Which transportation option do you like using the most? What makes it so much cooler than the rest?

For me, it's a scooter. I don't care how ridiculous I look as a 17-year-old dude riding a tiny scooter. It rocks.

Just kidding, my favorite method of getting from place to place is riding in an airplane. It's rare that I'm able to due to how expensive it is for all 5 members of my family unit to fly. The last time I did so was 3 summers ago when I went to Washington D.C. for an educational field trip. My family only had to pay for me alone so it wasn't too bad. I was among friends sitting with me so my parents knew I'd be safe and happy!

I will forever prefer the subway. In fact, I haven't gotten my drivers license yet because I plan to always use the subway and buses here, instead of owning a car. Not to mention there's so much you can do that you couldn't if you were focused on the road. I can play games, watch videos, and write, so it's always a goo time to get work done if I have any.

I've always loved the subway, probably because I have a couple stations very close that allow for a quick travel nearly everywhere in the city. This extends to any kind of train, because not everything goes underground everytime yet it follows the same principles.

I'm getting a liking to bus as well. Our city is starting to implement a new net which will only comprise three categories of lines: horizontal (named H + an even number), vertical (named V + an odd number) and diagonal (named D + a multiple of ten). This will make it easier to remember their layout and help with transfers. Besides, the newest generation of bus looks so cool and it runs on the line that passes just below my house, so I have a privileged sight every so often lol

I don't think I'll ever switch my liking to any other transport currently in existence. In my city, those two are the best way to move around and they're kind of fast as well, so it's hard my car will get any love besides going outside of town or hanging out at times where public transport isn't operative.

I wouldn't say my favorite, but it's definitely the most practical: bicycle. In Silicon Valley, car traffic is hectic and drivers are completely crazy; I hope I will never have to use a car. However, mass transit is pretty poor. In my previous job, I biked over 60 km daily... which was quicker than mass transit minus the train. And the light rail is so slow...

zanderlex : I remember riding in a subway twice and I loved it! I didn't care that I had to stand one of those times because the view was sweet and unique.

EX Palen : Yeah, one thing I love about a subway is that there isn't traffic. That bus system sounds handy and I hope they finish that system soon so many people can experience the relief of new convenience.

janus : Not only that, biking is great for your health. I've always loved it for that reason, and that I can always feel the breeze flapping my hair and shirt.

Never mind the shirt! I ride for such long distances that I get too hot (I also carry my backpack). I do it shirtless and it feels much nicer. Of course, should I get in an accident I will get scratched... but it's a risk I am willing to take.

janus : You don't just do it to get tan? That's what I'd do it for but I got sunburnt at Cocoa Beach so I'm keeping my shirt on until I'm done treating it.

I get too hot biking as well unless there's cool breeze, so when I go biking with my dad we take water and chill in the shade for a few minutes.

By the time I get out of work (3:30), I can't really get a tan even in California. I keep the tanning for weekends, when I do walk around the neighborhood shirtless for that very purpose.

Cars, naturally. It feels the most safe and it's pretty fast, too. Too bad cars are too expensive or break down easily.

I'll learn how to drive a car sometime, but I dunno when. It'll be great when I do, though.

janus : I can't tan when I'm only outside for 30 minutes after school either so I guess I save it for the weekends too.

yoshirulez! : I really like cars when I know they're reliable. Learning to drive one is a privilege but it feels strange at first. It might take you a while to adapt to the many controls.

Pacman+Mariofan : It is quite handy, but sadly it's a very slow change. After all, you can't just get rid of +80 lines and change them for like 50 new lines in a single night.

They've been doing a gradual change over the last two or three years, implementing a bunch of lines to success some old ones that will stop running. That's another reason why it's slow: all the stops must have their signs changed, updated or modified. Plus, the new lines don't have their final layout active because they still take bits of the lines they came to retire so people adapts a bit easier to the new system until it's fully deployed.

So yeah, it's still going to take quite long. We're expecting a new bunch of lines for Fall, so we should be one step closer to finish the project by October. No stopping the progress

I haven't had the chance to try several different methods of getting around due to location. I've never flown or been on a train. I don't really care for bus rides because there are no seat belts, and I don't feel safe in a vehicle in which I'm not securely fastened. Cars are pretty much the only option for me carrying heavy things or traveling longer distances and they're much more suitable in weather like heavy rain or really high temperatures, but for just about anything else, if you're carrying something light or nothing at all, I prefer a bicycle or just walking. I feel like, unless you're physically incapable of doing so, it's lazy and wasteful to drive a half-mile to the closest dollar store to grab a soda and some snacks. With the exception of riding a few places with my dad, I've been on foot for probably for probably pushing three years, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Hands down it must be car. Love driving and never get tired from doing it. Just love being free and just drive around and listing to music. For me I just stay calm when driving and times flies so fast for me when I'm driving a car. Since I decide where I want to go and how I want to get there. I'm compliantly in control of the car and how I want to get there.

m0ssb3rg935: Yeah, I have to ride in a car for everywhere I go unless it's a school trip or my parents want to spend a ton of money on plane tickets. Good for you that you mostly walk! That will greatly benefit you in the long run. For me, I would walk or ride my bike somewhere if my school wasn't the only good close place to ride a bike to. And I don't want my bike being stolen, not that I'm 100% sure it would happen.

I WIn Also : I never tire of being in a car. *ba dum tss* But anyway, I love the freedom that comes with driving too, and I've only driven in parking lots because I'm still waiting to get insurance. Once I can drive around some areas around my house, I'll feel so amazing I'll want to brag about it to everyone

Listening to music helps driving be more fun when it has to be for a longer period of time. My family depended on music to keep us energized when Gatorade didn't help enough.

It's funny how multiple times in a row I've replied to both of you in my threads in one post, and it's always m0ss who posts first XD

Yeah, I live in a relatively tame place. The only time I know of anyone's bike is a couple of people who were picking at my cousin. If I was anywhere else, I'd be afraid to take my bike anywhere without bringing a chain and padlock or something.

Also, sorry lol. TDV is really good motivation to get post quota knocked out. I was wondering if I was somewhat over-saturating the boards. :/

m0ssb3rg935 : Well, it's good that you're in a calmer place. I live in an area where we have to have a block-watch program for our neighborhood. One time, some teenagers smashed our mailboxes. No one knew about it until the next morning so we didn't stop them. :/ Sure, there's a smashing mailboxes joke in the movie Cars, but that doesn't mean you do it!

If I ever needed to take my bike anywhere, I'd find a good place to park it instead of leaving it somewhere where people assume I'm getting rid of it. Even then, I'd be scared and wanting to go quickly with what I'm doing.

There isn't a such thing as over-saturating the boards at this time except for excessively spamming. I didn't mind replying to you guys's posts again.

There isn't a such thing as over-saturating the boards at this time except for excessively spamming. I didn't mind replying to you guys's posts again.

I'm going to be honest, I really prefer walking if able. This is why I love to live close to things. I'm just that weird guy that sees something bad happening with all other forms, not to say something bad can't happen while you are walking. I really don't even like being a passenger in a car. Flying, through is makes me really nervous, I still do really like it.

Droog : Same here, I love walking but my neighborhood park is the only thing that's less than 4 blocks away from my house. Ever since my dad got a new car, I've seen the bad happening with cars. The backup camera is good, but some of the new technology and changes is just silly.

If something is farther away but still close enough, I would run to get there if I'm not carrying anything other than my phone and wallet.

Pacman+Mariofan : I don't mind a bike if it a few miles away. I just leave in enough time to make stops for water. I'm in southern Florida, it is more than needed.
