gone a little dead, but at least the TdV has sprung some life into some corpses.

Our community is safe, family-friendly and welcoming. That's what this is all about. Showing that we, as mature people, are able to discuss our opinions freely in a society that does not welcome a right of speech.

Not saying that we can hate on someone without consequences, but at least it gives us something to talk about.

realplayer109: I actually came back to activity right before this TdV started XD I think the activity will be a little better when more new threads are made.

My favorite thing about vizzed is that I can play all the games on my computer. I can play game boy, genesis, snes without having to switch gaming systems around. I enjoy the fact that people can make their own games and put them on vizzed, like the complete Pokémon games no more try to play two games at once so that I can trade myself for the Pokémon I want to own.

Fantasy.Castle : I've always liked that everything is all in one place and it's easy to access. Also, I used to request Mario hacks to be added here all the time and I'm probably responsible for 30+ of them being added. So obviously I always liked that ability too.
